    Thank god that snow is deep. It helps cushion the 4 inches of suspension travel!

      My 89 formula has 6.5" up front and 7" in the rear

    Last of the fast pluses. My 88 plus killed my buddies 89 Mach 1 every time. That said, my 97 formula 500 could kill my old plus. Still love the old videos.

    Man that takes me back. My MXLT was the best cornering snowmobile I ever owned...so long as the trail was relatively smooth. These weren't the greatest in bumps but they were well built and reliable. I still like the Formula design overall, top and bottom they had such clean lines. On the heavy side though.

      Yeah I had the same one brand new in 1988 and I loved it but I sold it seeming how I moved to Tampa Florida from Massachusetts. We've been trying to buy a a second house in Connecticut I can't wait to go ski doing

    I grew up on this sled (the 1990 formula plus version) and will always love it. So nostalgic!

    I remember looking at the Plus and MX in Snowmobile magazine in the 80's and being Ski-doo curious since it had front IFS kinda, similar to my Indy. I was always trying to figure out how it worked since there were no shocks visible. Then years later in the early 90's I got to ride a Mach 1 in Powerline pass in Anchorage. Yep, what I thought was going to be cool wasn't with it's weird ergos and that mysterious IFS went boing boing over the bumps and didn't ride as good as my Indy. Still, I always liked the way the 80's Formula sleds looked. I've always kind of wanted to buy one for a groomed trail sled as I bet they'd handle well in those conditions.
    Thanks for posting the video, it brought back some memories!

      true the prs was good on smooth groomed trails,, but did suck at the bumps, i had both, and the indy ifs was better.

      @@GearheadRob319 They cornered like they were on rails, where as the Indys liked to lift the inside ski and would dump you over if you got careless. Overall though yeah IFS was better, which is why Ski-Doo copied it once the patent ran out.

    I had one. FAST on the trails, a DOG in the powder. Arctic cats would kill them in the powder.

      User error, on my 89 mx just adjust the clutch and it would go through anything, and it had a 114" track, my mxlt would not go as fast but would go through the pow just as easy,

      @Hudson Ward that could very well be! Back then I put gas and oil in and that was the extent of my knowledge. And I only had that sled for a couple years. I do remember what an anchor it was in the powder. Wish I would have messed with the clutching because it sure had the power!
