    The outpatient clinic I work at is super short staffed. Most days I have to room my own pt., triage, phones, faxing, treatments, procedures, nurse visits, and help with a total of 3-4 providers who do not have their own nurse or MA. It gets crazy some days. I will be so happy when we are staffed. Also, I only work their part-time and pick-up shifts inpatient (med-sur/intermediate).

    I was considering LPN because I don’t like the nursing home & hospital setting ima cna and i dislike the stress on my body. I thought about forgetting about the medical field altogether if I can’t work in a clinical setting.

    Heyy...I've haven't saw you since nursing school, but you were a great help and inspiration through your vids before I even started in 2020 and during. I can gladly say I survived nursing school during Covid 19 when it 1st started 😳...it was a nightmare 😭😭!!! Needless to say, I made it by the grace of Jesus Christ 💃🏾💃🏾!!! Thanks for sharing I'm def taking notes..I decided to do corrections for now 😓..but I love it..the pay is GREAT too!!!

      Hiii aww congrats on graduating & starting on your journey !!! 💕💕💕I could only imagine how difficult it had to be during the pandemic trying to get through nursing school. I’m glad you survived it all ❤️❤️❤️ & im happy to be some sort of motivation. That means a lot to me & I appreciate that ! ::hugs::🥰🥰🥰 & I was thinking about corrections at one point also but I know too many ppl at the closest corrections facility to me 🥴 ( lol employee-wise & an inmate ) I rather not lol. But I have heard they do pay well!!

    the biggest con for me is 9-5. how have you adapted to that schedule? any tips in dealing with that

    • @carynjoi
      @carynjoi  Před 2 lety +2

      Hi - I would say it really depends on your lifestyle. I have a child that my schedule serves, though I do feel like working 9-5 takes up your entire day which I don’t personally care for. For me, I’d rather work a later shift OR have at least one week day off (which some practices / outpatient centers do allow & you just pick up a weekend shift). If you’re coming into the 9-5 its just all about planning as you would with any other shift.
      Sleep, Travel & family time are critical to me. So I make sure I’m home by a certain time to tend to my son AND hopefully get enough sleep until I’m up and at it again. I’ve worked 9-5’s before I became a nurse and a mom & I could get through it easy, but my lifestyle & career has changed so I’m currently considering a more flexible work schedule. It really comes down to your personal preference & how it’ll affect you.

    Hello would you be willing to fill out a form for an interview as a public health professional? My name is Priya Sasidharan, a 3rd year in highschool currently taking a Public Health college course, and this is a required assignment. Apologies for the disturbance, but I would love your input. 😊

    I would love to work at an md office as a nurse but I don’t want to be the only one cause I don’t want those ppl stressing me out if I’m not at work one day

    • @carynjoi
      @carynjoi  Před 2 lety

      If you’re in an office that knows they’ll need more than one nurse to accommodate the work flow it shouldn’t be an issue for you to take off. Everyone needs their time. Very small private offices may be more selective in having 1 or 2 nurses but will also have MA’s. But don’t shy away from the idea of it. You may love the experience of working outpatient.
