    I just bought a new Tiger Cat 2 with the 27hp Yamaha. Used it once and it's squirrelly as hell. My first zero turn. Looking forward to seeing what it can do once I learn it. I just use it at home. 1/4 acre lot.

      @pandhlawncare  Před 9 měsíci

      That may be over kill for a 1/4 acre lot. You will definately cut down on mowing time. If its your first zero turn you will find it can do amazing things, its a great mower especially with that new engine, is it not a kawasaki?

    All mowers cut good in normal conditions. Scag excel at cutting in most all conditions. Velocity plus deck handles large volumes of grass like you just showed as well as leaving a manicured cut on normal yards. I just picked up a new property that was over a foot tall. I double cut it with my 61" turf tiger at 3.5" an cleaned it right up.

    I have the exact same mower that I just use for my property. I live on 9 acres. I tried to cut down the field behind my house thst was overgrown and 3 of the bolts that hold the engine in place broke which caused the engine to slide sideways and snapped the belt which made it unable to even drive. Apparently all the tall grass kept bogging it down and making the engine vibrate which snapped the bolts off. And yes that was with the deck all the way up. Now I just pay someone with a bushhog to mow it down.

    Great job! I like the way you trimmed around those trees first, BEFORE you started mowing! That's always a great safety precaution, and it definitely cuts waaaay back on the possibility of ruining your mower blades! At the very least, it tends to dull the blades, and, although it could be a worst case scenario, it seems that, if you hit enough hidden objects, not only could it do a lot of damage to your mower, but it could definitely dull, bend, or snap the mower blades, not to mention what damage could be caused to the mowing deck, the belt, or even the body and/or engine of the mower itself! As you already know, there are all kinds of things that could happen, so I'm not telling you anything new. It's just that, in my time of landscaping work that I've done for the Apartment Rental Company that I work for, I've had Kotter pins come out, and need to be replaced, I've had to take a mower blade off, sharpen it up, & put it back on, and that's just naming a couple of things that I've had to deal with! But-I'm still a landscaper by trade, and ya learn new things from time to time, which keeps things interesting. Have a great day, and I'm glad I subscribed!

For me, the X blade was just that much more weight/resistance the engine and clutch were having to deal with. That's just my experience though. Others may differ.
