When Lovebites entered the metal circuit in 2016, they made it clear in their "declaration of intention" that they wanted to make a difference and to do it their way; being just another vanilla band wasn't even a last choice.
They kept word: these awesome ladies have invigorated and further developed the genre in more than one way. What a wonderful journey this is.

The tapping in three places in this song is easily misunderstood because each person is shown in close-up, but Miyako, Midori (guitar), and Miho (bass) are tapping together in all three places.
This song is said to be very hard for vocalist Asami because she has to sing it with all her might from beginning to end, and she got a nosebleed during the first recording of this song.
For a while after that, the band members teased Asami by calling this song "Nosebleed War" instead of "Holy War.
Lovebites are truly astounding musicians. Elite in every way. Miyako and Midori are one of the greatest guitar duos you’ll find in any band. Since you love guitar solos, this is the band for you. All their songs are really good, most are great, and some are masterpieces. Try Judgement Day for pure epicness or Swan Song (with Chopin intro) for the generational talent that is Miyako.

They play a seamless and innovative blend of speed-power/thrash/prog/neoclassical metal/heavy rock/power ballads which makes their sound unique. Welcome to LOVEBITES 🤘🏼🐺🔥
The band is around since 2016 and released their first EP and album in 2017. At this point they have 4 albums, some singles and EPs and also 4 official live DVD/Blu-ray releases.
They’ve already toured in Europe back in 2018/2019, including the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. Then came Covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After that LOVEBITES came back with new bassist and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. New album with the same title came out in February 2023.
LOVEBITES finished touring in Japan a couple of weeks ago. Earlier this year in march they played their comeback show. This was their first live gig since 2021 and first show with their new bassist Fami. There are 4 videos on their YT channel from this show. I suggest „The hammer of wrath“ the first song of this concert for a next reaction.

All i can say is Japan is having a lot more fun then anyone else. Great reaction! Lovebites are all master's at their craft, insanely talented. Most of their song are fully English, Its actually insane how underrated these Japanese's bands are that you been reacting to.

You are never truly ready for a LIVE Lobites performance. They get even better in their later concerts with classical piano, acoustic guitars, ballet, thrash, speed, prog, power metal etc. The talent in this band is insane and many feel like it should be illegal as the talent level is like a monopoly LOL. Welcome to the LB rabbit hole and the vanguard of the all female Japanese bands. Anything LIVE will be awesome as these musicians never ever disappoint.
Welcome to the Wolfpack! Miyako (dark-haried guitarist) could be classical concert pianist, but decided to do a metal band, and we are grateful. In the same vein, can't wait for you to check out Unlucky Morpheus, "Cadaver/Revadac," "Unending Sorceress." and band in which you will find a petite lady, Jill, who COULD be a world-class concert violinist, but instead plays in a metal band. (she even does van Halen's "Eruption" on violin to absolute perfection)
The more I watch these ladies the more I am convinced that it is not the practice of their instruments (although I can't imagine they don't practice) but it is their love for music and an intense love for it at that, which makes them so good! Natural talent included but when someone loves "music" the way these ladies seem to, it is magic after that and such a wonderful thing as I have heard before from others that this band doesn't know how to write or create a bad song! I'm in total and complete agreement to that, as I have tried to find the "worst" song for each album and can't even do that! I am not part of the Wolfpack but I might love this band as much!

welcome to the world of Lovebites the world of beautiful ballads, heavy, power, speed, thrash metal. I've known this band for over 2 years now, and without wishing to offend any of the legendary metal bands I listened to as a teenager, I've come to the conclusion that, in terms of talent, this is the greatest metal band of all time.
They have become my all time fav band since I heard them in 2019. I'm a sucker for guitar solos - and they are incredible. Not just elite musicians, but incredibly talented songwriters. They are so creative with their little nuances - a drumfill here, a china hit there, slight change in a note . Just so good. They don't settle for just great, they go for exceelence.. You could say sometimes it looks like they are just showing off, I'm inclined that in their minds that if it's not something challenging they would be bored.
You were overwhelmed by these ladies and lost for words．
That happened to everyone．
Even more amazing 、now LOVEBITES is better than this 2020 time‼️．

Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. You just watched their most popular choice for first reactions because it sort of captures the basic concept of Lovebites. But there is so much more to go!
In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they waited out the pandemic and searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later.
They did their first live performances in more than two years in summer of 2023, with their new bassist Fami. Their very first show was commemorated on the DVD “Knocking on Heaven’s Gate”. They have posted four performances from that DVD-“”Hammer of Wrath”, “Judgement Day”, “Nameless Warrior” and “Liar”. All of them are barn-burners.
Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet).
Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing.
In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. The instrumentalists studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining.
They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band."

Miyako is also a virtuoso concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. She is self-taught on the guitar. If you want to see what she can do on the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude” (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). Every song on the album is a showcase of their incredible talent and songwriting capabilities. “Stand and Deliver” is a thrasher with a fun video of them in the studio. “Soldier Stands Solitarily”, the final song on the album, is being touted by some as the best thing they’ve done so far-I encourage you to see and decide for yourself!

congrats for finding them and welcome to the wolfpack! yes, they are that good! the lovebites rabbit hole is deep and very rewarding: they have a backcatalogue of around 60 songs. not one one bad, stale or mediocre one, but all pack with great guitarsolos ( not the jamming doodling kind, but the masterful composed ones. my recommendation for next "the hammer of wrath, live tokyo 2023" from their channel. it was the first show after a two year hiatus (covid, childbirth, founder and bassplayer left, marriage) I thought, they were done. but they stuck to their lyrics, stood up and came back. it also was their first show with new basser fami. and for fami it also was the first big live show. enjoy the lovebites journey!

LOVEBITES was formed in 2016 by Miho(Ba) and Haruna(Dr), members of the band "DESTROSE", which went on hiatus in 2015.
The girls made their major label debut in 2017 (March 24) with "THE LOVEBITES EP".
On 18 June 2018, LOVEBITES won 'BEST NEW BAND' at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2018 awards organised by the British metal magazine METAL HAMMER.
On 4 August, LOVEBITES performed on the W.E.T stage at WACKEN OPEN AIR 2018, one of the world's largest annual metal festivals in Germany, with the 10,000 capacity venue almost full.
"Bloodstack open air 2018(Aug. 10)" also participated.
On August 20,2018, LOVEBITES announced that it has partnered with X-ray Touring, one of the largest players in the UK booking agent industry.
LOVEBITES toured the Netherlands, Germany, France and UK from November 13-21, 2018.
Asami (Vo) of LOVEBITES appeared as a guest on stage at Halestorm "Download Japan 2019(March 21)", singing alongside "Lzzy" Hale on Halestorm's 'Love Bites', which gave the band their name.

The remaining girls organised an audition for a new bassist from around the world and recruited a new bassist called Fami(Ba).

Never mind! Yours was a very typical reaction against the unreal reality of Lovebites, the greatest metal band of the 21st century! And I need to tell you have just knocked the gate of Lovebites castle. I recommend Swan Song with Chopin intro, Break the Wall, Frozen Serenade, Liar, Stand and Deliver, etc. But there are many other recommendable songs. Please also check other people’s picks of Lovebites. Ah, in the fall of 2024, they will come to the US for their tour. I can not wait for that!

One of my favorite parts is when Miyako (the dark-haired guitarist) had that nonchalant deadpan expression on her face (similar to MOST Classically-Trained musicians), basically saying "oh, the Lead i did? Oh ,it was just a Tuesday".

I hope they truly bring the appreciation of guitar mastery back... we lost it since the 80's and I think it's a pure travesty. Drop -100 octaves riffs and Djent are not indicative of any real skill with guitar playing. We need to have these examples of what is possible if you truly dedicate yourself to your instrument.
