- Escalivada! This is a very local salad here in Catalonia which you can eat as a salad or a sandwich. If you visit Barcelona you will see it in most Catalan restaurants and especially during summer! It's a very easy and healthy dish that takes almost no effort to make!

Honestly there’s nothing I dislike more than de-skinning roasted peppers. Just something I really dislike. However I very much like this sandwich. Fresh and veggie forward. Great stuff as always chef.

Escalivada Receta looks delicious! I have actually never seen such a huge green onion! Good tip on cutting the cheese, i always botch my cheese, will try this next time! All that beautiful filling with that Fresh bread would be delicious !

Love the tip of wet paper towel. Actually, I was having a hard time at my sister's kitchen because the chopping board keeps moving. Will try this. I like also the tip of the cutting cheese and the taking off the skin of bellpepper... I learned a lot in one video. Haha. Thanks for sharing. :)

haha thank you my friend! yes, fresh bread for me is a big deal! and it's cheap! well, I needed some more salads and healthy things since we are in summer and Escalivada works very well! something new for us! Geoff is! he has helped a lot! haha yes I was, its beach season!! its been 27c here! and there are some nice beaches here. they call some of them (Calas) which are Coves, so great for diving and crystal clear water! and no sharks attacks!! haha
I love Escalivada, I don't know exactly how many times I have eaten this before but it's extremely delicious and the sauce mixed with bread is delicious too, thumbs up for the video, for your positive spirit in order to encourage people to follow the channel before now or during the summer, great job as usual chef

Been making roasted pepper and mozzarella sandwiches for a while. This is a great step up for my sandwich! The tomato juices on the bread is an interesting twist.

I’m totally going to make that sandwich! It looks incredible! I’ve actually seen green onions like that at one store around me in CA! I wasn’t sure if they were different than normal green onions but sounds like they just let them grow longer?
Oh and I’m also SO jealous you can walk next door and get fresh, hot bread!!
Neither did I! Really!?? they have some things here that I never saw back home. like paraguayos. They let most onions grow more plus other veggies and fruit too. like lemons, some are bigger than a baseball! haha
hahaha having bakeries next door is a very European thing! but there are things I miss back home! like peanut butter everywhere! :) have a great week!

Hi James. Im actually allergic to onions (but I can have the green part of the onions. The part you cut off your onions! The substance I cant have is in the root of the onions. Its called fructans. Read about it if you want to :) ) Can I use the green part, and cook it in the oven like the onions? How thick will I need to cut them you think? I want to try this, but at the same time I do not want to get ill. :)
you can but it will not be the same and you don't have to cook it for as long.
