Wow, my buddy just got a 1958 Berglung with this engine on her. was poking around and found your vid. I live in Mcminnville know the lake. hey neighbor.
Yes back in the day and even now they are pretty good. My Dad had one on the boat se had as a child . Finding one now in good condition might be hard or expensive or both but worth it. Nice video thanks for posting.
Very nice! It's hard to tell on YT, but does anyone know if this 58 Super Quiet is significantly quieter than the 57 and earlier? 58 is the first year of the Super Quiet series from what I read.
I have a question could you contact me. I know it's been 7 years, but possibly you might could answer a question.I pulled a shift pin out of the lower unit. How do I get it?Put back in.I thought it was the oil drain plug
Hey I just purchased one of these. Hard to start and once running it doesn’t idle right. What do you think the issue might be or do you know anyone near Atlanta who works on them? Thank you for your help!
Just bought one, "stuck." May have been water locked. If so I'm lucky as it's cold and freezing. Got it to turn over and "burp" Needs starter paid 40 bucks for it
Hey man, I'm buying a boat and inheriting a perfectly restored version of this engine. It's only run in fresh water though. I was wondering if you knew how it would fair in saltwater on the bay, and also, if you had any idea what one of these is worth restored with a new carb and plenty of new parts, but still original. I'm thinking of swapping it out for something more saltwater friendly. Sorry to bother you, and thanks chris.
