    There is no better cooking utensil than a well seasoned cast iron skillet. Plus, they last forever! I like the way you "babied" those brats to get that nice sear on the outside while leaving the inside nice and juicy.

    Ok. I have a cast iron skillet question for YOU since that is your specialty. Lol
    Can you buy a cast iron skillet lid?? I feel that when I cook in a skillet the lid helps speed up the cooking time because it retains the heat. Just saying.

    I never had brats. I always do smokies. Maybe I should give these a try one day. :) lookin yummy. Next time try frying green peppers, onions, and mushrooms while you are cooking the meat because it will give it extra flavor. Also it will save time on frying green peppers, mushrooms, and onions if you do everything at once. :)
    Put all of that on a hot dog bun and yuuummmmmmmm. Ketchup and mustard. That's what I do for my smokies anyway lol.

      I also love sport peppers, on my dogs, or sausages. Not a big fan of bell peppers, unless in a Philly cheese steak. Have you tried the brats yet?

    • @queencupcake09
      @queencupcake09 Před 9 lety

      I never had sport peppers. I have had sweet pepper, red crush peppers, red crush pepper flakes, and sweet peppers. How can you NOT like green peppers. That's the only healthy thing I like lmao. I like all of the bell pepper colors. I make my own relish with red bell pepper, orange or yellow bell pepper, sweet onion simmered in white vinegar for 20 mins. Yummmmmmmmmm. It's called Indian relish.

    • @CastIronCooking
      @CastIronCooking  Před 9 lety

      Google sport peppers. and click images. They are in WalMart, just about every other store, and in any reputable Hot Dog joint. Even Qwik Trip has them. Cherry peppers are also good, if you get the hot kind. I love stuffed bell peppers. I just don't care for them on certain things. But I would still love it your way, but I love it more with just the grilled onions. ;) I also hate regular relish, unless it's dill relish. But your way sounds good. I'm also a big fan of real sauerkraut.
