    Hi Roy,
    I have been with you through all your episodes, and yes, even through these more intense pattern layouts. I've always been creating those "TV jingles" and you've opened my mind to pattern flow, scale, and stretch. With these past four episodes I'm finally understanding how I can start with core plants and diversify later. I remember walking through your gardens at Northwind some years ago and wondering in awe, " How do you do this?" You've shared the gift of garden design and understanding plants. I am excited to put all of this to use in my gardens this Spring and Summer! Thank you! Cindy Damrow

    Thank you for sharing your knowledge on plants and combinations to us. You must have been a great school teacher! I am from Athens Greece and have a summer home on the small island of Ikaria. Our gardens have many roses. Is that a subject that you will talk about in the future?

    Love these episodes Roy! I'm realizing now, how core plants are really key! I can get SO excited about allll the plants, than I end up moving lots of them around. I can see less moving of plants in my future! I very much love garden design..I can "see" plants together, before I've planted, so this all makes sense to me. Thanks again.🤗

      Guilty! Im a plant mover, as well. Mostly because my garden seems to 20 micro-climates. If it doesn't work out, move it over 10 feet and it might.

    Roy, I am totally fascinated. I am an amateur gardener and learning so much from you. Have a lot of shade in my yard but the design principles are So helpful. If you have any suggestions for shade gardens I would love to hear them. Thank you so much

    Gardening with love! It really is a peaceful and caring act. It would be interesting to see how you move from pattern to planting plan. I hope you have a successful season.

    I actually looked right through to the end. :)
    I really liked that last plant combination. It got me dreaming of alternatives...
    Planning a new 'wild' flower and grass bed, that will surround a circular gravel seating area.
    For the sake of drainage, new soil mixed with some gravel will be mounded up, on top of fairly heavy soil.
    Location full sun, view over swaying fields, Sweden.

    Thank you Roy! I'm feeling very creative after watching your series of videos. I specifically want to make Actaea racemosa work in a shade garden, but am having a hard time finding a good plant to pair it with that will compliment its growth pattern. Have you used this plant successfully? Any ideas for plant combos?

    • @RoyDiblik
      @RoyDiblik  Před 3 lety +2

      An upcoming episode this week will talk about pairing Actaea racemosa with Carex gracillima! Another good plant to pair it with would Geranium magnificum. (Northwind sells all of these).

    Hi Roy, loving the videos! Wanted to know if you ever use more than two plants for a single pattern? Seemed like most patterns in the video series where just two plants.

    • @RoyDiblik
      @RoyDiblik  Před 3 lety +2

      This is meant to be a beginning...you can garden it up and add additional plants and architectural plants to the patterns.
