  • In this video, Saimai, William, and I will tour four mid-range 2-bedroom apartments, ranging in price from $650 to $850 per month. These apartments are all in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, so that you can get an idea of the cost of living in Phnom Penh, particular in relation to apartment cost. Note that in an apartment, the city electric rate is $0.18 per kWh (per unit). However, in condominium buildings, the condo owners always add to that, so it typically costs $0.25 yo $0.30 cents per kWh. We will tour apartments in BKK1, Wat Phnom, and Daun Penh / Riverside

    You can rent my house for $500. It’s 4bd, 4 full bathrooms on a private lot. Everything is modernized. Really nice actually. Bought it for ourselves but we’re back in the states

    The second and last one are very spacious. What does a normal refrigerator look like over there?

      @SecondLifeTravels1  Před rokem

      A normal refrigerator is about 1/2 the size of an American refrigerator.
      We've learned to get by, though. If you're near a market, you can just walk to the groceries!

    No microwave in the kitchen?! Why?

      Sharp eye! Every apartment is different. Haggling is normal during apartment hunting in Cambodia, and it's very common to ask for things. I would ask for a microwave to be added, and I believe most landlords would agree to put one in.

    Those apartments are expensive even compared to Thailand

    everybody talks about how much cheaper living is over there but when you look at what you get for the price of living places its VERY expensive. you get basically nothing for your money. an oversized closet.

      Goodness, in any capital city in America, it would be a real challenge to find ANY place for $650 per month, let alone a fancy 15th floor 2BR or a 1000 Sq foot colonial. I'm not sure I agree with you at all.
