Always a highlight when you post a video! Maybe doggos pick your next read although have no idea how that would work! Also maybe summer read recommendations but all your videos are great!
This is a great idea… let’s figure out how this could work 🤔
Summer reading recs coming very soon soon 😉
Love waking up Saturday morning and seeing your cheery face and excellent content. I've read The Burning Girls and The Chalk Man and about to read The Drift. I think that she is an excellent author who keeps you guessing till the end. Garden is looking great! 🌻
Oh thank you! You are too kind, your lovely comments keep me cheery. Well I finish the burning girls in this coming weekend vlog so all will be revealed, but she doesn't have write a page turner. Slowly but surely getting there with the garden. saving up again for more chips but a bit at a time. Just planted wild flower seeds so will show you the progress soon!
I love CJ Tudor so much. My first read was The Chalk Man and I immediately thought her writing felt like Stephen King. They both have a very casual writing style that I think juxtaposes the dark subject matter. It's like I get lulled into the casualness of the read and then - bam - the plot kicks in and wallops me. Chalk Man on audio is also fantastic and her new book The Gathering might just be the creepiest of them all.
That’s such a great description of their writing ! I’ve got the chalk man and not read yet so will! And waiting until the gathering is in paperback
Your backyard is looking awesome - it has become a tradition for me to watch your weekend vlog at the gym on Sunday morning, here in a chilly NZ.
aww that's so kind, happy to keep you company at the gym in NZ all the way over her in Scotland
Just love your videos , thanks for posting them xx
you are so kind, thank you!
I look forward to your videos! Hope you enjoy your week Johanna!
Thank you so much!! Hope you had a good weekend too!
You’ve re-upped my love for Stephen King and just picked up 5 of his at the thrift store this morning, re-reads yes but well worth it. As I said on your Instagram recently, you are hands-down the best book reviewer out there. Someone should hire you just to read and report.
Awww you are too kind, I am not the best critiquer but I just say how I feel so hopefully that helps others choose books they might like. Glad to hear you are enjoying your SK era!
Thanks to you, I’ve finally read my first Stephen King novel. Years ago, I read his nonfiction book, “On Writing” but I’d never read any of his novels. (I might be the only person who never read a Stephen King novel.) One day, you spoke about “Salem’s Lot” so that piqued my interest and I’m happy to say that I enjoyed it. I can see why he’s referred to as “The Master of Horror.”
Aww I am glad you liked it, Salem’s Lot is a good eerie classic. And you aren’t the only one to not have read him. His genres are for everyone or people aren’t sure if they will like. If you want to try some of his dark thrillers check out Mr Mercedes
@@MeMyDogAndBooks Thanks for the tip about Mr. Mercedes.
I love the bamboo background by your new plants. Does it have a purpose besides aesthetics? I really like it!!
The Burning Girls sounds good!
mostly aesthetics as half way up used to be decking and so there's parts of the fence where you can see beams where the decking used to be. It was a very high decking as the ground used to dip right down so it's taken us a while to level it up ourselves.
@@MeMyDogAndBooks I love bamboo.
I also finished The Burning Girls. Great thriller! I saw it is also a television series, too? I don’t have tv, but it might be a fun one. Spooky 👻
oh good shout I will try and find the tv show online!
Unfortunately my dog is the aggressor. She is getting on a bit and my sister's dog is only 4.
So unfortunately there are times when mine seems to loose the marbles she has.
This was worse when my sister's dog was only a little puppy.
Between lockdowns we got a dog trainer is to teach us where we were going wrong.
For the most part it has definitely helped but when they do have a fight we (the sister I live with and myself) tend to stay home or at least one of us. Even the next day we try to have someone at the house.
But usually they are fine.
I can't blame Winnie (my sister's dog) at all. She is shy and timid and never seems to start anything. I'm glad in fact that Winnie now fights back. Of course I don't want them fighting at all but Bellatrix (my dog) was getting too used to being top dog.
So I completely understand how you were feeling 💓
thanks pal, it's upsetting when they fight and normally they are okay, lucy is 12 and patti 5 so I am sure there is a bit of grumpy old lady in there too. I am sorry you've experienced this too, I suppose dogs are just being dogs sometimes aren't they and we have to do things to avoid their triggers and to make them feel calm as much as you can. thanks for sharing your story!
I have 3 cavapoos. If we feed them a treat or anything like that, we have to feed the oldest one last, otherwise she will turn on the others
so you get it when dogs loose their rag, bless them. yeah I need to learn their triggers.
