      +Roy Kliffen Brian was astounded that the audience hit the notes so well. In other videos you can see him turn to Roger and mouth "Did you hear that?". The other thing I noticed all through the show is how sad John looks. Another person wrote that they believed when Freddie died, a part of John Deacon died also. I would have to agree with that. It just wasn't fun anymore for him, and I understand why he chose not to be with Queen anymore.

    • @Tassie85
      @Tassie85 Před 8 lety +11

      +kutzbill Freddie had 4+ octaves and George has 4 -- a great match-up in terms of doing Queen's incredible music justice. George Michael is one of the best vocalists alive today (and perhaps who will ever live). I think this performance was a valentine to Freddie and to Queen. Amazing. I got chills!

    • @FMLuFiN
      @FMLuFiN Před 8 lety +9

      +kutzbill I read that John broke down completely after the concert, because he realized that this has been it, this is the end. I think he already knew that he wouldn't participate in any kind of "Queen +..." after Freddie's death. Such a sweet and sensitive guy.

    Normally, I absolutely despise tribute remakes of songs by artists of Freddie Mercury's stature. You will never remake Freddie, Whitney, MJ or Aretha and do them any justice, and when most people try, it's just ear rape. But George Michael KILLED THIS!!! It's like he was channeling Freddie. He not only stayed true to Freddie's style, he showed true reverence for Freddie. This was GENIUS! I'm not even a George Michael fan, but nobody else could've carried this off, not this perfectly. Sublime!

    Look at Brian 04:17, the relief on his face after George nails that final phrase. I remember when I saw it in 1992, my mouth dropped, and it still does today.

      Adam Lambert isn't a bad singer by any stretch of the imagination, but he sounds like a pale imitation and an off Broadway production of Freddy.
      George Micheal on the other hand is not Freddy but is great in his own right and brings his own voice and would have been a better fit.

      +Klaus G Queen without Freddie is like a pub without Beer.
      This was an awesome peformance.
      Michael did it on his own way but what makes it so great was that he brougth the same energy in the song that Freddie gave.
      But there wil neve be somebody else like Freddie Mercury.
