THANKS FOR WATCHING!!!!! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Your a hero man, I thought I bought the wrong one or something… COULD NOT FIND MDS. Thank you so much!
So looks like I have to swap the bad sol first before I can do the diablo tune!! Ok here I go, water pump & solenoids, then plan to disable the MDS!! 05 Grand Cherokee 5.7. Thanks for posting this I was truly annoyed by the MDS and read some where this could be done you made my day!
I reapect the fact that you want to get into trying to take on fixing your own car. There are a lot of young people who don't want to do that nowadays. We need more guys like you to keep vehicles going. I am 64 and have in the past changed my oil, alternator, serpentine belt, battery, radiator, some hoses, tensioner and some other things that weren't really that difficult. I would change my oil in the 2003 Mustang GT that I have now but it is more difficult to get to the oil filter and orher parts. You have to have special tools which I don't have. By the way, I am a woman and I love trying to keep up my vehicles when I possibly can do it myself.
I’ve always loved learning about and working on cars. Saves money and to me there’s just something about fixing it yourself that’s very satisfying! I see so many savable vehicles just rotting away it bums me out… hopefully soon I can maybe get into trying to save some of them!!
Went through the same issue with my 5.7 wk2 . Be aware that when you start to get that hemi tick often times metal shavings from the cam are running through your oil and into your engine which can lead to bigger problems. I rode with misfire in cylinder 7 for about a month before getting it rebuilt and the problems ended up being more severe and had to replace the entire engine
I ended up selling it. Didn’t really have the time or proper place to fix it. Ended up being a bad cam and lifters.
Hello
I replaced 4 electromagnets in a Jeep grand Cherokee wk2 6.4 2016. The question is whether they need to be programmed and how to check with a computer whether they work? I'm sorry for my English.
Hello, I have a small problem is that the whole process goes into embraced settings and the option to turn off the MDS system does not appear, I only change the size of the tires and something about the transmission, can someone help me, thank you
Have same truck, Diablo tune is insane. Did you do trans tune yet?
Haven’t messed with the trans yet.. mainly wanted to cut off the mds. Going to mess with it more once it’s up and running 100%!
I was hoping you would have clicked on mds so I could see what your settings look like. I turned my mds off but when I go back in to look at it then it still shows an asterisk next to "on" and I'm wondering if the asterisk should be next to off.
Im almost positive the asterisk is next to the off on mine. Also there will be an asterisk next to the mds option showing it’s been turned off.
@@ZPTVChannel correct... I have the asterisk next to mds but it stays next to the on also.
Does this tuner work on a 2006 grand Cherokee hemi? I have a bad MDS solenoid and want to disable MDS instead of do the costly repair. Any insight would really help! I’m a bit lost.
It should! But I know sometimes if the solenoid is faulty it won’t let you turn it off… honestly if it is just a bad solenoid I believe it’s right under the intake manifold and that’s not bad at all to do!
@@ZPTVChannelhm interesting. That would suck to buy it and have it not work. Yeah I haven’t looked into it much to replace the solenoid. Appreciate the feedback
@tylerblodgett3489 no problem!
How many miles do you have on your Jeep? How do you like it now that 4 months have gone past? Wife has the same Jeep and it has the same tick.
It had about 145,xxx miles on it. We ended up selling it because we didn’t have the time or money really to put into fixing it… we loved it though if it didn’t have the tick we would still have it lol
As soon as you bought it you went straight to deleting the mds or if there a tuner that has to be downloaded?
There are pre downloaded tunes you can program!
Does the tuner have any settings for deleting the governor?
Yes! I left it on in this case though because it was the wife’s car lol
@@ZPTVChannel so you can remove the governor with that tuner? Is it straightforward?
@@jonh2408 yes! And extremely straight forward! I’m pretty sure when you click on the setting it’s just a on or off setting. I can’t remember exactly if it’s called governor or speed limiter in the settings but long story short yes you can turn it off and yes it’s super easy!
This mds turn off increment mpg??
If your meaning instant mpg, no. It still displays the instant mpg and average mpg!
I hate that cylinder deactivation system. It doesn't matter which car it is. Its a garbage system. It's all I have to say.
Right! It seems great on paper but honestly I feel like it does more harm than good.
What’s MDS
It’s the multi-displacement system. It basically turns the engine into a 4 cylinder under low load or on the hwy and then will engage the other 4 cylinders when needed. It’s a huge failure point in these.
It’s only on the 5.7v8. the v6 doesn’t have it and I’m almost positive the srt8,which I believe is the 6.4v8, doesn’t have it either.
@@ZPTVChannel I have a 5.7 hemi in my jeep so does that mean I have it haha
@@ZPTVChannel thank you
@@ZPTVChannel only way to remove it is buy getting a tune right ? I’m assuming haha
