Now Imagine you're in a B-29. It's 1945 and you're flying over Tokyo. Only difference is it's a clear night.
I was thinking almost the same thing, only flying fortress flying over Germany and the lightnings are flax.
After investigating history, wars, & combat situations Mother Nature shows you her beautiful side.
I've seen storms from airplanes, too; most incredible from that angle. Thanks for sharing, JD.
Thanks J.D. for all you do brother God bless you!!✌️🇺🇲
I don't like being in them, but I like seeing the storms.
Lightening is beautiful.
Pretty amazing 🌩️🌩️
Yeah, definitely a cool experience.
Thank you so much for filming this!!! I absolutely loved it.
Wow thats something you dont see everyday!
Love watching these kinds of storms. I find them so fascinating. Thanks for sharing JD.
Supercells, lots of energy! Impressive
That's alot more serene than that "moderate tropical depression" that I got to "view" aboard a USN destroyer about 20 years ago.
Wow that’s something else. Bit scary as well as fascinating at the same time! 😮🇬🇧
He is showing off ( Colossians 1:15-17)
Thanks for sharing 😊
Just two days ago, I told the girl that cuts my hair how I would love to see the top of a storm from a plane. You must have heard me! That's an awesome sight!
Thank you for sharing. Please be safe out there
Impressive! Nature's fireworks, very cool!
I zoomed in just a little toward the big cloud and hit stop , @ 12 times, and got a beautiful shot with lightning. Nice background on phone now. Thanks JD😊
July 4, 2001 I was returning to Dayton Ohio from our honeymoon. At 10pm we were over Kentucky and watched fireworks below us all the way back from there. It was a one in a lifetime unplanned thing, but I have thought of planning a trip just to see it again.
Wow!
So totally cool!!! Thank You JD !:-) 🙏💜⚡
That was really cool! Thanks for sharing this. It brought back memories of a night flight coming back from Florida many years ago.
Seen it once on a night flight over India. What a spectacular sight.
thanks for sharing ... sooo beautiful .... soo wild
Fire in the sky.
That is so cool. I have never seen that while flying like you. Thanks for sharing this video.
That is very cool
This is amazing to see!
Your content always has such great photography, thank you!
I am so glad you didn't a "man on the wing"! 😂 That was neat looking.
Thanks JD!! The beauty of modern aviation where ATC routes these flights around those storms…. Sure you can fly over them but it’s a rough ride.
I’m like a kid if I was on that flight… my eyes would have been looking out that window for sure. Thanks for sharing 👍
Onward and upward
That was cool JD. Cheers mate.
Looks kinda like an artillery barrage going back and forth! 👍
That’s just so cool 😎.
That's pretty cool, and you're cool for sharing that cool thing. Thanks for the cool thing!
Looks like the storms in my home town in Australia during the Wet Season.
That is so neat!
I think it’s some impressive video while flying JD . 💯💕👍
I don't like flying, so seeing that makes me a little nervous.but it was still incredible.
Thanķ you for sharing.
THATS A BEAUTIFUL SEEN 👀 FROM MY VIEW 🤣😂 THATS AWESOME THANKS FOR THE VIDEO 🙏🇺🇸
Yea it’s pretty cool, saw one flying over Georgia a few years ago, pretty intense lightning show.
I flew 50k miles a year in my previous life, flying through many storms like this. The fun really starts when a lightning bolt hits the plane! WOW! The captain tried to calm the passengers down with the following comment: " Folks this is your captain and as you either saw or felt we were hit with a bolt of lightning. But don't worry, thanks to Benjamin Franklin and his lightning rod, we are fine" (pause) "I would like to ask those of you on the right side of the plane. Does the engine sound funny to you?" 🤣🤣 Many of us were ROTFL... but for a few passengers, the joke missed its mark! 😄😅
That's awesome. 😂 A captain with a good sense of humor, lol.
That is very very cool!!!! I am glad you posted this! Tell your daughter thanks for telling you to put the book down! Speaking of the book, is it good? Ya recommend it?
Thanks for sharing. That is very cool!
👍🏻
Wow..and that close and no turbulence
That’s amazing
Seen that too. I don't fly often but it was pretty amazing. No turbulence at all being on the side 😅
Amazing😊
Amazing
COOL!
The moment I watched this it happened in the past, so to me it's history ;-)
Still pretty cool
I flew through something similar when coming home from the conference in New Orleans, but from a lower altitude. Definitely a little unsettling.
Best. Lightning. Ever
😮😮😮😮
Pretty wild.
Storms don't scare me but flying does, I have one eye on the cabin and one eye on a wing.
Flew through a storm several years ago.
Frightening!! Reminds me of the Twilight Zone eposide with William Shatner!
Yeah….I kept waiting for the deformed face to pop right into the window with horns blasting.
This is so cool. Thanks for not dumping it just because it isn't history based. Well, it's in past now, so in way it is history.
🙂
When I see lightning from the air I imagine what it been like if there was a battle down below with all the muzzle flashes going off like at the end of the scene in saving Private Ryan when they’re in the church getting some R&R and you see outside and the battle in the distance
👍🏻👍🏻
I used to live in Hiawatha Kansas for a few years, and met a girl, who I ended up dating. On one of our dates, a large lighting storm came into the area, so we drove out to see it. We weren't in it, but near it. Hiawatha Kansas is located in farm land, away from larger towns such as Topeka, or Saint Jo. So there is not a lot of light bleed into the night sky. This means if you drive out of town, even just a few hundred yards, the night sky becomes very black, and you can see far off into the sky and heavens. We got outside town and parked, and the light night in the clouds off in the distance was absolutely breathtaking. It wasn't just a small patch of sky but the entire horizon off in the distance. There were literally 30-40 bolts of lightning just firing off in the clouds repeatedly. We stood here for 15-20 minutes in stunned silence. It was the most beautiful thing you have ever seen, that will remain with me for the rest of my life.
Whoa…
When I was recommended this video, I didn't realize the source.
Share away. I'd be on the lookout for sprites. I've heard you can see them above storm clouds.
A friend of mine used a go pro camera when he did a halo jump from 35k the dropped through a storm at night.
Could you imagine what it would be like to fly into the eye of a hurricane on a hurricane hunter
You should add add playoff after episode of history the current number then artifact episode current number and now other episode 1 like Lightning storm in the air
Looks like Anti-Aircraft Flak. Probably similar to what paratroopers would’ve see. On their way to Normandy.
God's demonstration of power in his creation is amazing!
