Thanks for this. I bought one last week from a County Show and collect mine on Tuesday. I ordered the quilted loadspace liner as I have two labradors who love the beach, muddy woods and any water they can find. Hopefully their sand and mud is contained in the boot.
Agree its marmite, just picked up my 110 commercial and already having issues with the gearbox not changing quick enough, the dealership response was as 2 or more people drive the car it’s learning how you drive, now I’m sorry to be a pessimist but now iv heard it all , I’m 57 years old and am I really supposed to think ( oh I see ) please tell me if I am incorrect here so what I will do is drive it around for another couple of weeks and if it continues I shall take it back again which I’m sure it will 🙄
Yes, I agree and found exactly the same which isn’t consistent for engine with such high low end torque. I’m expecting this will be a software update gearbox remapping at some point soon. In the meantime I’ve learnt to quickly flick over to manual and pop it up a gear or two then back to auto 😊
From a security perspective… have you not thought about having a Ghost 2 immobiliser fitted?? It’s the first mod I’m having on my Defender when it arrives. Be the best investment you could ever make as it will stop Bin Thievin from driving off even if they get the key as without code they are snookered !! Just something to ponder on.
Thanks Paul. I’ve heard about Ghost but don’t know about how it differs from the Thatcham fitted 🤔. Additionally I’m using a faraday key case. Can you advise why please?
@@cotswoldmusings the Ghost 2 is a stand alone immobiliser linked into the Canbus electronic system on the car. During set up you can choose a series of buttons on the car eg: indicate left, indicate right, press cruise control, indicate left. If this sequence isn’t activated when ignition activated the car won’t start and makes car useless to anyone. The good thing is it’s undetectable. My local land rover dealer offer the fitment by a third party. Google search ghost 2 you’ll find all the info and local installers. I believe it’s a fixed cost throughout country.
@@cotswoldmusings I think the ghost also adds like a pin code system and it can automatically shut the car off of the key isn’t with the car, not sure I may be getting it mixed up with something else but lots of high end supercars its common to have something like that fitted, with one of these id say it’s mandatory
Very smart looking Defender. Unfortunate that the seat trim is the vegan option, for the £10k premium you’d expect the full Windsor leather. However with seat covers anyway I suppose it really doesn’t matter! Which Defender have you got on order Rory that you mention?
