Sultan Murad (Metin Akdülger) learns that Kösem Sultan wanted to kill him. Sultan Murad learns that his governor has agreed with the physician and sends Emir Çelebi's head to Kösem Sultan (Nurgül Yeşilçay). Valide Kösem Sultan, who learned that Sinan Pasha was a traitor, realizes that he has been exposed. Helpless corners. Knowing that Sultan Murad will not stop anymore, Kösem Sultan takes measures to protect Şehzade İbrahim.
Sultan Murad IV conquers Baghdad, despite all the measures of the novices. Kemankeş appointed Mustafa Pasha as the Grand Vizier and sent him to Shah Safi.

Look at how those cute babies and nice children turn out, in both series. Perhaps Mehmet, Hurrem's first son, was lucky to die at 21 after all. All those powerful sultans and their beautiful concubines didn't bring up normal children who would develop into good people with basic moral values, and if there were exceptions, they were either killed or psychologically destroyed by toxic power.

Also, why put all the blame on the mothers? Mehmed ii made the law for the Sultan to kill his brothers, and some Sultans (Suleiman i and Mehmed iii) even had their sons executed.
Kösem's actress performance in this scene was something else
Poor Kasim. This is very hard to see that one of your son kils another of your son, his brother and he want kill another one. When Kösem heard Ibrahim is alive and she is asking him "Ibrahim where are you?", It is very heartbreaking. So sad scene. Nurgul as Kösem played very well. Ridvan was awesome as well. One of the most perfect and also one of the most saddest scene of this season. That music is best.

This is why I don’t blame Kosem for her pursuit and attempt to dethrone Murad. He’s always been a cruel Sultan but at this point he turned into a vile and merciless monster. I can’t believe some people relentlessly argue otherwise that Kosem is in the wrong
But the thing is Murad killed kasim because of kosem sultan. She wanted to dethrone him and wanted to rule the empire by herself. She lead Murad's to this and Murad knew that his mother will one day kill kasim too because of power!
The reason people relentlessly argue against Kosem is because of the harsh reality. Kosem was power hungry and she was gradually starting to realize that she was descending into pure evil just to assert her power (don't know if you finished the series but at the end there's a scene where she regrets ever transitioning from Anastasia to Kosem...she literally turned into Safiye 2.0).
As for Murad, yes one of the reasons he was ruthless was because he legit saw his older brother get strangled in front of him, the trauma persisted as he grew older and when he decided to rule the empire himself so that he does not wind up like Osman or Mehmet, his mother went against him and used Kasim to dethrone him. So yes, Murad may be a monster but he has all the reasons of being so.

@@cliffgaither no he kill him because kosem poisons murad and when murad was fighting with the poison she gathered all people and start making qasim the next sultan but when was going to sit on the throne murad come and stop them and put qasim into jail and punish him he only came to see qasim death body but ibrahim and kosem came in his way and kosem think that he is going to kill Ibrahim but he is not
Dont say him killer he loves her family very much yes you will say kosem who was defending ibrahim called her killer because she was selfish she kills sultan murad wife farya sultan and her daughter husband selehtar and they both are very good sultan murad loves her wife alot and he also knows that his mother kills her but dont do anything kosem sultan was this kind of selfish that she kills her own daughter husband and ruined her daughter life
She tries to kill murad and make qasim the next sultan but because of her fault qasim got killed
Atlast she also killed sultan murad
And make Ibrahim the next sultan Ibrahim was her last son and after a few years she also kill him
And when Ibrahim wife knows that he got killed she attacked castle and killed kosem sultan and become next valide sultana and Ibrahim son become next sultan
I dont say that she is bad from start
