    Would you use high octane pipe for an area that will soon have concrete over it? Also, when the area becomes concrete would the pop-up emiiter be the only option. Thank you for all the knowledge you have provided with your videos

      If you are pouring concrete over the system, use Armor Pipe

    My neighbor just upsized his small home into a Mc mansion and he designed his pop up to drain right untio my veggie garden .
    Even when it’s not raining there is still water trickling out.. my ex said maybe he tapped into an underwater stream..
    I noticed it when my sump pump started running hard .
    I dug a huge trench to assist Mother Nature .. I now have a self watering veggie and fairy garden ..
    next step is to replace my front gutter .. get rain barrels all for the down spouts and one or two for the sump pump to pump into. As it is I don’t need to water my grass. I live next to wetlands . After that I’m going into the crawl to see if I need French drains down there .

      The reason why it always seems like it's running water is because of the dew that lays on the roof from nighttime, and it runs off into the drainage system.

    Learning a lot from FDM. Doing my first project. Is there a reason that they didn't do the gravel and fabric wrap with this one? Is it because it's just redirecting from the downspout and not trying to keep a soggy area dry? Thanks!

      It's an Underground Buried Downspout Drain, not a FrenchDrain.

    Great video. Are the interior walls of that bedazzled heavy-duty corrugated pipe smooth? If not, will all the single gravel reach the in-line catch basin?

    Planning on using your products for French drain and solid downspout drain pipe as well. Should I put both in one trench on top of each other and then cover both with stone. Is that acceptable or should they be side by side in the trench? Concerned that on top of each other may mean solid pipe is too close to the surface.

    I’ve got it bad, watching multiple seasons of French Drain Man!
    I need to run a downspout drain and then put driveway interlocking brick over it. How deep should I bury the pipe? I’ve got a ton of slope in the lawn, so there are no restrictions that way.

    • @PeterBallW

      @FrenchDrainMan, how deep does the 3” need to be buried under interlocking brick driveway?

      2x3 is the thinner size. 3x4 is the larger size. There is an option when you order.

    The corrugated tubing is whole, not sliced along ridges? What do you do in early winter when it is near freezing rain conditions, unplug from gutter or let ice form in the tubing?

      This kit holds 56% less water than a 4" kit. If it did freeze, it would expand and not crack because everything is HDPE and NOT PVC

    I live in NW Indiana and plan on getting several of your kits but have some questions. I have a gable a large gable roof area , is the 3” big enough to handle the water volume? Also in this video the line isn’t very deep , I would think any water still in the line would easily freeze , how deep should the line be buried? Also taking the full 25 feet run what should the grade be at the end , discharge. Thanks

      Pallet Kit for 3 in Downspout Installation
      frenchdrainman.com/product/3-in-kit-for-buried-downspouts/
      You don't have tropical rains like Florida has, so you will be fine with a 3 inch system. All downspot systems freeze in the North. The shallower you go, the less water the system will hold because when you come up to daylight, the deeper you are the more water will be left behind in the pipe to freeze.

    Did you use a coupler to add some length to this run? I was wondering if having a coupler on the pipe would cause it to catch debris and eventually clog.

    I have two downspouts on the north side of my house - one on the back of the house and one on the front of the house. Is there a way to connect the front drain to the solid pipe that is coming from the back gutter or do I have to buy another pipe and run it by itself.

    • @FRENCHDRAINMAN
      @FRENCHDRAINMAN  Před 5 dny +1

      All you need is just enough to grow grass. A few inches-you don’t want to go any deeper. You want a few inches of dirt on top of the pipe.

    in another video you said in Michigan/the North, you should bury your pipe 14 inches down, but in the majority of your videos like this one the pipe is only a few inches below the surface, why do you appear to not follow that advice?
    I was looking at buying the fdm popup v2 and use a sanitary t, if i buried the pipe 14 inches (10 inches of dirt on top of pipe 4in pipe) id need approximately 8in of extension. Is this a problem to do?

    • @FRENCHDRAINMAN
      @FRENCHDRAINMAN  Před 2 měsíci

      Okay, slow down. You got caught in the French Drain Man spin cycle. Our French drains are 14 inches by 14 inches. You are in a downspout video, which is completely different. As far as the pop-ups, if you've seen a sanitary tee in any of my videos, that was from last year and the year before. We made a custom fitting for our Pop-up Emitter, and that's all we use.

    • @HighImpactx
      @HighImpactx Před 2 měsíci

      @@FRENCHDRAINMAN I am working on burying downspouts. I like your downspout adapters and the popup emitters. I'm just trying to understand/follow the guidance I see in your videos. So are you saying you wouldn't bury downspouts in a 14-in deep trench? The person installing my sprinklers runs the lines 8 in deep so I'm assuming I should be going underneath them which is also why I thought your 14-in advice made a lot of sense. Just not sure if that's too tall of a rise for the pop-up emitters, which is also why I thought your sanitary t was a cool idea
