      @@user-zf4yz2iu9s I found a school that didn’t have a long waiting list and worked as an MA for awhile to get some experience in the medical field. I’m not sure how it works in other states but I had to take a test and score high enough and then I had to do an interview and they asked me why I wanted to be a sonographer and why I would be a good candidate for the program. Do your research and find out what each program is looking for and then from there you can start preparing, don’t get discouraged if it doesn’t happen on the first try a lot of people have to try a couple times before they get accepted. Just curious because I was gifted some money for scrubs and I know I’m a tad ahead of myself but I went out and bought some scrub material jogger pant at least to wear to school because they won’t have out uniform scrubs for the first two weeks and said we could wear something similar within dress code! Hi. This is very helpful to see what a MA in OB/GYN office does. I like to know how you clear the tray after a procedure that has sharps (needle, or/and dermablade/ scalpel). My provider added the dermablade during the procedure after the tray has been prepared and didn't get a chance to tell us. I missed it when cleaning up and should have put it in the sharps container. How do you go through all the "trash" bound material in a tray after a procedure and check for / pull out sharps . The provider did check with us after the tray has been cleaned and asked about it though. Thanks

    This may be a weird questions but I always assumed this job was mainly for people who wanted to become nurses but wanted this type of experience prior to starting their nursing school journey... I guess my question is is this something that people do as their career (is this your career or are you planning on doing something else)? I am considering doing this but didn't know if it's recommended to move up after so long or if this is something I would be able to do long term? Loved this video!!

    • @sierraaa2000
      @sierraaa2000 Před 3 lety +1

      I think you can bridge from am LPN to an RN if that’s something you would want to do but I don’t think you can bridge from an MA program. That’s for my area at least it may be different for you. If you are planning on continuing I would keep that in mind!

    • @paovalen9944
      @paovalen9944 Před 2 lety +1

      Both MA and LPN can work at doctors’ offices, but MA’s can’t work inpatient as an LPN would. That is something I would have liked to know before getting into MA school but I love it regardless. But if you want to pursue a nursing career, I believe LPN would be the best option between the two, even though both help big time getting to know patient care and the field in general. Good luck!!

      LPN job opportunities will continue to dwindle over time, as more and more nursing positions shift to require candidates with advanced degrees. At this point, it's sort of MA or RN.

I don’t want yo do bedside nursing that’s why I got my RN to go in management but I didn’t learn nothing new in my RN program being a lpn taught me so much.
