What makes his incredible deft touches even more remarkable is the fact they seemed to have played this game on Scarborough beach.
The first goal showed off his great footballing brain, the second his incomparable dribbling skills. The ball probably weighed as much as a pail of cement. They were both outstanding.
When football was football. Today, you wouldn't get anything like this, especially playing conditions for teams in the old Division one. As for Eddie Grey's goals, it is totally and utterly class. He will always be a Leeds legend.
Proof that Eddie Gray would thrive in todays game just as he did here. Legend, Gentleman and Stalwart. Best of the best.
Eddie Gray what a wizard in a team of magnificent magicians
The skill shown on the terrible state of this pitch is unbelievable.
I was at this game ..... Gray was sensational 👍
What a couple of cracking goals, especially when you consider the pitch and the ball back then
Famously Don Revie said when Eddie played on snow he left no footprints ! look at the state of the pitch, can you imagine how good he would have been with todays perfect surfaces !!.
What a player
Thanks for another look at the great Leeds of the 70s. At least Bamford pulled off the unimaginable recently. The Leeds story is always simply nutty! 🙂
Please don't compare that clown to Eddie gray
@@paulbarrett22 Not a chance! No comparison ever intended! The Bamford comment was more irony than anything else. Good goal nonetheless.
Two brilliant goals from Eddie and then the build up to one of the best FA Cup finals ever👍. Unfortunately, after running rings around Chelsea in the Wembley final, Eddie was deliberately clattered by Ron Harris in the replay and that hampered him and Leeds.
That pitch! And he goes and does THAT?????!!!!!!
Eddie Grey is a legend.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
One of the few left
Total talent
I Bet young Archie is smiling at this!
And for that the fa fined leeds 5000 pounds a fair bit back then for fielding a weekend side! They love us
Eddie more than makes up for that tv presenters shirt and tie.
How dare you? It cost 15s 6d!
I swear for ages I just starred at 15s 6d forgetting its our old currency!🤣@@staceygrove5976
Burnley were a good side back then too . Never got my head around why Don bought John Faulkner from Sutton .
Or Roy Ellam, for that matter.
@@staceygrove5976 l agree with you totally .
Chelsea kicked the shit out of Eddie in the final
3rd best....lol
None of this passing out from the back and sideways. I do find some Premier league games boring. Plus proper pundits not the jolly boys clubs we have on sky and motd.
Eddie scored one of the Best ever Goals in History against Burnley... MOT
2 of the best goals ever. They were both brilliant in different ways.
YES CHELSEA STOPPED HIM, KICKED LUMPS OUT OF HIM ,
That was the only way to stop him and back in the day that’s what they did to a special player like Eddie Gray
Who in that dirty, clogging Chelsea team could have produced a goal like that? Sexton was talking crap.
Almost forgot what angels Leeds were. As for Chelsea players who could produce that type of skill Osgood and Cook and this is coming from a Spurs fan.
@@chrisbennett1243 But no goals from Osgood or Cooke* are remembered and talked about like this goal is. That should tell you something...
Peter Mellor. Not one of the best goalkeepers in the world. And I'm a Fulham fan !
Why is it important for you to state that you're a Fulham fan?🤔
WHEN FOOTBALL WAS A MANS GAME... MOT
on a cow field as well...a won't say it
The Wembley pitch was even worse for the final. They had the horse of the year show on just before the game.
