  • Like so many former Disney stars, Selena Gomez has had a rocky twenties. She's had to deal with numerous crippling issues, many of which still follow her to this day. But unlike her peers, her problems weren't born from drug abuse or reckless behaviour. They were caused by things almost entirely outside her control.

As someone with lupus who has had it for 17 years, I can confirm the bottle opening situation is real. For me when my lupus flares its my skin that takes damage rather than my organs. If the skin on your hands are experiencing some inflammation, it makes extremely difficult and painful to open bottles and your hand blisters very easily. My lupus isn't even as bad as hers, so I can imagine her pain.

i appreciate a video like this. I has helped me understand how one of my ex girlfriends was behaving. Its sad and its confusing. I wish no hatred on my ex, even with the really bad things that they may have done. We should all be willing to understand someone's poor mental health. You dont have to agree to anything, just understand that they can not control their mind in a healthy way and you just need to be there to help guide them to happiness. My personal journey with depression was tough. but what kept me alive was friendships that just gave me minutes of their time to listen to me. Open that door for your friend that might be struggling. Let them know you are there when they might need someone. It can literally save a life.

Being overly medicated like that is always dangerous. Even when you’re not a depressed person or have a mental disorder it can cause you to gain them. Made worse when you’re hounded by those ghouls in the media.
I pray she gets better. That she can one day have a child of her own. It was heartbreaking hearing her cry about not being a mom.

As someone with bipolar, dealing with it can be at times difficult enough. Medication doesn’t cure it, it’s only supposed to make the mood swings less extreme. I cannot even fathom how it must be to live with that AND Lupus, which is very serious and debilitating.
I can relate to lashing out to your loved ones, not wanting to talk to anyone even when you need help, and the debilitating depression. I’m fighting my own depressive episode right now. But just like her, medication made me feel numb, empty, purposeless and empty. With, or without money to fight it, it’s still hard. I can attest to this because at some point I didn’t have the money for the medication anymore, and it was awful quitting all of them, but now that I fortunately make enough to care for myself, it’s still miserable. I can empathize so much with her.
And regardless of all of this, she still is a role model and tries to use her influence and money to help others in the same position that she is. I really hope she can have what she wants, a fulfilling relationship that leads to the birth of a beautiful family.

    Lupus Sucks!
It affects the mental as much as the physical!
    Symptoms vary for each person.
I was diagnosed in 2015 yet I believe i'd had it since 2012.
    I'm now 58 & forever greatful this didn't start when I was Selena's age.
As it would've had a much more profound effect on my life.
Selena's lupus isn't as visible but it's no more less debilitating.
I have the opposite, mine is visible, painful & stares me in the face everyday.
Hair loss, hypopigmentation of the skin (face) indentations/ dents on every part of my body.
Some an inch in depth & 2- 6 inches in length. Migraines headaches.
My hands, feet & face have the most visible changes.
Deeper dents under my arms, inside my legs, behind my knees, back, neck & shoulders cause the most pain as it's effecting the muscles.
It can't help but effect your quality of life. You never feel the same everyday, good days & bad days. You can't plan anything because you never know how your going to feel until you wake up.
Friends get tired of you canceling & family members are either a good support system or not.
Selena having money doesn't change the fact she suffers from a disease money can't cure!
One's health is everything, money means nothing if you don't have your health!

As The Weeknd said in 'My dear Melancholy' on "Privilege':
    Enjoy your privileged life
'Cause I'm not gonna hold you through the night
    We said our last goodbyes
So let's just try to end it with a smile.
And I don't wanna hear that you are sufferin'
    You are sufferin', no more
'Cause I held you down when you were sufferin'
    You were sufferin'.

You have a guardian angel who looks out and guys people to help you I hope someday they have a cure for lupus but it's slow science for that is real slow but beautiful lady You have to continue fighting for you not for the fans for you You need to do what you need to do for yourself two fans would would understand your tours probably won't be long but they're tours so your shows will probably be a big venues to get a lot of people to come and see you yeah I saw it lupus did to my mother-in-law and I saw what it did to my wife's cousin who had three different types of lupus and she was a a gynecologist she graduated from medical school went to a residency and she started her practice she was in her practice for 2 years when she passed away yeah that's a disease I don't want anybody to have more or less you but no one knows what causes it they don't they don't know who how you get it or what causes it some people say it's genetics but I doubt it but I could see you fighting keeping you healthy learning how to cook the right way exercise getting outdoors and moving outside Don't stay indoors cuz then when you're indoors and your symptoms are acting up and I start thinking about it and it's going to start making you paranoid to what's going on with yourself cuz you have no control of it So my prayers and my thoughts go to you young lady You're a fighter I can see it That's why I call you that Latina Wonder woman so have they got might have someone make a poster of that with your face on it If I get it done I'll send you a copy but young lady you have a bright future but you got to fight for it with this disease My love and prayer is go out to you and your family You got to have patience with this I know you you're going to say some days are rough yeah they are going to be some days are easy That's okay but as long as you try and fight that's what you need to do You got to try All right young lady you have a nice evening

I consume a high protein diet that include eggs , grass fed butter, raw milk, red meat , and also kimchi which is a fermented food for the probiotic
.But after a while you can consume carbs like white rice etc if you like

Some of these comments are wild. Having money doesn't mean you deserve to suffer pain and misfortune. Be mad at the systems that ruin us not a random celebrity. Also, money isn't everything to everyone. They may have it but it doesn't magically fix everything. Yalls obsession with money and lack of empathy just makes u like the soulless 1% who don't give anything back to the little guy. Selena Gomez may be wealthy and famous, but that didn't really matter to her as much. She said all she wanted was a family. Was children. If she could trade all her wealth for a child she probably would. But no amount of money can fix her bipolar disorder. No amount of money can fix her lupus. and No amount of money can give her biological children. It may be more manageable because of the things she can access, but it won't change the outcome.

I have lived with lupus for decades, it was never considered a potential diagnosis for me because I was the wrong gender. Why wasn’t I ever considered? Because I didn’t have a vajayjay. Lupus flares are horrific and debilitating, they are no joke. I am “lucky” it only attacks my joints and the lining of my lungs, it’s devastatingly painful, but I am reassured I won’t die from it, tho I’d question it. I’m glad she has people who care for her, my wife just cheated and left, I don’t bother sharing my story with folks, until now, most folks don’t know how to deal with my lupus so it’s easier to go solo rather than try to explain
..
I am proud of this young lady. I have age and combat under my belt, I’ve accepted that there were people and there are things that wanna kill me, get in line! But this beautiful soul needs care, compassion and love.
