Not mentioned is that trade routes no longer make goods more expensive in the exporting market than the importing market. Game is now playable
Can you explain what was happening beforehand? Will it now have a limit as to how much you can export?
@@joeottolino8928 It's supply and demand. If a market exports, the market gains money, but after the export, there is less supply of the good.
Thus, prices go up locally.
I'm not sure what the issue.
@@SangoProductions213 Yeah but why would they sell it abroad if prices locally are better.
Why they changed it? It's actually makes sense lmao
@@azathot_369 i'll be back ill read the full changes and see if they did it ... but this is the internet ... in which you cannot be arrested for your stupidity
Paradox is seriously tooting its own horn after snapping the horn in half.
The game *should* have had most of this stuff before, the fact paradox is seriously saying "free" update is sucky af. This shouldn't be just free, this is legit things that should have been in the base game. Using free sounds like they're spoiling us like "Oh here you go, we care about you and the game so much by giving you this free update!"
It's like giving someone a broken chair, and upon being asked to fix the chair you make a big deal about how humble you are.
Ok Cow
TUNISIA IS IN THE VIDEO! MUM, WE MADE IT!
For real though, huge update that'll breathe life into the game - excited to see where this goes.
What are you doing here? Sicily needs you!
Did we beat Morocco?
I may or may not have been using my own person games to do the game capture for this.
Kinda wild that these features weren't in there at launch.
I agree but at least they added it for free lol
@@TheCosmicGuy0111 If they didn't, i doubt the headquarters would still be standing lmao.
Great early and mid game. Glad there have been performance improvements to the late game. One thing not mentioned here, so probably not fixed, is pricing for electricity and transportation markets. They seem to be handled globally, instead of locally. But they are services, and so should be priced locally. Pricing should be highly sensitive to surpluses and shortages, so that they have right amount of workers. As it was, the price of electricity lingered around 15 regardless and so other industries would attract workers from it in the late game when the labour market is tight. The resulting power shortages will crash your economy.
I love the quality of life changes. Now wars won't be totally RNG.
Wars are still straight up boring unfortunately
@@firebird4491 It's very depends tho, yea in eu4 wars are fun but only first 50 years after that you litreally try to vassal everyone because sieging 100 provinces is so boring. That is all about vassal swarm tactic :D Hoi4 is probly the best one for war ofc. You can fight automaticly and manually depends on your play.
@@firebird4491 Yep, I miss having to redirect my focus from my campaign to chasing a small stack of whatever German state army that keeps running around in my territory or the random super stacked Portuguese army in California.
@@TheRacy Oh no a minor inconvenience! Time to dumb down the war mechanic to where you virtually never have to pay attention to it!
Never mind the players who want to build up their economies and colonial empires with the goal in mind of having a massive badass war with the competing empires in a WW1 like situation.
@@TheRacyYou got destroyed.
Lot of Good stuff here, definitely a step in the right direction.
2:27 "The AI is now smarter than ever"
*Timelapse shows like 20 revolts in 3 seconds and Confederate American Great Plains
at least Germany was there.
Wanted to point that out, "lets show how good our AI is by showing a sped up timelapse of how shit the AI is"
Reviews about the game have been positive with this update. First thing I do tomorrow is buy the game.
yea I wouldn't, game is still hot garbage
I'd like a map mode for resources - it's difficult to believe there isn't one.
If you select a trade good it activates a lens for that good’s production/usage. Not sure if this is what you’re looking for but that’s the only way I know of to quickly scan territory for a resource.
If you mean a trade goods map mode like Eu4 or vic2, that would not be possible as there are multiple resources in any state. But as the above comment mentions, when you open the tab for a specific good, you can see the potential map mode for that good, ie. how much of that good can be mined/grown/extracted from the states in the world.
you can view it on the market tab
@@dalibey4511 you cant have overall trade good that is true
but at least let us have a menu full of goods such as iron, coal, gold, etc. that you can select from RATHER than going into market, selecting the good, and showing the potential of the good
Nice, but war still needs lots of improvements!!!!
Also for all of those who say it's free stuff:
It isn't. It is the part of the game we payed for at the underwhelming release, it's just that the rest of the content is making it's way into the game only now. Paradox knows this, the majority of fans know it.
You are alone Loco. There is nothing but darkness for you and death for your nation. I will assemble a great and terrible hugbox, and we will sail to a thousand continents until every light is extinguished. You are strong Loco, but I am beyond strength. The end has come for you Loco
Great, a whiner and a wannabe preacher in one thread. This comment section is wild.
@@mackosmirgl lol it's a vic MP copypasta, deep lore
@@hestvenn That doesn't make it a lot better in any sense, but point partly taken. 😃
The performance update was a game changer. Playing anywhere near western Europe after 50 years was almost impossible on my mid-range pc
Meanwhile over at ck3: More events masked as new 'mechanics' !
The new titles are deeply underwhelming, which makes me scared for what they do to EU5
Good Work honest Vic2 Combat is still superior tho
congrats on releasing patch 0.2
1.2 is out.
I am still waiting for the real release date, not the alpha.
For years I was overhyped for this game to be released. Than it was kind of underwhelming. Now my hope is returning that I will afterall get a serious addiction going afterall.
It was so bad
It’s Paradox, man - the game becomes playable after few patches and DLC’s. ;)
Tbh it was expectable to be bad based on all of the pre-release content. I am still waiting to buy it and will probably wait two more years or so.
@@Psycho250785 bro the whole foundation is shakey
Still always triggers me when a company labels something as a "Free Update".
Exactly what we needed!
A simplified Hearts of iron IV system in terms of units would be amazing for the combat . -ps also more formables would be great :))))))))
NOOOOO
@Delge yes, it would fix everything
@@delge1554 Someone hates fun
Ah, considering you finally implemented Notification Settings: Will this come to CK3 too?
Just checked the update and its worth redownloading the game.
would be nice if you could make the fight system like in europa universails 4
Really enjoying the new changes! I wish there was a map mode/better visualization or information regarding unemployment.
the way this is going, the game will soon be ready for release.
NOW WITH SOUND & MOVING PICTURES!🔥🔥🔥
THE ABILITY TO CLICK & MUCH MORE.
3 notable changes in the a year... Well, hopefully it continues to get support.
Yes, please!
Very nice. But when will we have multiple generals attacking on a front??
I heard it's currently hard for them to implement, might take a while
Appreciate the free stuff. Though Victoria 3 is mainly an economic and political simulator I dont think the game will grown and maintain high numbers until a fun or least decent enough War system is implemented.
Vic3 is a game about Victorian age period which mind you also includes wars of german and italian unification, as well as ww1, so having shit war system impacts historicity in a major way.
This game's about economy and diplomacy. It's no surprise then that those systems are more in-depth than the war systems. I like it much better this way.
@@MedK001 Victoria 2 was the same and better yet it had a decent war system in comparison to Vic 3. this is not an excuse to make a shit war system.
yeah this is why hoi4 always has extremely high player count because the war sytem is so good compared to the other and that make multiplayer extremely fun
Can I still construct special buildings multiple times even though they are meant to be built only once?
Like building lvls of the panama canal
It runs smoothly now
Paradox como siempre glorificando características que DEBERIA tener el juego en su día de lanzamiento...
This should have been the release ngl
they use us as a experiment of their trial and error and obviously making money with dlc in the long run
That's how paradox games work
@Dark Secret at least they don't abandon it like Imperator
Pax is now playing Lords of Infinity.
Can we PLEASE get a message notification settings system in Stellaris as well!
Road to Imperator Rome 📉 lol
Can you build a currency system? I saw a country in Asia, they have their own market, they don't export anything but import everything, the level of living standards is high while they buy imported goods with gold? That country doesn't have a gold mine.
Honestly it is kind of funny how most of the things we see in this update, could or even should have been added on game release and not in an update.
For example, Notification settings, Is it that the entire Paradox development team has collective amnesia on quality of life features?
It feels like every new release has to go through these growing pains when it could have been avoided if Paradox put just a bit more effort into making their games shine.
Regardless though, it is good to see that these things are finally being added and hopefully soon the War system will get a complete overhaul which it desperatly needs as the focus points system sounds like a bandaid solution to the bigger issues at hand.
Honestly the should've had Vicky3 in development for another 6-12 months
Finally game is playable
I suggest that a religion map mode is added.
That’s great🎉
6.3/9 of these updates were features in Victoria 2.
When is the War Update or DLC releasing
Does 1.2 have text chat yet? Not gonna buy a multiplayer game that doesn't even have the most basic requirement of a multiplayer game, a built in method of communication, and before you say "just use discord" how do I share my discord link with people I join through the in game session browser?
Does anyone know did they fix the bug where our armies suddenly tp'ed back from their frontlines to their hqs?
I like how Paradox makes this game or other franchise more interesting. Statistics 📈📊
Awesome update! Was hoping for yellow Prussia though.
in Twenty Twenty Three... We Can Re-bind a Key????......... What a Time To be Alive.....
Please, give us a possibility to create own puppets as and where we want (and possibility to give them lands we want to give)
Each state deserve to be free! X)
What for is it?
"We added in game music player!"
-Yeah, you had it in your previous games, so why did you not include it in V3 earlier?
"But we also added rebindable keys!"
-You... didn't?... *facepalm*... You didn't have rebindable keys at launch?!
the performance was better in the beta than it is now. Why does that happen? Also, my backspace can't pause the game anymore
i got so excited, started playing, went to war in africa, i was winning, my general died, my army fucking teleported 6000 km away and it would take 60 days for them to return, at which point i just quit the game...
please for the love of god fix the horrible war system, every single time i return to the game i just end up quitting because of it, it is the only thing that makes this game unplayable, i super enjoy building my economy, and what not.. but the combat system just ruins the game..
i mean yeah just compare vicy 3 to any paradox game player count wonder why it is so low maybe because you cant activly play the game cause the war system is garbage
YEEEEEEEEEES
I like victoria 3 a lot but it's a shame that I can't finish a campaign because the game slows down to like half of speed 1 late game. their demo at the end is cap. if you are active in the world and conquer a lot then pops will migrate all over your empire and cause the lag to be insane. the demo at the end probably has not really conquered or colonized a lot.
that is true but they did just say in this video that this patch will make it better.
@@VintoPinto it probably does make it "better" but it is still busted if you have a huge empire that has a lot of internal migration. I played 2 campaigns on 1.2 and both of them slowed to a crawl by 1920
@@lavabeard5939 that doesn't happen in Victoria 2
Must be because of how Vic 3 tracks pops
Hey, not to seem to add things to your obviously endless to-do list, but can you make Dominions and Puppets such as those of New South Wales and Lower and Upper Canada more useful?
Like Focus Trees for them, or mechanics to make them, with player growth, actually useful?
Because at present, without a player, they are utterly useless and seem completely at chance to 50/50 fail or survive.
I respect a lot that it's free
Why wouldn’t it? I Suspect that there is a fine line of reason to making something a dlc and not a dlc - and I also suspect they know this line of reason very well.
@@chrisscott6254 paradox is known for not respecting that line very often. It is a step in the right direction to see them attempt to fix their game and not charge 20 bucks for an expansion you cant play without
@@shinglemcdingle4093 vcs ficam dizendo isso mais aqui no brasil tem dlc por 100 real sendo que o salario mínimo é de 1000
@@shinglemcdingle4093 Ah but you CAN play without them. There is a difference between free bug fixing and what is claimed to be “necessary expansions that you can not play without” - If paradox and other companies were having people *pay* for that bug fixing, which is actually essential to playing within their own game, then I can see your point.
But at the moment, that is not how it is. Sure the experience _will not be as good_ without the Downloadable Content - That is True - but that DLC is Extra content to the game. But that is not necessarily needed to _play_ the original game itself.
@@shinglemcdingle4093 The dev team for this game knows that the game is currently subpar and was subpar at launch, so right now they're focusing on improving the basics before going deeper
Just wish they didn't remove the easy way to change tarrifs of goods, now I have to click on them to bring me to their tab so I can figure out if I want export or import.....
I think you might be able to use the right-click context menu on each good to set tariffs; I often use that on the market outliner for my most under/over produced goods
oh boy a free patch xD
Finally I can make screenshots by pressing F12 and not open the journal
wow
Tbh , with paradox I'm supprised patches are not released as DLC

_peeks at the USA_
What in Abraham's Lincoln's name is going on
And why does Korea own parts of China????
Its funny how the changes should have been in the game from the start
Game is running like fucking Lightning right now. Thanks for optimalisation changes
Autonmonous investments, notification settings, music player, pop needs, and those 3 map modes. All day 1 things one year later.
pls paradox add some route for land trade, why trade is always need port how about the land route?
There is, it's limited tho
Will you make historical borders in Africa?
They'll probably do it eventually, if not or only with a dlc, then there's still gonna be mods that improve africa
I have a question. Does anyone suggest this game in good faith? I would love to Purchase it. But I'm looking for a finished good. Not premature release material. Either way I will pick it up one day, just a matter of timing.
Anyways would love to hear feedback from players.
I would say it is at the state it should have been in at release. I would wait another 6 months or until it goes on sale
It's a fun game, they've really made a decent economic management strategy game. The diplomatic and political aspects of the game aren't at the level where players (or the devs tbh) are satisfied. I'm glad I own it and can play it, but it will be a much better game in 4-6 months.
It's on sale right now. I say go for it
Its a good game but it is not great, yet.
Honestly, with 1.2 coming out, if you're a fan of economics, supply chains and nation building in general then you can pick it up and have fun for the first 100 hours atleast, which is imo a decent investment for your money. You can fish for sales or just sail the seven seas to test the waters if you're still unsure, but the game is very much playable and enjoyable as it is rn
Can you please give Xbox game pass access to Victoria 3? I really want to play it
I enjoy paradox games for war not a fan of the whole economy side but its fine
Vic3 might not be the game for you then sadly
@@backstabber3537 I know but most paradox games have a better war mechanic I pre ordered Vic 3 and wanted to die

Sorry guys games not done yet, check back in another year
Please tell the HOI4 team about the concept of rebinding keys 😅
Make Warfare Great Again
be back next year...
No newspaper? Pretty look warm if you ask me.
Victoria 3 | 1.2 Update is the title and in stead we get a 42 second advert about the game.
This need a complete rework, even more than stellaris did
"We introduced a new system to rebind keys"
hahhahahahaahhahaahahahhahaha
Fin Italian unification bug.
I don't like how they show the "increased game speed" with 306 total construction and 0 in use in 1924.
I hope an update for being able to play natives american.
Took them a year to release a patch that should of only taken them a couple of months, honestly as much as I appreciated this, it is unacceptable.
Is that Ben?
Perhaps...
lol they sped up the video when showing off the "improved" late game speed
Even of they did that if you play the game you notice the difference in performance
“The free update!” Dont you say? Gotta fix the “game” you launched. I really enjoyed paying you to be a beta tester!
Fix the command economi system its broken as all hell
Fix the military system.
fix lag more
When xbox
It's a step in the right direction. Y'all still need to:
- add unit sprites on the map
- add battle graphics on the map (it is ridiculous how the map has AMAZING visuals but there's no battle GFX)
- add flavor for the major countries
- fix the American Civil War
- make politics and laws less RNG
- fix the game running at 10 FPS whenever there's a lot of trees on the map
- fix literacy rates
- fix migration
- add unique tech trees for tribal/non-European nations
- add westernization mechanic
- make the game more railroaded and less likely to result in wacky scenarios that ruin the immersion
For that last point, i think they should use the HOI4 system and let you toggle between historical and non-historical
there technically are battle graphics.
Fix AVX
Why I feel most of the updated features should have been in 1.0?
It's not nice selling a beta game.
C'mon people it's a Paradox game, it'll be playable in a year behind an expensive dlc.

I hope you re do cultures sometime, I am turkish and I know for a fact that turkish people and most of the supposed middle eastern heritage people do not look like that nor did they dress like that, you took a bedouin way of dressing and architecture and employed it to every single nation that is middle eastern form your perspective. The same goes for EU4 too. I am a huge fan of these games but it has always bothered me to see my own culture portrayed by such an orientalist point of view. There has never been a time Constantinople looked like you made it look, there are palm trees everywhere even in the caucasus and anatolia which is absurd by any standards. It should not be hard to see what our architecture and historic folk clothing looks like with just a quick research tbh and it is just annoying that this is still not addressed, It is much more colourful and has a lot more diversity. Besides all these, the way the cultures are organized right now shows your complete lack of understanding of some cultures mainly in central asian, iranian, levantine and arabian planes. You should at least group turkic peoples together as we speak very close languages that are generally mutually intelligable but they seem to be discriminated until you accept multiculturalism which is again quite absurd. It is just so arbitrary as you can see tatar in european heritage and others in middle eastern?? how so? this makes no sense except for making it more realistic for Russia as they would have to have tatar accepted somehow. Come up with something new please, it is just a shame to see all those cities portrayed as if they were located in yemen with those beautiful graphics.
