Cherry Tomato Harvest and Taste Test - Sungold, Black Strawberry, Black Cherry!

Among other tomatoes, we grew Sungold, Black Strawberry, and Black Cherry tomatoes this year. In our quest to find a better tasting cherry tomato than the Sungold, we tried growing Black Strawberry and Black Cherry tomatoes.

Black Cherry is definitely best left until it's quite deep purple color I think, you can definitely pick them when they're that maroon sort of color too though. I usually just throw them in the bowl and they're pretty deep purple within a few days

Used to grow Sun Gold. Now we grow Sun Sugar. We like the flavor of Sun Sugar more.

Where did you get those large tomato cages?

You can find similar online. We used a brand called “Texas Tomato Cage”.
