The Judge made the right move as this was the only thing he could do otherwise the case would have never made it to trial! Fani made a mistake like we all do, however the BAR is so high for everyone else but so LOW for Donald Trump. LONG LIVE FANI 🎉 💯 😊

That would take forever years and I would venture to say no one would even want to take it up. It’s such a complex case not only involving Donald Trump but more than a dozen other defendants. Fani didn't make a mistake. She hired him because he is qualified. Had she calculated what just took place she would not have put either of them in harms way. Any grown woman has a right to make her own decisions about her personal life. Under the circumstances this was just another ploy orchestrated by the opposition

It has been reported that he's associated with the Federalist Society, so we need to watch out for further developments as this case proceeds.

The ruling should not have been a surprise. There is no doubt that a disqualification would have required that the defense prove its burden of proof that there was a conflict of interest caused by Mr. Wade and the DA having a romantic relationship. IMO and in the mind of the judge this burden had not been met.
First, neither of us was fully convinced that a DA who earns $200,000 per year in her position could not afford $9,000 for vacations and to buy her own dinners. Nor were we convinced that a person can't pay in cash. If you really think about it, that would be an average of $3,000 per year out of a salary of $200,000 for vacations. Are we really convinced that she couldn't afford that? Since we didn't have her budget with net income and expenses, we had no right or basis to conclude that she couldn't afford these trips and dinner. In other words, the defense failed to prove the DA didn't reimburse Mr. Wade for booking the trips. The fact is that just because one books a trip for someone else doesn't mean that the person who is booking ultimately pays for the trip.
Second, Mr. Wade was NOT the DA's first choice to select for the position of lead prosecutor. I was convinced by the State's argument that had it been the DA's grand scheme to financially enhance herself by prosecuting Trump and his co-defendants, Mr. Wade would have been her first choice for lead prosecutor. And if she really was dating Mr. Wade before she hired him, then why would she hire him into a job in which he'd receive a pay cut? If her grand scheme was to get Mr. Wade to pay for her cruises and dinners, then it would have made more sense for him to not take a pay cut. This way he could afford to take her on more lavish cruises and dinners.
Third, because nobody really wanted the position because of its lower pay and safety risks, I am more inclined to believe that the DA hired Mr. Wade not to financially enhance herself, but out of desperation. Mr. Wade appears to have been doing better in his private position before he became lead prosecutor on the case. Does it make sense that she would hire her boyfriend knowing that he'd get a pay cut and endanger his own safety just so that he could pay for her cruises and dinners that he could pay for while working in his private practice? Unless I missed something the defense never explained this.
Finally, the judge applied the law to the facts. There was no actual conflict of interest because not a single Constitutional right of the defendants was shown by the defense to have been violated. None. Zelch. Nada. Zero. But because so many don't understand how the law was applied, it makes sense that Mr. Wade is no longer on the case. Good for Mr. Wade for resigning and taking a hit for Team Democracy.
