- The upcoming summer will see clubs across Europe fight for Viktor Gyökeres, the man who has more goal contributions than both Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé at the moment. After quite a few years in England without making a Premier League appearance, he found success at Coventry before exploding this season at Sporting. So, who is Viktor Gyökeres? What are Gyökeres strengths and weaknesses? Have his performances warranted a Gyökeres Arsenal transfer? Here is a Gyökeres scouting report, with help from Danny from All Things Alvalade!

I love how every Scandinavian country now has their own Pace n power striker 😂
I mean sweden already had Isak but still
And Finland have Teemu Pukki.
Sweden is building up! Gyökeres, Isak, Hugo Larsson, Lucas Bergvall, Kulusevski 🤙💪
@@roskis6493also roony
Isak has 0 power but is technically so good
I was surprised no one in the PL picked him up after his time in the Championship, class forward
Everton and West Ham were after him after the Coventry playoffs. But SCP was faster in the negotiations.
He had offers from mid table team, but he chose to move to Portugal.
@@mijo3409 Wolves aswell
TBF it probably is far more fun playing in sunny Lisboa and getting to show your talents in European competitions, rather than spending your days in a rainy Liverpool fighting for survival with Everton.
He is a journey man.. worked hard to get to this point...
And prefer playing for titles than go to a Premier league club fighting for relegation
As a Sporting fan, it has been really a joy to watch Gyokeres play. He is an absolute viking of a monster. But an comparison that I can make to a player that we've seen in the past is to David Trezeguet. A player that rarely offers in the defensive contribution of the game, but in the offensive aspect he is always at right place at the right time. Whether is with one on one confrontations or the power shot to the back of the net. Like I said, very similar to David Trezeguet.
I haven’t watched a full game Sporting game this year but as an Arsenal fan I’m definitely interested. Does he press? Ik you said he doesn’t offer much defence but our side really encourages everyone be a part of the press.
They just said in the video about his tenacity when it comes to running both offensively and defensively?
Did you even watched the video
@@kingkai18the guy is talking out of his ass. He does press when his team don't have possession
@@el-youtub3r402 lol thanks for the clarity, that makes me even more excited to hopefully see him play for us
@@kingkai18 yes he presses all the time hes almost insane , he wont stop running like hes possessed. Incidentaly the david trezeguet comparison is just dumb... ignore him .
He’s been spoken about as the next big thing here in Sweden for a couple of years. Brommapojkarna is my local team, like the ground and training facility is a 15 min walk away from my mother’s house where I grew up. It’s crazy how much talent they have developed considering the club hasn’t been doing too well for a while. Also you did ok with pronunciation the 2nd time.
Gyokeres' best trait is how he can maneuver his physicality. Unlike haaland he can just pick the ball up and run towards a defender.
Now imagine Jardel who scored 52 goals in 39 games for Sporting in 2002. We won league and cup double and he won the european golden shoe. Monster!
I found Gyökeres on FM18. He was not just one of my key players that brought Blackburn to Prem in that save; he was THE key player.
He was amazing for me aswel in 22! The board etc hated him but his attributes were fantastic. Raumdeuting on the wing. Happy to see he’s popping up
I signed Gyorkeres from Brighton in my FM 21 save, and 5 years later, he is worth 175 million on my save.
I just find it funny how good he has become and how he's lived up to his standards
Same I signed Kvicha kavaradona in fm 21 for Newcastle back when he was still playing for Ruben kazen I love FM so much
fm almost ruined my life
@@imranxalamin how dawg
I really hope Arsenal sign him if we decide to get a striker
He fits Arteta's play for the team style as well as his intensity. He has Arsenal written all over him.
Gyökeres with Saka and Martinelli on the wings, Ødegaard and Rice behind. Please Arsenal.
Pay 100M€ and it's yourse
Finally had Adrien mention my club and the pronunciation wasn’t it. Good vid tho
Really fascinating how situation is important in sports
I'm still sad that he rejected the Hungarian call-up, he would be perfect for our system and he wouldn't have an Isak to compete with. But it is what it is.
Sweden could definetely use him if we decided to use 2 striker line up with dejan behind them
@@EmmaWithoutOrgansAs a spurs fan, what do you think of Dejan’s performances for Sweden.
@@randomyoutubecommenter2787If I can answer he (or Forsberg) is probably our most important player even though we played like crap the last few years. Always plays with heart and determination, much more so than Isak who has been poor for us. He also has the quality but hasn’t been used well by our manager. Hopefully our new manager finds him and Isak a better role, and now with Gyökeres our attack looks really good.
@@calle9368lol Isak has basically been mismanaged by your poor NT coaches. He is by far your best player. But sadly you scandinavian farmers prefer work rate over pure quality. That's why Sweden has never won a cup.. look what you did to Ibra. Isak has performed in Spain and now is doing the same in England already. Hopefully he will ignore your call ups, you ignorant swedish farmers.
As a Cov fan I was so sad to see him go but so suprised he didn't end up in the prem. Very glad he's smashing it in Portugal though. Watching him last season it was mad that his finishing was not very clinical but his work rate was so crazy he just kept going at defenders until he scored
If not the premier league, then any of the big three can be an entry check to a big league. Since a lot of teams always scout those 3 clubs. He's doing very well so far
Great work there @6:00 all players shown moved from Portugal to England
8:38 Still managed to squeeze some Joao Failix propaganda in there..lol
Put down his development by the most underrated manager ever. Mark Robins.
trust me, us everton fans are kicking ourselves on this one. for some reason we have a mental block on bringing talent from the championship. missed out on bowen too. back in the moyes days, gyokeres would have been an a1 signing for us
Swansea City legend… ish. Our current owners are dull as door knobs letting this guy go, our management at the time never gave him a chance either… The one that got away.
I want him in Milan so bad.
That would be such a great signing for them
Good one, on paper that team complements him so well
Unless the Arabs put the money forget about it
Under the current rotten core, we'd have to sell either Maignan or Theo for him
As a swede I really hope so too. We have a great history of swedes in Milan and he will get more love there than in Chelsea for example. Zlatan could also help him a lot. But going to Milan isn’t very realistic considering his release clause…
As a Swede, Good pronunciation! Well done 👍🏻👏🏼👏🏼
Coventry not Cuventry Adrian but good essay nonetheless
It breaks my little heart that hes going to leave after one season but what a season its been
Would be amazing if he stay one more year
More than anything he seems to be developing into a leader within his team
When's your vod about Rubin Amorim coming out?
Until now I’ve seen other videos about him I have my own opinion but I find yours more credible ..
He ticks all arsenals boxes for a striker perfectly
What a beast
My friends cousin works for his agent, and he said that when HCM sportsmanagement asked what he could deliver, Viktor said:"I can score you goal, and deliver goals when needed!".. Well they answered something like if you deliver that we can deliver a big european team! Seems to be working pretty well!
THIS MAN IS THE TRURG
You guys forgot something important. Gyökeres is very innovative and unpredictable, features that is very dangerous even against the best defenders in the world!
its extremely fun watching gyökeres highlights. But maybe he isn't the right guy for Arenal. Maybe it is Kai Havertz growing into the 9 at Arsenal, since he can be a target man, he can play with his back to the goal and link up, he is very versatile. I think depending on Arteta wanting Rice on the 6 or the 8 that open slot will be the first area Arsenal will target a major signing on. It's crazy to think Arsenal unlocks Havertz. Chelsea couldn't do it in 3 years when he was the biggest german talent of all times right before he joined them.
Of what you guys describe Gyökeres would be an ideal target for Tottenham or Bayern (to the left of kane).
It definitely isnt oversight.
Its risk management. Prem clubs prefer something closer to an end product most of the time
Cheers!
Coventry made him the player you see now. It's down to avi viveas our assistant manager and coach even though he wasn't keen on Mark Robins paying 1m for him. Lisbons opening offer was 12m lol but our owner played a blinder getting 20m plus 15% sell on clause. This is good business for coventry as he only had a year left on his contract. Another who got sold with one year left on his contract was Gus Hamer was our star midfielder who went for 15m to sheff United who are getting thrashed every week and are bottom.
This guy is such an Arteta coded player. I hope he stays longer at Sporting though
as a benfica fan i really hope not lol
thats how good he is
It wasn't oversight from EPL clubs. It was finances.
Most of the mid table clubs that he would have started at didn't have funds until late in the window. Wolves had a very serious interest in him, would have bought him, but couldn't spend the money on a player of that caliber until after the Nunez sale. And we can see now with Everton and Forest that that decision was the correct thing to do.
Destined to wear the 14 at arsenal 🙏
Sounds pretty good!!.How much would he be worth?. Wouldn't mind Amorim bringing him with him to Liverpool :D
Arsenal need a player like Gyorkeres badly, but imo if Amorim ends up at Liverpool wouldn't be surprised if they come in for him. A striker partnership between him and Nunez would be interesting to say the least. If Salah ends up leaving there would definitely be room for him if you shuffle the team around a bit.
Been saying this for years, the fact United didn't even go after him last summer was shocking to me. Class striker!
Hands of Amo sporting boss only
You should look into the Mexican national team lots of areas and topics to be covered and I think it’s a very interesting period they’re going through and have been going through for the last couple years.
Arsenal for around 170M quid can get the last two pieces they need in our league. João Neves and Gyokeres.
Now he's scored 2 goals in one minute to get us a point against Porto
AC Milan look to me like the perfect landing spot for Viktor next after Lisbon i don't want to see him in England
It's Coventry not Cuventry😁
Gyokers is a very good player, but dont let his ability distract him from the fact sporting tactic realy favours his game
Arteta would love him
As a swede seeing u trying to pronunce brommapojkarna is so funny , it isnt as hard as ur trying to make it
Understand that we're not swede like you, don't expect from us same pronouce like yours
Honestly his attempt wasn't bad at all.
@@carloscapitinealexandremut8898 what
Cuventry ?!
Seriously hope he stays for another year and showcase his worth and play in the UCL because at this point of time he is (unfairly) consider a one season wonder.
I hope he comes to arsenal I think he would take us over the line 👨🍳👏
If anyone thinks a reject wont excel at top clubs, remember bruno fernandes. He came to united at the age of 27. He starts shining in 25 y/o. After two succesful consecutive season, he earned PL transfer to MU. He also was a reject in Serie A.
Mark robins and the coaches at Coventry made him the player he is today , give credit where it’s due
Therez aproblm with epl top team coaches me i believe u can ģet aplayer from league1',2 etc and outshine the current epl players like hervertz nkentiah some players are just not lucky but are really good.aleague 1 player scores 30 plus goals why not get him and give him achance
I think he'll be a One season wonder
gyokeres seems to be a lot like nunez at benfica and this season liverpool. Any team that buys him, hoping they are patient with him
This one is twice the player Nunez ever was in Portugal.
Gyokeres is way more lethal. And is like that for the full 90 minutes. Nightmare player, this coming from a Porto fan
iv seen many videos about him but people in england moaning about the asking price is to high just one season ago he was available cheap at Coventry i dont care how he performs when sporting eventualy sells him sooner or later hes destroying in portugal thats all i care
The collab I didn’t know I needed! Also he’s actually not that good. Maybe another year at sporting to develop will help.

Frm these words this means he is a Luis suarez typo
me coming here doing research before buying him for my footballmanager 24 Liverpool save
He really is just like a mini haaland, not nearly as clinical but more pace power and workrate, a complete powerhouse
Not really he can take on players a thing haaland doesn't do at all
Mini haaland? 😂😂 bro tbh gyökeres has more power than haaland for sure. Just imagine him in City
You obviously put some work into pronouncing that Swedish place, so it's a shame you got cuventry wrong.
He's arsenal bound 😊
Ah, Klop style player
He probably needs to repeat this stats again with sporting... Theres too many overvaluation in terms of Portuguese League for players..
You mean overtalent...talent is expensive!
You mean Benfica players, sponsored by Jorge Mendes (agent) that oversells any of his players so he gets hefty comissions and loves to launder money through wolves. Go check the biggest flops from Portugal then tell me where they came from... sporting just sells quality, and at a lower price than Benfica sells their flops.

Arne slot needs to focus on Liverpool other wise he will lose that manger job to
Saw every game of him this season. From a die hard Sporting fan he sits in the same table as Falcão and Bruno Fernandes in terms of what they done in PT league. Since first game (scored a brilliant brace against vizela, i was there ahhah) i said he would be a phenomenon. What a player. Like they said, not exactly a target man but in the right formation and playstyle he might Become of the very best players in the world in near future.
Hope he brings the championship to Sporting in May💚

@@Piairom from the last 5 years cant name one player besides bernardo silva…
You know what all those names have in common? Every single one came from either Benfica or Porto (except Ugarte, but Ugarte is at PSG, every player sucks once he gets to PSG, cause it isnt a team, its a collection of players). Sporting only sells class. Palhinha, Matheus Nunes, Porro, Bruno Fernandes, etc
Benfica is the biggest flop factory in the world because of their deals with Jorge Mendes (football agent), that uses his connections to oversell the flops so he gets a bigger comission on the deal.
@@josewayy Also, Bernardo Silva left Benfica at 17, he got to where he is because of his time at Monaco, so, its isnt really a "portuguese league move".

Awful first touch. Not for me.
His first touch is fkn excellent. Anyone who has an awful first touch struggles in the portuguese league where they generally have the best first touch in europe.
Apart from the top 5 leagues of Europe the rest of the leagues is mediocre
Portuguese teams have the greatest scouting and youth systems. I wish Benfica had Gyokeres
