    This video gave me the confidence to tackle this job myself and as a result I saved hundreds of euros. I agree that removing the lower engine mount was the biggest challenge.
    The technique of marking the old belt and the gear wheels on the engine is genius. I did buy the special tools but I marked everything too, just as a backup.
    Many thanks for posting this video. Your skill and knowledge was extremely helpful for me.

      Sir as all rubber components , timing belt too have a life and due to repetitive heating and cooling from engine the rubber compounds of the belt starts to break down , so ideally its a good practice to change the belt in 7th year even if its not driven that much .

    • @yourDIYneeds
      @yourDIYneeds  Před 2 lety +1

      Sir , you said you got the clutch changed , so considering that the flywheel was either changed or resurfaced , pressure plate was changed along with the release bearing , ( normal procedure )
      We also have to keep in mind that polo 1.5 tdi have a little bit hard clutch pedal , as compared to the other vehicles of the same category , but it never aches your leg , so we can do the following things
      1. Lubricate the pedal , video on channel available
      2. Replace the hydraulic fluid ( dot4 or dot5 ) shared with brake fluid ( 650 ml required )
      3. Sometimes clutch also gets hard due to slave cylinder , so it can be the last resort , Before suspecting the pressure plate

    Nice work. That definitely was one hell of a job! By the way, why didn't you replaced the water pump too? I've heard that water pumps and timing belts should be replaced together in case of VW'S as water pumps are also a failure point.

    • @yourDIYneeds
      @yourDIYneeds  Před 2 lety +2

      Sir in EA189 engines water pumps are not an issue , so i intentionally left out the water pump , because in case of water pump failure , the main reason comes out to be the lack of lubrication from coolant and as i already changed the coolant twice till the point of timing belt change , so i was not worried and i also kept a track of the engine temp. Zones with obd and it was always in the range .

    Hi thnxs for your videos and they are great but I have a 2003 Peugeot 206 and I wonder it really runs rugh and you can feel pedals shakes and when it comes to heavy rains it really runs smoothly and i always wondered if it is cylinder head or the clutch or the sensors off but the problem is that the pedals shakes normally when I press the throttle and in heavy rains it really gets really smooth just as good as new could it be of missfire or coilovers? Or injectors? No error codes are present

    • @yourDIYneeds
      @yourDIYneeds  Před 2 lety +1

      Sir , as rain cools down the environment , so i guess its more of a affect of temp.
      I will advise you to have a good look at your cooling system , it seems like the efficiency of the cooling system has decreased ,
      New coolant mix after a flush may get the job done .

      About noise and vibration , considering it as a 8 yrs old vehicle , engine transmission and dogmone mount has never been changed , so the noise and vibration will get transferred to the cabin , as engine mounts are made of rubber and rubber gets hard with time , so you have to replace it with new mounts . And a little bit of vibration will still be there , as 1.2 is a 3 cyclinder engine , and a little wobble is one of the natural characteristic of a 3 cyclinder engine

    Hi ji 🙏kar. Can u pls put some light on ABS sensors. My car is suffering from ABS sensor problems. Under warranty each mal functioning sensor were changed every now & then. Service guy says " sir this is normal. There are no special reasons 😳". How is that possible??? Car had run 50000 km of which 40000 were mostly on rough roads. I could feel the Hindrance caused by ABS Sensor while driving on bare foot, for the amount of extra throttle I need give for achieving same speed while ABS was on. Bust showroom vala says ki " sir ese kuch nahi hota"

      Sir in some specific models abs sensors are know to ho out very early , nobody knows the reason why , but yes it happens , and abs will not affect the throttle response in any way sir , maybe thats just psychological

    Buddy why do diesel engines have timing belt PROTECTED IN A PLASTIC COVER, while most of petrol engines have open timing belt?

    • @yourDIYneeds
      @yourDIYneeds  Před rokem

      Sir to be true i have never seen any timing belt without cover , you may be confusing ac compressor or alternator belt ( aka accessories belt ) without cover .
      The reason for cover is , while driving if something gets stuck in between belt and the gear , it can make the belt slip from the pulley and mess the timing up , and as all the known Diesel engines are interference engines , timing belt slipping off the Pulley or timing belt break while engine is running simply means , a big expense . You are in for new valves , valve guides , a new head gasket kit and if too unlucky then new piston or pistons as well , depending upon the damage .
      So thats why , cover is present.
