While I was in Trinidad I met a number of Ethiopians who live there and some of them have lived there for 30+ years and their accent is very much like Trini :D I'm guessing you attend Sunday mass at the Holy Trinity Ethiopian Orthodox Church? is that how you come to know Mezmur? Coz there is at least 3 or 4 Ethiopian Orthodox Church in Trinidad and majority of the congregation are Trini's and some even have learned how to read and speak Amharic since the church service is conducted in Amharic and Geeze. *For those interested what this music is about:* This song is based on the Ethiopian novel called, Fikir Eske Meqabir, which means Love until the Grave. It's a very famous book in Ethiopia, everybody has read it. The story is about a love triangle between an Ethiopian girl in the Royal family who's in love with a poor boy who's studying to become a priest. Her name is Seble and his Bezabih. It's one of the most heart breaking story i have ever read.

It not only tells the beautiful story of love between two people, it makes you fall in love with the culture. When he released his video, I just want to go back to Ethiopia and live in the urban. In my opinion, " Mar eske Tuwaf " is the best song and the best music video of all time.
It really takes me also back to the urban life of our fathers and grandfather's which I have long lasting memory of it. I pray to God than anything else to let us get back that life which we are proud and delightful of it.
It should get a grammy!! It literally showed the entire story of the book. I cried when I watched it for the first time. The people, the environment, everything is the imagery that I had in my mind reading it and listening to the treka.
