      Thanks for watching Daniel! I really enjoy a crispy nut mix of almonds, cashews, and Brazil nuts with some salt! Something about soaking them and dehydrating them makes them irresistible!

      Mine is an old harvest maid dehydrator. You can usually still find them on ebay! They work great! Thanks for watching

    Hey Crystal! I’m wondering if you’ve ever made “crispy nuts” granola style with sweetener and a bit of coconut oil? I stumbled across a product at our local dairy farm and they are soaked and sprouted nuts (pecans, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, coconut, maple syrup and honey and vanilla extract.)
    It was very pricey (understandably because it’s a long process) but I would love to try to make this at home and I’m curious if you’ve already tried it??

      Hey Haley! To make a granola style crispy nut you would follow the soaking procedure and then dehydrating and then gently coat the nuts in maple syrup and coconut oil and roast at 250° stirring often until the nuts are mostly dry but not burned 😋 you could also try dehydrating them a second time inside the dehydrator once they are coated in coconut oil and maple syrup. If you use the dehydrator there's less of a chance of you burning the nuts which I have personally done before and it doesn't taste very good LOL

    I have a couple questions! Can you just keep the Nuts in the jar with raw apple cider vinegar and ferment them? Also can I skip the the dehydration and roasting process and just grind the fermented nuts into butter?

    • @abundantlyblessedhomestead9951
      @abundantlyblessedhomestead9951  Před rokem

      I'm not sure! I've never fermented a nut before! The roasting step gives it the roasted flavor in the peanut butter that most people are accustomed to. If the flavor doesn't bother you then go ahead and skip the roasting process. Nuts like cashews typically don't get roasted before being turned into cashew butter. Thanks for watching 😁

      judith leonbruno, your suggestion for a b h to publish a cookbook is an FANTASTIC idea. i would be in the top 10 to purchase an autographed 1st addition publication. in hindsight judith, a b h uses her "nourishing traditions" cookbook faithfully as a guide to producing her videos. just a kind suggestion to an encouraging thought for a b h.

    Can I use this same process for fermenting oats?

  • @AC_2.4-10

    Does the water have to be warm? And is it necessary to dehydrate before roasting? I don't have a dehydrator and don't want to have my oven on for hours. Thank you!

    • @abundantlyblessedhomestead9951
      @abundantlyblessedhomestead9951  Před rokem

      Hi! The water does need to be warm to activate the process of breaking down the phytic acid in nuts. I've never tried to roast nuts that are wet. If you do, please let me know how that turns out.

      @@abundantlyblessedhomestead9951 Okay; thank you for your reply! I will have to swap out my water now as I had already got them started. 🙂 And I found a recipe online that says after soaking and rinsing to cook at 250 for an hour, then increase to 300 for another 20-30 minutes. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow and can let you know how my PB turns out! I love the name of your channel as well. Blessings to you!
