What are some of your favorite guides/tutorial content out there? Anyone we should be keeping our eyes on for a future video?
The Rindoukan Bible.
@@saiferoth Infilament has an article on various bugs with the guy who made the rindokan Bible.

I like Infil's the most but Dustloop/Mizuumi Wiki is also one of my favorite fighting game resources.
Another vote for Mizuumi Wiki (now incorporated under Dustloop it looks like). Core-A Gaming's "Why Button Mashing Doesn't Work" video was also fantastic on giving a general fighting game glossary. I'm personally a sucker for anything that helps with picking a character when jumping into a new fighting game. The Guilty Gear Xrd character quiz (arctice.github.io/XrdQuizRevamp/ ) and the Tekken one (tekken-character-quiz.netlify.app/#/ ) were both fun to play around with. I also love the longer roster overviews by The Blasted Salami for Tekken and Granblue. I know a while back the JChen also did a long tutorial stream for Under-Night with accompanying Google Docs that I also thought was really helpful (czcams.com/play/PL45-KVgrSkf651n9Qui-Zc8H5rJgq4Jpu.html )
Sonic Hurricane was big for me. And Domination 101 of course.
Scrupman
Every fighting game should have an infil guide in the game, there's really no reason after going through the game tutorial you still don't know how to play
Well tutorial just introduces you to the game mechanics. It work the same in any other genre.
Every FG should have an Infil-style guide made by the developers
The developers don't usually know what the game is going to look like. It's the main reason why franchises like Under Night and BlazBlue got better and better learning resources as new iterations came out.
BnBs slowly get added into Combo Trials and specific strategy bits also find their way into the game. Not every franchise changes that slowly in over 10 years, though.
KI training literally teach you everything even things that are in other FG games like crossups, frametraps, etc. Pretty in depth

"THIS IS WHY IT'S GOOD"
This is why infil guide was so good, and this is also the thing many guides are lacking, not only in fighters. Telling you what to do, but not really why are you supposed to do it this certain way. Yeah I get that I'm supposed to use THAT move a lot, all the other guides told me, but what makes it move so good in the first place?
"Why button mashing doesn't work" by Core-A Gaming is the Godfather of fighting game guides.
It would be great to have a revamped KI. The gameplay is still super solid, but the visual start showing its age.
Also props to Infil, his guide is amazing!
This is a GOAT game guide
...not just among KI guides
...not just among fighting guides
...but among all video game guides ever.
Edit: Music next? LET'S FUCKING GO!
Video: More KI coming soon.
Me: cool
Video: Behind the music with Mick Gordan

Ya Infil definitely has the best guide out there no question.
KI Made A Huge Impact On Fighting Games
(Especially Wit Their GamePlay🎮Mechanics)
I have major respect for him. I have the same love for guides and creating them. However I've never had a chance to put my full effort into one. He seems like a passionate guy, and I hope he's able to continue his work.
Infil has created something truly amazing and I hope for all games to have a resource such as this one day. Great work.
Infil guide is best guide easy.
I've read it "Cover to cover" at least once, and skimmed a bunch since then.
The student teaches himself, the teacher removes the obstacles keeping the student from understanding the subject. Keep up the good work Infil!
Every night and day I pray to Lord Infil for this guide 🙏
Esteban, i love you but add a link to the infil guide in the description, please. Is easy to find but it would still be the fastest way to check it out instantly
Good catch! Will add it now.
Yeah this guide is amazing. One of the best I’ve ever seen for a fighting game, for sure. Insanely well done. I love this game and love recommending it to people, but I always bring up this guide as a resource because its fantastic and deserves all the praise in the world.
This and CoreA Gaming's guide have taught me more about how to play than all the tutorials I have ever been through beforehand. Since seeing them, I find CoinJamTV (Now Heavy Punch) and rooflemonger, KnowKami, and AutoMattock to be pretty close to them. CoinJamTV for the extreme entertainment value. Infil knew the importance of making the guide engaging, and CoinJamTV turns that up to 11. I find myself coming back to his videos and I don't even play the games featured in it anymore. Rooflemonger, meanwhile, has a similar background to Infil, also being a teacher and also enjoying helping others. His dragonball guides were invaluable for teaching me how to play. Knowkami is not a teacher like them, but has the heart of one, also taking his time to break things down and is passionate about helping people learn. Same with AutoMattock.
Special mention, I feel, should go out to Sajam, The Blasted Salami, and Bafael for their few-minute guides that I find very helpful for getting a running start with learning a character.
"Scrupman" I see what you did there
Just picked up the game. So lucky I found this early on 💡💡💡
I'd like to learn how to finally play KI- I was playing against the computer a few weeks ago, thinking I was pulling off these awesome multi hit combos, then I realized I had combo-assist turned on. 🤦♂️
No harm using the combo assist at all. It's a great feature
I have so mich respect for Infil, he helped me out so much in KI. Even though I'm still a scrupman
damn, what a wholesome dude :,)
really cool seeing how effective interdisciplinary experience/perspective can be!
Infil's KI guide is one of the best game guides out there. I can't play KI because my PC is pretty old, so with this guide as source material I did a homemade KI board game which I play with friends whenever we can meet, we all are pretty big KI fans and I'm glad they enjoy such a different take on KI, all thanks to this in-depth guide. I'll always be grateful to Infil for taking his time to do it.
It's an excellent example of instructional design.
Infil's guide helped me so much! Thanks for making this interview!
That Shadow linker break trainer is sick. Didn't notice it the time I read the website to learn the game. Pretty neat.
these are always so well done, great work!
Don't play KI, but I love this insight into the process of making the guide. Very cool to hear how intentional he was in terms of choosing the format.
Bruh dis sick yo
im glad ur back
this is awesome stuff!
Jesus, when I first read the KI guide, i couldnt believe you could kinda play the game in tge website! The breaking leassons are SO GOOD! Great video man =D
18:01: Hype is real. Hoping to hear some insight into what went into Fulgore's sound design.
Damn this guide is amazing
This dude is awesome!
Great vid!
Just earned yourself a new sub :)
Bring back KI already 😭
#playKI #makeKIStronger
First
Eyyy
And then he went on to make a comprehensive dictionary for fighting games in general. The FGC definitely doesn't deserve Infil.
best guide ever
Best KI resource

#BringBackKI

Excuse me guys, do you have someone doing spanish subs for your videos? i really love this channel's quality, and i would love to help widening the range of viewership
A wild Ricky appears!!!
is the game up to date? with the recent balance patches?
It ain't easy, being a Scrupman.
What is “rushdown” and “zoning”? I didn’t find an explanation of these concepts in the guide.
Rushdown is a character that is fast and focuses on offensive pressure to overwhelm the opponent. They often have confusing setups (which causes the opponent to make a mistake) and has the tools to capitalize on those mistakes. Zoning is a character that does better fighting at range and has tools that prevent the opponent from getting close (where zoners are VERY weak).
In general, a rushdown character does well against a zoner, because they have good mobility and can easily close the distance on the zoner to attack them where they are weakest. Zoners tend to do well against grappler characters (slow characters that want to get up close to do huge damage through command grabs) since the grappler has such a hard time getting to them. Grappers tend to do good against a rush down character since they usually have more health and since the rushdown character needs to get close to an opponent to do damage they put themselves in risk of a command grab that will do massive damage. Hope this helps.
@@naejimba - Do you play Shadow Fight Arena by any chance? You just described Hong Joo (zoner), and Ironclad (Rushdown).
@@EPSTomcat11 , no but these are archetypes that you can find in just about any fighting game. =)
@@naejimba I’m sure, yes. You should give SFA a shot btw. The only mobile (wireless) true human PvP fighting game out there at the moment.
Guys, where did Scrupman come from?
the tekken player Knee fired back at another Tekken player TheMainMan for something he said. He probably meant to say "Scrubman" in reference to his name and being a scrub lool
my computer is so doodoo i cant play ranked ki
he's not will smith??
Ki wins again
scrupman
....dude lol real fg players don’t mind long content I wish people would stop being so adverse to making normal content. Just make sure it’s to the point...sick site though. I’m definitelyy gonna take some notes
Leave that Scrupman stuff at home and continue to push the content we love you for pushing rather than stirring the pot
No
@@Holdbacktoblock Childish.
Sounds like a scrupman argument to me
@@Holdbacktoblock I would say leave it out just because it dates the video, give it 5 months to a year and more then likely no one will know why you said it like that just think it's weird.
TMM is now Scrupman for life
