    After getting the Tethrd ONE Climbing Sticks in October of this past year, Taylor did everything he could to test these in different environments and on different kinds of trees. From the burbs of D.C. to the rolling country of Ohio, these sticks went everywhere! Taylor goes through the things he likes as well as the things he dislikes; AND how to fix those issues.

    My set came in a couple days ago. Really liking them so far. My StickLoc pegs are all black and look longer than than the ones you have on yours. You have orange shorter ones. Will the short orange ones be available later as a replacement? The current pegs do make it a little difficult to line up when stacking the sticks.

    • @HuntUrban
      @HuntUrban  Před 3 lety

      When I filmed this video I had made some pegs that I thought would potentially be a little easier to use than the ones that it came with.... my design was horrible and ended up not working well. Tethrd also sent me a set of pins that the top is shorter on, which allows you to line up the bottom holes and then have the top drop in. They work great and I highly recommend them!

    • @brettbeato4774
      @brettbeato4774 Před 3 lety

      @@HuntUrban I just find it questionable that you created a peg that looks exactly like the Tethrd pegs. What solidifies my concerns is that you release a video, describing ways to make the sticks better, but fail to mention removing the factory black pegs to these orange ones.
      This video was also released before the sticks went up for sale. So the stacking pegs were a known issue before the sticks went out to the general public.
      I respected your opinion, but I’m questioning that now.

    • @HuntUrban
      @HuntUrban  Před 3 lety

      My peg might look like the Tethrd pin from a distance, but it was different.... and worked terribly. So terribly in fact, that I ended up pulling them off and now I'm running the Tethrd pins. It's definitely no secret that I'm very fortunate to get to test gear for plenty of companies, and I make a point to be very blunt, direct, and honest in all of my gear reviews as to what works and what doesn't work for me. If I was using a Tethrd prototype pin, I would have just said so. Also, for the record, I never had an issue with the pins that come on the sticks originally, but I had some ideas as to how I could get them to stack a little easier.

      ALRIGHT, lets start from the beginning. shikar which are 1.5 lbs are 85 dollars a stick. lwcg which are also 1.5 per stick is also 95 dollars a stick. also both are 2 inches longer. which is 8 inches over 4 sticks. negligible. so i heard people bitch over and over again about the standoff distance, my hawk heliums are the exact same as these i went and climbed them again the other day before ordering the stick and you know what? i dont need any more standoff. it would be pointless you pigeon toe going up the tree anyway. so that complaint is so stupid its idiotic, nobody complained the last 3 years about any hawk standoff why now? especially on a 1 lb stick. also. with a knaider to the bottom of my platform with these sticks ill sit at a minimum of 22 feet. i sit 23 with my hawk heliums at 20 inches on a normal day. ALSO ITS NOT A RIVET. its a CHEMICAL WELD, WITH A GRADE 8 ROLL PIN PUT THROUGH THE CENTER, the chemical weld alone is strong enough to last forever. the roll pin just insures it. ALSO THEY CHANGED THE DESIGN OF THE STACKING PINS BEFORE SHIPPING OUT FOR THE MARKET. theyve said it 50000 times. your an idiot, a pessimist and a hater my guy. ANY WAY YOU CUT IT, theyre still a top 3 stick on the market. timber ninjas standoff is the exact same distance. catalyst is going to drop one with a larger standoff but their first carbon stick WAS NEVER IN STOCK.
