    I use the hip “grab” on my malamute when her energy gets too aggressive. I don’t squeeze at all I just put my hand there to let her know I’m in control and she learned so fast I barely have to do anything with her anymore. Early then consistent structure works on all living creatures.
    That hip area where the leg meets the pelvis is a very vulnerable place in a fight between animals so letting her know I have access to that place any time helps her know her place in the family. Now all I will do is touch my calf to her hip and she knows what I mean.

      @@brianmilo7662 she is rarely off leash outside but if I come after her she immediately comes to me or if outside she goes to the door to come inside. She knows if I come to get her and I have a no nonsense posture she knows play time is over. I’m really proud of her for learning that without me having to correct her with anything aggressive. I hate having to correct aggression with aggression. If the dog doesn’t come when called just go and get them. It’s amazing how fast they can learn things.

    The technique that Dog Daddy uses is quick and not traumatizing as we all animal lovers can see. If it works and saves the dog from being put down or hurting another dog or a human or simply given up on then I would recommend this to anyone that needs help with their baby.

      However people do need to know the accurate way to do it so that they don't end up entering their dog in the process because it doesn't take a lot of force behind it or anything like that and I can only imagine some people putting too much pressure behind it or as someone else commented he thinks that he's grabbing his balls even though that's not what's happening so people really need to know what they're doing before they end up grabbing their dogs balls or putting too much pressure

    • @shooter7a
      @shooter7a Před rokem +8

      It seems like DD's videos are almost ALL with highly reactive/aggressive/fearful dogs. So you get to see over and over and over that it works. Cesar did not demonstrate it as often or consistently, so its obvious effectiveness was not as clear.

    • @SunnyDlite84
      @SunnyDlite84 Před rokem +5

      I totally agree! Cesar was and is someone who taught me stuff that worked immediately, and dog happy, owners happy, when nothing else worked. The issue I think partly , people jealous, and the other what Cesar and DD have is rare among trainers. And ya either got it or ya don't. If you got it, it can be brought out and honed, but if ya don't, that makes all these critics hate. Not one could save the dogs these guys have. Not even one. I like that you see what I did on that whole hypocrisy. Maybe they racist who knows

      He needs to dominate the dog more, the dog considers you the pack leader, then the dog & lastly your husband! If the dog thinks of someone as ‘lesser’ in the pack power scale they don’t respect them as much & wont obey them as they don’t think they have to! It’s a dog, learn how they think. You probably feed the dog, let your husband do it instead and let him also take over other roles in the dogs life, so it realises that he is higher up than the dog is. Also try having the husband eat in front of the dog and then have the husband give the dog it’s food as in the pack the dominant dogs eat first.

      @tempelhof1986 Před rokem

      A dog doesn't think like humans, it's very much fight or flight. For whatever reason the dog got to this point of reacting badly to other dogs. It could be from a bad experience, it could be from fear or frustration etc. Either way it's not a healthy response and the dog needed to be shown it's not the right choice. However the dog didn't know what it was doing is wrong or want correcting for it. The dog looks like it could be protecting it's owner or it could be something else. The dog either enjoys acting that way towards other dogs or it is reacting out of fear.
      When a dog is in such a wound up state and visually locked on to whatever stimulus triggered the response it is very hard to comment to their brain. Before you can communicate to the dog that the behavior is wrong you need to start working with it waaay before it gets this reactive, i.e. from 100m away etc. Or you can short cut and use a moment of pain where the dog has no idea what just happens and goes into shut down. Does it create a result yes. Does it build trust with the dog, no.
      While I respect this man for working with dogs that most would put in the too hard basket, I personally would not use a technique or others like this.

      Can t we do both really?stop the bad behavior and build trust?correcting this behavior stop the dog acting like he was,and then u can start to work with him...yout method is right too but maybe this man don t have 3 years of everyday training to spend to start enjoying his dog .

Saving dogs lives, and gaining emotional stability, peace for the owners, since these dogs are really a pain in the neck, and soon w/o help a sad, unnecessary loss, forced by law or owners believing it's hopeless. I like everything about him! (But music sometimes makes me sad for all the dogs who had to go, some the most beautiful and intelligent, but owner, even training couldn't help.) But the real reason the dog jumped on his owner, is because he is excited/possibly anxious from the little exercise he was just put thru and he has no real respect for his owner hence why he didn’t give af when he was barking & lunging while his owner was tugging & tripping all over him. His owner hasn’t instilled any boundaries or manners in him. Of course he’s gonna jump up on him 🤷🏽‍♀️

      Dog trainer here: get treats or toys your dog highly values (like really highly values), and start working out (doing training) in public at a really good distance from other dogs, so the other dogs aren't a distraction for him. Reward him super a lot when he looks at the other dogs and doesn't have the jumping and lunging reaction. Eventually start moving him closer and closer (I'm talking over the course of many weeks) towards the other dogs and doing the same thing, still rewarding with high value treats, especially when other dogs are fairly close but he still pays attention to you. Behavior modification takes time in dogs, just like it does in people. Your dog has probably been doing this their whole lives so getting your dog to a place where they don't freak out around other dogs will take time. Victoria Stilwell is a great resource! Good luck!

    I think that some people will have a problem with this but what they need to keep in mind is that this is how dogs correct one another. They just do it with their mouth & teeth instead of a hand & fingers, & Dog Daddy is not hurting the dogs by doing this any more than they hurt one another by doing it. In fact I think his correction probably hurts less. Human fingers are not as sharp as dog teeth. And his correction of them is changing their lives for the better.

    This guy's a joke, hurting the dog isnt training. If I beat my toddler when she has a tantrum does that make me a good parent when shes shut down and doesn't act up because she's scared of me? How's her quality of life moving forward? This guy ain't it.

      Well if your toddler stops misbehaving after you discipline them, then surely it works ?
