- Shane brought his lifted 2006 Chevy 2500 HD Duramax in to have us install our 00-10 WFO GM HD 6" SAS KIT. Not only did we install our Solid Axle kit, we partnered that up with some Fox Shocks, 37-inch tires on Trail Ready wheels, 263 transfer case swap, our shackle flip, and so many other goodies. It doesn't get much better than this.

Nice truck, need more 1500 builds.. had mine SAS'd on 44s for nearly 13 years now, still on the stock frame. no issues. cateye is the best body style

Looks nice. I want to solid axle swap my 98 Tahoe. I can’t decide on coilovers or a good set of custom leaf springs. Can you comment on ride quality and handling on both coilovers and custom leaf springs like Alcan? My main concern with ditching the IFS is making long stretches of washboard road or handling on the highway a miserable experience.
What axle would you recommend for a 2013 gmc sierra 1500? Would like to keep the 1/2 ton running gears and tires/ rims combo.

Converted my 07 Duramax but used the NP205 so far superior to the GM transfer case

What's the ball park cost on these swaps with the 271 case??
So I see that the np271 transfer case is only offered for 07 and older Chevy trucks. Do they offer a 271 transfer case for a 09 Silverado gasser? I’ve already done the sas with your kit. Just looking to upgrade my transfer case. Also with the stock steering box for the Chevy. Do you guys recommend to swap out the steering box for a ford one or do you just upgrade to like a red head steering box? Seems my truck don’t like the stock Chevy steering box. So need to upgrade that as well 😊
As far as the transfer case, we have not found a good swap for the 09 Gas. We suggest you call transfer case express and see what they have to offer. If you have a floor shift case, they will be able to help you out. If you have an electronic shift case, it might be hard. On the steering, we suggest buying a new box and pump kit from PSC. It is the standard GM bolt-in box. No need to change to a FORD box.

How’s the ride quality compare to a good IFS setup?
It depends on a lot of variables, but a very basic answer I can give you is it will feel a little bit more lively. The biggest benefits are in strength and durability. You are going to find that you won't have to maintain your front end as much and it will give you a tighter turning radius which is also nice.
