Carl Shutt a very under rated player
I remember being so chuffed for Shutty but worried cuz things were clearly turning ugly for Cantona.
Not a Leeds fan (Arsenal fan) but I remember this game vividly as it was a big game played on a Friday Night which was unheard of in those days.
Eric Cantona substituted for Carl Shutt 😂 and then he scores the winner. It’s a funny old world
Hardly anyone there.
MOT!
THEN WE LOST TO RANGERS MARK HATLEY FOR FUCK SAKE
in the camp nou????
Yes, if I remember rightly (I was a young boy when this game happened so I've only read about it recently), Stuttgart initially beat Leeds over two legs but had fielded an ineligible player in the second leg when Leeds won 4-1 (needing to win 5-1 to progress). Leeds wanted Stuttgart disqualified altogether but UEFA decided to replay the tie as a single match but at a neutral venue - the Nou Camp.
@@peterclegg4786 Pretty certain from memory it was played in Monaco.

@@peterclegg4786. Stuttgart won their home leg 3-0 and lost their away leg 1-4, so as you said, the aggregate was 4-4 and Stuttgart was going to advance on road goals.
But once they were caught using the ineligible player, the result of the away leg was a 3-0 loss instead of a 4-1 loss. So the replay had to happen because both sides had identical 3-0 home wins.
