- That's right, my favorite hoi4 mod has been updated for the new DLC By Blood Alone. the Great War Redux returns with an epic Germany playthrough. Can I beat Europe or will this be a classic Alex the Rambler fail?

Pretty sure the coup happened because he wasn't really stopping the bombing, which lowered his war support and stability a ton

funny cause when i was playing a MP game, despite the fact i was being pushed beyond berlin after the british did a lil suprise invasion "they didnt join initially thus why i was underprepared and i was stretched thin with russia and france", the army liked me until i died and got border gored
When you are in a trench, knee-deep in mud and blood and being shelled, you don't really care that the higher-ups are very satisfied with their maps. :p

I was going through a completely normal game of HOI4 as the UK, I decided to do The King's Party thing and for some unknown reason France decided to declare war on me and I'm 99.99% sure I had historical AI focuses on.
Break the naval treaty?

Also, Paradox has coded it so if you go ahistorical the A.I will also go ahistorical.
So if you go communist France there may be a kaiser germany or revolution in Russia.
@@CaptainB1994 yes, they send you a Warnung and if you dont following it and disnand your Main Ships, they got a puppet wargoal.
There is a Taktik to disband your ships as GB to get a wargoal against the USA pretty early

Finally someone who knows "blitzkrieg" means "lightning war" I hate when people break past and make an encirclement and they are screaming "blitzkrieg"
Well the german blitzkrieg tactic was broken down, essentially that exact thing. Quick shock attacks through weakness in front lines, pushing outward and enveloping enemy forces and destroying them.
@@catinbeanie the word "Blitzkrieg" was never used besides maybe used once or twice throughout the war yes they did use those tactics but they didn't refer to them as "Blitzkrieg" which translates to "lightening war"

@@kage_no_karasu3434 Yeah you can talk the semantics of but the blanket tactic is under the name Blitzkrieg and its what education teaches in relation to WW2. Im just going off the modern use by historians

@@lilmontrz6117 Well it had been last updated before in 2014 and he played it in 2019 so the update it's comparatively recent

This video comes like a slap on my face, i've tried to play Bulgaria 3 times now (on this mod ofc) and everytime, around 1914, the game crash...
Yea same thing happened to me twice. Once with ahistorical and another with historical. I don't know if the update caused a bug but anytime I play Bulgaria it crashes a few years in.

I played as Serbia in my first game on this mod, it was a lot of fun and I joined the entente then conquered ottomans and Austria Hungary. The war just immediately ended once they sued for peace and I got nothing lol
You have to wait 4 months for the autopeace deal to give land

I honestly like playing Spain in the Great War mod. I know they start down in the dumps but if you speedrun the military research, national focus and industry, they can actually turn out quite nice. I once captured Berlin with Spanish troops.

Alex if you want to use console commands to end a war use the occupationpaint command dont annex cause that just switches the majors

He has before. Australia sadly is very low priority for updates in mods and in all big mods you have only 2 real choices:
Support Britain/Canada (kaiserreich) in the war
Take an alternative politics path and support another faction.
The most interesting thing done with Australia was what Tommykay did in modded MP making a mercenary company.
You need to train your navy from day 1, the oil is no issue. that gives you unlimited navy XP.

The titles for wilhelm the second go on longer than haile selassie. I didn’t think he was a prince of orange tho
i was playing the ww1 mod and was trying so hard to win has qing in the civil war which I did just to get thrown into the warlord era right after i finally reunited the nation
I did notice that any divisions you train and deploy as the qing stay with you during the Civil War. So I just rush for a bunch of infantry and some cav for the northern breakaways states and it's easy.
won for Russia in 4 months, as a result, for the victory in the world war, I received only Prussia and a province in ruthenium👍
I can’t get this mod to work. Is there something I have to change in settings or a secondary mod installed to make this work ?! Please help
The fact that the mod is designed to make it nearly impossible for one side to win is inherently broken and unfair
It’s not like that. Alex just did an Alex thing and denied the event that ends the war. The event has a predesigned peace deal for the game that works if you actually accept that event.
i literally cannot choose a favorite to play, since each nation in the mod is fun to play, i mean like the funnest overall is germany cause you can just stomp and stomp easily, but you can copy that when you put effort into a nation like russia or qing or ottomans, so yeah...hard choice

concentrated is beter if yor plaaning to not change your production by a lot like on many of the minor nations and disperced is beter on majors like germany who are going to change their production line quite often

Hey Alex, can you next play as Serbia in 1914.
If you want a really challenging game in TGW redux, play Bulgaria historical and try to win the second Balkan war.
I've literally been trying to do this for countless hours and when I eventually surprisingly won I lost WW1 because there were 10+ divisions on every province of each faction and supply was nonexistent
It wasn't actually that hard before nsb what with the new supply system. Now its virtually impossible.

i played germany today and i won by splitting off belgium, destroying those divisions, then rushing france, then turned to russia,
pushed em back and then the entente surrendered

This is Rule #1 - in any game you should never capitulate UK before France - puppets will get independence and all their factories so Canada, Raj etc. just go majors as soon as UK capitulates and you have to capitulate them as well to get peace deal, just avoid more pain in ass and get peace deal faster - capitulate France first

Last time I played this mod I beat France as Germany in like two months, with maybe 200k casualties combined, it was disappointing compared to other playthroughs I did in the mod, is Germany just broken?
Yea Germany in this mod is a steamroller. Plus the ai sucks as always so it makes it very easy to map paint.
@@PoggoMcDawggo I don't think I even trained a single division, just upgraded my starting ones. I didn't man the Italian front so that might have something to do with it. I've always heard about how it simulates the stalemate well but it didn't that time.
Do another Germany game, the entente is now way too strong as the ai literally just spam divisions and make an impenetrable defense, while getting no debuffs as the war goes on

@@nonaveragejoe0 Yea they updated the mod and made it more difficult to fight majors. I'd recommend doing the focuses that give you boosts to fighters and cas. Motorized with mot. arty also really helped me. And rushing tanks if ya can.

I wish this mod was less "memey". It's hard to feel any immersion when half of the generic leaders are some random actors and Russian politicians.
I love to be in constant agony, so that's why I play as Bulgaria. Fighting to the last man in only a few tiles until someone breaks me out.

Is there an end date to the Great War mod?
It goes well into the interwar years. Goes over the Russian civil war, polish ukranian war, the rise of Mustache man and Italian boi and the breakdown of china to warlords. Basically everything post ww1 just before japan invades china for the 2nd time.

For someone who sometimes plays this mod, I always go down Concentrated industry purely because it helps a bit more with fighting against attrition, and I really only build small guns, big guns and support equipment. But that’s just what I do.
