Premium priced cars like this work well on Turo. High net worth individuals are typically renting to experience a nice vehicle and treat it well. However, as soon as you start renting a car at a lower cost, that's where the troubles can start.
Tesla Model 3's rent for as low as $59 a day where I am at since there are so many available. That attracts a lot of knuckle heads who want to rent it to race around and smoke in it, etc. Terrible experience as an owner. I personally would not suggest putting any vehicle on Turo that fetches less than $200 a day.
Glad your experience has been good so far. That wrap looks great!
I used to host 6 cars on turo, damaged claims were nothing but nightmares. Even now after I've stopped doing turo, my personal car insurance is still tied to accidents that other people had, and I had nothing to do with. Never again Turo, never again
You were not supposed to use your personal insurance with Turo. The claims should have gone through the Turo provided insurance company and should have had nothing to do with you. Outside of the fact that of course your car was out of commission for a little while. There is a chance that Turo’s insurance doesn’t cover the damages and that means that you did not properly take the necessary images to show the proof that your vehicle was not damaged before it went on a tour.
The Cybertruck is a Terminator on wheels. A great vehicle. Haters call me crazy, I don't care.
Being a Turo Host now for the past 2 years going on my 3rd now I’ve gotten the hang of it . We have had a few issues here and there but nothing serious .Rental cover payment if cars and we make money too. So can’t complain just yet . Turo’s customer service is NOT great . But overall it’s been a good experience 😅
Wow. The ppf is amazing. Cybertruck really is a car from the future. The more i see it the more i love it.
This was some good information 💯💪 great video brother
I been following your channel since your vita days now you do cybertruck tech keep doing your thing! I'll be here another 10 years!
Aw man that struck the heart. Thank you, truly!
The PPF looks great. Nice breakdown. It’s great you were able to solve the problem of the negative review & future ones. Those trucks look way better wrapped
Excellent vid - good coverage and straight to the point. Very well done!
You were definently right about it looking better lowered; you've aged gracefully my brother. Love the content keep it going !!
Blessings bro 🙏, I appreciate you! Thank you
that wrap is fire
No hype just great content and to the point. Refreshing.
Really underrated channel. Thank you!
I had my Model S wrapped with PPF and put it on Turo for 5 years. Worked out well, but PPF can still get damage and not cheap to replace. I would do it again on the S. Not wrapping my Cybertruck though when I can just buff out anything from Turo rentals and not have to worry about paint or PPF. The finger prints are an inconvenience, considering doing a metal ceramic coat or ProtectaClear.
Looks very beautiful with the wrap.....
Well articulated video! You just got a new subscriber!
I heard TURO is great until someone crashes the car. That’s when their customer service goes down the gutter. Just be careful
Thanks for this informative report. Nice work.
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching
Good Video, I enjoyed it. Thanks
Very cool experience.
Outstanding video. Great presentation. I (We) like the PPF wrap color.🤑
Congrats on your CT, I see so many here in Miami now. ( I work in Kendall/South Miami), even plenty up by where I live in Davie/Weston area. I am just waiting to get a non FS Cyberbeast( turned down the FS). I also have a model Y LR for the past 3 years with 90,000 miles with zero issues.
Great video, great quality! Looking forward to every single update. Sub’d
how much was the ppf wrap?
😂🤣😂 when the body panel recall forces everyone to redo their 5k wraps to get the parts replaced.
Exactly. Conveniently left out the cost of the wrap
Body panel recall ? .. I think I would wrap mine if I put it on Toro ... Thing is tough enough as it is
Really cool to hear your feedback on this 😃
Great review. Thanks for sharing your experience. I placed an order for a CT, but will probably cancel. I have NO IDEA how long it will take! I will probably get a Model Y instead.
Get the refreshed 3P, it’s almost a baby S plaid, with sub 3 second 0-60, cooled seats, and adaptive suspension. Also about half the cost of an S Plaid. It should hold value better than Y, since Y has the same refresh coming.
Wrap is beautiful. What color is that?
*You have a lot of common sense. New Sub here.*
Can you share some details on which ppf wrap you used, your truck looks better then others I've seen with ppf.
Windex for quick fingerprint removal.
What color ppf does it have and the brand. Thanks for the video. Looks great.
I was gonna ask that question too. If it looks like it has some kind tint, not just clear PPF.
I did Turo a while back. It was great until I had to deal with Turo insurance. The car was not drivable so we couldn’t use the car or rent the car out while dealing with insurance. It was 2-3 months if I remember correctly. Worst experience ever. Good luck with your car.
What beach did you take those photos at? They came out amazing!
Nicholas since you are in South Florida who did you use to do the ppf rap I am waiting for my Beast and want to get it wrapped and if you don't mind letting me know how much was it. Great video by the way.
The location is called SNS Visuals. A friend named Shane owns the spot. They do great work!
@@NicholasMarcelin thanks once I received my beast I'll looked them up
just got my Vin last week
What material and color is your wrap on the Cybertruck? Thank you
Did they even use your car for hauling furniture and etc?
Awesome wrap, what color?
Lots of 100k+ vehicles on the road these days. My insurance only covers 40k liability 😮😢
Me 2 have black model y about to get cybertruck
Looks great what color PPF do you have ?
Got it platinum pure PPF. Looks amazing ❤️❤️👍
Great recap. But my neighbors did hear me laugh when you said ‘don’t buy one and put it on Turo and compete with me.’ First, it’s going to vary wildly city by city; b) you have no idea who these people are - if they have cash to make the payments then it’s their choice. Many Turo just to get part of their monthly nut covered.
Thanks for watching! I think you slightly misunderstood my message there. I never said you should not put one on Turo, what I said was not to buy one with the intentions of making a profit solely on Turo TODAY. By the time you get your vehicle, which is about three months after your order, your ROI is not gonna be great enough to justify that 100k purchase. You’ll be left with a high risk vehicle by the next year as more and more of these are produced. It’s not a good business move if you are purchasing it solely for profit.
However, I did suggest that it’s a good idea for those who already was going to buy one for personal use, those who already have one, or anyone just trying to help with the payment. Specifically those who have a second car like in my situation.
Are guests expected to charge it? What if they run out?
I had 7 Cars on Turo last couple of years, All Camry Hybrids, 2 customers were invloved in an accident, Turo was very bad handling the claim through their insurance, their customer service is the worst, I am down to 3 cars now
Try and damage it. HOLD MY BEER!!!
2k is really really really low for CT, i have 5 CT and average 7k each month for the past 3 month, my highest one did 11k last month
How much did the ppf cost? Seems like that would cut into the profit for quite a while. Was that $2000 gross or net? Excellent presentation.
I believe he said net
Went back and watched the part of the video where he talks about the $2000 profit and he does’t say net or gross. He shows a screenshot that I’m guessing is from Turo showing his profit, so I’m guessing he’s not taking into account the ppf. However, if you look at the ppf as something he wanted to do anyway then I guess it doesn’t have to be part of the calculation. I’ve seen a few Cybertrucks whizzing down the road, in shining stainless steel. Impressive in a way, but I’m not a fan. Spending thousands of dollars to prevent fingerprints is one of several things I don’t like. To each their own.
@@Molishious he spent $5k on the PPF, so he lost $3k
@@pedrohizzle2835 I surprises me that people are okay with spending so much on a truck that they then feel needs thousands of dollars of investment. I guess it can pencil out for a CZcamsr, but for everyone else it would seem to me that you’d be better off starting with a painted truck as fingerprints seem much more of a threat than bullets for most of us. But I find it entertaining to see this play out.
@@Molishious Definitely, the only people buying a Cybertruck are the ones looking for toys, normal people in need of a truck should look elsewhere. Thats the general consensus. At least until Tesla fixes all the problems with it (which i feel like might be unlikely due to how some of these problems are severe design flaws)
👍
Did you PPF your model Y also?
I did not. It’s just the original multicoat color
Can you tell the renters not to smoke?
How much does it cost to replace the damaged PPF?
You’d replace it per panel. So since there was 11 pieces at about $3k total cost, I’d say roughly $275 per panel. Now of course that’s an extremely rough estimate as each panel is differently sized. But you get the idea. The beautiful part about PPF however is that it is 10x thicker than vinyl and is self healing when introduced to heat. So scratches and light chips shouldnt Merritt a replacement anyway.
$20,000 in a year profit for CT that will drop $20,000 in value after 1 year puts you in a negative after you include your time. You have 1 year until Tesla does price drops. That means even if you don't put a single mile on your CT, you have to lower the price. Add the wear and tear plus mileage after 1 year.
You must know nothing about cars. The Cybertruck by next year will not have lost $20,000 in value. Yes, Tesla may do price cuts in the future, but original first production cars will not be that depreciated in just a year, especially such a high demand eye catching car.
@@mannyislikethat So the price drops of every single Tesla never happened? Tesla didn't just release a refresh model 3 just a few months ago that's about $5K more value for the same price as old model? And 2023 3 didn't drop in price on the used market just now?
@@mannyislikethat Did S X Y not drop recently in price? the S X cheaper or expensive? How about Elon that recently promised to cut the price down of CT? CT cylindrical battery pack too expensive to make? Or not?
true. Actually, I expect a $30k drop in one year.
@@mannyislikethat yes they will. They are almost selling for msrp now on the secondary market
What kind of ppf was it
I want to buy a cybertruck and rent it out on TURO. I live on PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) in Huntington Beach, CA. across the street from the ocean. There are no others for rent in the area? What are ur thoughts??
I’d wait till the price drops after foundation series, then it might be a good idea!
@@NicholasMarcelin and then there will be 100 on turo
you look like jidion if he was skinnier
Lol, he PPF'd a car with no paint.
What does the first 'P' stand for???
correction: SPF
I want to rent my car on Turo
But like why do does a company make a car with stables steel when you need to put a wrap on it?
Because renters don’t want to deal with the fingerprints and the smudges. It was very difficult to keep clean. It was mentioned in the video
It's not a renter's responsibility to clean your car or truck or even understand why it is not clean.
I agree. That’s what the wrap was for. Problem solved. No fingerprints, very easy to clean.
Indestructible....hmmmm
You put your $100K car on a rental pool to a complete stranger and trust them with your insurance. I am not sure if this is the right thing to do....I would not have done it. But then again, if I can't afford to purchase a car with cash.....that means I can't afford the car. Just my thoughts. Free country and I am entitled to my opinion
Don’t be such a c o w a r d, Relax with the disclaimer at the end
Yes dude it’s a free country and it’s a simple CZcams comment no one cares relax
Who cares
Well you're entitled to it, but your "opinion" is categorically wrong.
Especially since you've said something that makes it clear, that you didn't actually watch the video.
You use turo insurance. Not your own personal insurance. It’s a rental business. Customer also has to buy insurance or have their own personal insurance or risk paying out of pocket. You lose nothing really.
this is actually the perfect vehicle to list on Turo
Money making machine 👌👌👌👌
7535 ft lbs of torque HA HA better fix your ad on stupid easy rentals
A week and a half to wrap the easiest car to wrap!?!?
Let’s be honest you made nothing. That wrap was how much?
The wrap was about $3k, it was done by a friend. So I made over $2k in profit. The car note is $1,200/month meaning it would take about 3 months to make the PPF payment. Like all businesses there are upfront costs and future profits it’s called an ROI
@@NicholasMarcelinWhat’s the brand and color of the wrap? It looks gorgeous
The PPF looks fantastic !!! I’m in Kendall….. who did the PPF??? I had the front of my LRMY done in coral gables…..but now I’m thinking about doing a tint…. Looks great!
you should have wrapped it before putting in anywhere really, the steel is awful.
Residual income? you still need to post the car you have to clean the car you have to meet with the person you have to clean the inside of the car... this is not residual this is just an additional source of income which is great and I'm happy for you!
Residual income would be a dividend paying stock. Interest from a high yield savings account. Royalties from a song or book. Royalties when you don't have to put additional effort into making money or else is just another job... which is great!
This is a profitable side hustle.
Nah, it’s residual. Residual income is another way of saying passive income. Which means, you set up a business and the business runs in the background independently from you and you make a profit from it. This is that. You post the vehicle on the platform once. Which can be a kin to purchasing a portfolio of stocks for the first time. You can set scheduled messages to automatically speak to guests. Since this is a Tesla, everything is remote. We leave the vehicle parked in a designated parking spot, and the guest picks it up later. We have charging on site and don’t have to worry about that. Guests should be returning the vehicle at the same level of charge anyway.
Like I said in the video, yes, my first booking was in person, but you can do all of them remotely thereafter. Turo takes care of the rest.
The only major concern is cleaning then. I do this once or twice a month, but mostly my assistant from my photography studio handles that, which is where the truck resides anyway when a booking is approaching.
Just like stocks, or real estate investments, you periodically have to check in on your investment. Move things around, reinvest for example. But for the most part, you sit back and watch. Which is literally what I do through the Turo and Tesla apps. Turo is not passive income for everyone, but with the tools at my disposal, it is for me. A good way to gauge if something is truly passive, is if you can take a long vacation elsewhere and not have to worry about the business running successfully. I just came from a two week cruise. I stand by what I said, But thanks for watching!
@@NicholasMarcelin Owning properties is not a residual income unless you hire a property manager. If you have to put any of your own effort into a project it can no longer be a residual. If you own a property and save money on the side to cover when the house is not rented and you have a property manager then it's a residual if you have profits.
If you're using resources from another business to clean the cars then yes it would be a residual if you used the profits from the car to pay back the original business that lends you the human resources.
We can both agree that listing a car on Turo and having to clean it and to deal with insurance claims is not the same as somebody who has 10 million dollars in treasury bonds and are getting a residuals from the government.
Again I'm happy for your success and your Tesla and your entrepreneurial mindset I just wanted to give my opinion on the terminology have a good day take care!!
This is a profitable side hustle...
I wouldn't drive one, either.
indestructable? ok
if you own two cars why have two with the same limitations. isn't it better to have two cars that complement each other?
If they are both awesome, any 'limitations' are not important.
Probably not a good idea
Why do you keep calling Cyber Truck a car?.
I’ll just leave this here:
“A car, also know as an automobile, is a motor vehicle normally with four wheels. Most definitions of cars state that they run primarily on roads, and seat one to eight people.”
I can damage your car just give me 1 minute behind the wheel 👀
😂🤣
The monthly earnings will be nowhere near the depreciation.. Enjoy.
This is irrelevant. Are you aware that every vehicle depreciates? Moreso, even if the vehicle depreciated to half, if the truck maintains this profit flow. In about 2.5 years, I can sell the truck at a profit. Even if it depreciated from 100k to 20k. This only applies to people who aren’t using this vehicle as a business expense. But thanks for watching.
@@NicholasMarcelin the hype will be gone soon enough and people won't rent them or be paying the same. All cars depreciate but the CT is another story..
@@hobo1704 a base Model X 2022, which is a 2 year old car is currently going for $120 - $150/day on the platform. Less than 10 days of rentals at that price would continue to pay the car note of this vehicle. That’s a depreciation of 60% per day in revenue. It would still be profitable
