  • The new T-Pro from Jumper appears to be an excellent little radio with many improvements over the original T-Lite unit. In a couple of weeks I'll drop another video with follow-up information after a few weekends of hard-use.

    Can't wait for the ELRS content. They are doing really cool things with expresslrs and I think that commercial options are in big trouble. I've heard they are working on 1khz update rate on 2.4ghz. :)

    My personal antenna preference is pointing away from you and down at about a 45 deg. angle. This points the null at the ground and behind you as I may fly to my left or right, but seldom behind myself. Works for me anyway. Another great video, thanks.

    Yes you mentioned the rubberized surface.It really does suck my charger had this and got very gewy in the heat so I scraped it all off and repainted it with testers paint in the same color.It took a lot of time to do it.

    Hi Bruce Great video and review of the JUMPER radio, I have a Xlite radio same shape and I like it. I also have not been doing anything with ELRS for the reason is everyone is changing and improving it, I figured I'll wait for the end product. Happy flying Bruce.

    The hobby is advancing so fast with technology + becoming more affordable! My dear old Taranis, as fantastic as it is (was) is now collecting dust. My Jumper T is great, elrs module and receivers on the way, so the revolution is here. Love this radio, thanks for showing it so thoroughly, but I won't be upgrading further till, as you predict, the elrs module is already in the unit, not an add-on.
    Looking forward to your further reviews, and of course, watching all the fun in Xjet. Cheers.

    Momentary switches are often used and perfect for setting double safety for arming of quads. (Or planes)
    I want one of these Hall gimbal remotes for my whoops that don’t crossfire, I’m using a V2 LiteRadio at the moment and the gimbals are way to weak. I love the carry case too, I’m jealous of radios that come with on but love my Tango2.

    Does the carry case have enough space in it to accommodate the ELRS module?
    The momentary switches can be made to act like toggle ones using the 'sticky' option in OpenTx.

  • @alexislechevalier1022
    @alexislechevalier1022 Před 2 lety

    This one solves many problems I may have with my, or on the market, other models :
    - small form factor for easy transport (I take some of my models always with me in my backpack to fly when I've some space and time because I'm frequently on the road/train/plane for work)
    - handle
    - neck strap attachment because I'm not an octopuss and sometimes I need to drop my radio but being able to grab it back in a second for when I put the googles on my googles 😅
    - 6 switches well placed to switch the vtx power on the go as I do on my chubby TX16S
    - momentary switches and sliders for many uses. A camera can start and stop recording or take a photo on demand or the gimbal can be moved with these ones, like I do with the ones on my trusty FS-I6S
    - multi protocol compliance. I can keep flying my old stuff without changing anything.
    - dual 18650 batteries. I vape and I've a bunch of them and good chargers to power my devices. Hard to run out of power.
    - expansion bay for the future. ELRS is in continuous development and I prefer to change a module if the hardware must be changed rather than change the whole radiocontroller. Also, maybe some opponent may appear along the way. Why not a Crossfire++ ? Who knows...
    Finally, I think it is a very interesting mix between what could have done Jumper, TBS, DJI, Eachine and Radiomaster lately.
    Interesting feedback on this one by the way. Can't wait to have more on it to be sure if I grab one. Cheers.

  • @typxxilps
    @typxxilps Před 2 lety

    I like the new Jumper as best of all - if they only had fixed that rubber issue that peeled of so easily as you had said.
    But the ergonomics look better and nick strap attachment is there too. I'd prefer a bitt bigger screen too.
    And I like the big switches on the front that can no longer break.
    I guess I have to get one - but not before a pretty good sale and you had find out if the antenna issues do exists or not.
    Nice review and comparison or shoot out which might be the best.

    I ran a negative wire to the bottom right 18650 battery compartment spring and a positive wire to the top left 18650 battery compartment spring and put an xt30 connector on the end of the wire leading to a 2s 5200 mah lipo battery for rc cars and am using it for an external battery on my jumper tPro .
    Once i accidentaly hooked a 3s battery and noticed the control screen on the tPro said 12 volts so i quickly swiched to the 2s 5200 mah battery . It runs long time now .

  • @arlemooldijk1595
    @arlemooldijk1595 Před 2 lety

    I use my antenna horizontally and pointing to the right side. Could have pointed to the left as well, but I have a MPM module with an extra antenna that points to the left side. I use it like that because I fly high rather than far away. Maximum range is in front of me and also up in the sky and I usually rotate myself to have maximum reception to/from the plane. If I were to put my antenna vertically I would have less reception higher in the air. My receiver antenna are also placed horizontally for the same reason. Never had an issue doing like this. 🥳
    If you fly FPV, like Bruce does, then I understand that you would place the antenna vertically to get wider range around you and less height because you would fly rather low, but also because you might sit or stand still and not rotate to the plane/quad.
    Another advantage of keeping the antenna horizontally in my case is that I don't constantly rotate them and therefore less chance to wear them out or the mount to become loose. 😉
    Just saying that I think it all depends on how you fly. 😀

    Great review! I just got my t-pro. About the antenna, someone had a teardown of the radio and found the antenna is a microstrip antenna. Then the radiation pattern is quite different. If that's true, does it mean there is no need for rotating the antenna to be perpendicular to the ground?
