- Tethrd ONE Sticks: tethrdnation.c...
After getting the Tethrd ONE Climbing Sticks in October of this past year, Taylor did everything he could to test these in different environments and on different kinds of trees. From the burbs of D.C. to the rolling country of Ohio, these sticks went everywhere! Taylor goes through the things he likes as well as the things he dislikes; AND how to fix those issues.

Best review I've seen of these sticks. First time I've seen the expanding foam mod after hearing a bunch of comments suggesting this. Might actually give these a go. Thanks for the video 👊🏾
Glad it was helpful!
Just ordered One to try single stick+SRT climbing, and the Back Woods Mobile Gear 3 step aider. Really excited to try this out.
That's awesome!! You'll love it. I have a video coming out soon about how I one stick with the ONE stick!
@@HuntUrban can't wait!
Call me insane but you look just like the guy from that you betcha channel that does hilarious comparisons and dad impressions.
Hahaha - thanks! I get that a good bit. Maybe one day we can do a collab!
Wish tethrd can be little less expensive so ppl like us can buy their product and support them. Other than that, using lone wolf sticks
Looking forward to the one stick video you mentioned.
Good work you have described it very well.
ZOLTAN... nice reference lol
Do you have a link to the 5 step aider?
You left out my diss appointment Made in China
Dude where’s my car? Hahaha nice line drop
All the debbie downers are going nuts. Lmfao!
Would love to know what 5-step you are running on the bottom stick. Great video.
Mine will be here tomorrow! Fuck yeah!
You’ll love them!
I’m looking to get into saddle hunting next year. What stick would you recommend the most? Currently interested in these and the Carbon SS sticks from Latitude.
Ordered some yesterday. Looking forward to using them 🤟
What's the price on them? I'm guessing something crazy?
I believe $119 each I went with shikar sticks but I might also get this later this year
I bought 3 + 1 and it was 463!
Dont know know why they don’t sell 4 pack like most other brands I understand mobile light but 4 is still like 4lbs and unless using aiders to me I would think 4 pack or singles
@@ronflood9814 can u buy me them?, I'll send u my address and u can send me them?
Great review!! What aider do you use? I just got my sticks and I am shopping around for the right aider.
With the recalls have you made the jump to the gen3s? What aider are you using ?
When are they coming back in stock?
Excellent question. I was told after the first of the year. I tried getting a more “accurate” exact date but have not heard back yet.
Forgot one “things I like”:
They were free.
Definitely a plus!
Just got my sticks today. Trying to figure the best method of attaching my aider. Any ideas?
Awesome! I bought a really short nylon climbing runner, and have it girth hitched through the attachment point on my aider, then I girth hitch it around the tube of the step. Works great!
Are these the gen 2's ? Also, how are the standoffs? I hear you can barely get your boot on them because thier so close to the tree your on your tippy toes
My set came in a couple days ago. Really liking them so far. My StickLoc pegs are all black and look longer than than the ones you have on yours. You have orange shorter ones. Will the short orange ones be available later as a replacement? The current pegs do make it a little difficult to line up when stacking the sticks.
I’ve been playing around with different options on the top trying to figure out a slightly faster way to get them together, but it’s obvious why they come the way they do... they work the best that way!
Would the lock tight void any warranty?
Was trying to figure out who this dude reminds me of....then it hit me, Jack Black.
No. It's Brian "Q" Quinn from Impractical Jokers. They could be brothers for sure.
If you get a late season harvest; can a hungry hunter get one?
I've run two seasons with a donut.
Located in fairfax County. Willing to pick up the harvest...
Thanks much!
More than happy to give you a deer. Shoot me a DM on IG
Will the spray foam start to smell if moisture gets inside it?
It shouldn't - it's designed to be a water barrier for filling cracks in homes and keeping moisture out, so it should work fine.... but I'll report back if it starts stinking!
What is the weight limit? Im 6'4" 315lbs
What aider do you use?
I’ve been playing with different aiders, but the one I’m using most is a 5 step Yates Bigwall
What adjustment peg did you use for the top pegs?
I 3D printed some
Why did you replace the factory pegs with aftermarket orange stacking pegs? How come you didn’t mention that in your video?
Also, grade 8 roll-pins do not exist to my knowledge.
When I filmed this video I had made some pegs that I thought would potentially be a little easier to use than the ones that it came with.... my design was horrible and ended up not working well. Tethrd also sent me a set of pins that the top is shorter on, which allows you to line up the bottom holes and then have the top drop in. They work great and I highly recommend them!
@@HuntUrban I just find it questionable that you created a peg that looks exactly like the Tethrd pegs. What solidifies my concerns is that you release a video, describing ways to make the sticks better, but fail to mention removing the factory black pegs to these orange ones.
This video was also released before the sticks went up for sale. So the stacking pegs were a known issue before the sticks went out to the general public.
I respected your opinion, but I’m questioning that now.
My peg might look like the Tethrd pin from a distance, but it was different.... and worked terribly. So terribly in fact, that I ended up pulling them off and now I'm running the Tethrd pins. It's definitely no secret that I'm very fortunate to get to test gear for plenty of companies, and I make a point to be very blunt, direct, and honest in all of my gear reviews as to what works and what doesn't work for me. If I was using a Tethrd prototype pin, I would have just said so. Also, for the record, I never had an issue with the pins that come on the sticks originally, but I had some ideas as to how I could get them to stack a little easier.
How many sticks do you run with that 5 step aider?
3 sticks! Running the aider on the bottom stick.
Did you swap your top pegs stacking for shorter ones?
I was playing around with my 3D printer and some ideas!
@@HuntUrban I'll take 6 lol please and thank you!
My beast sticks weigh 8 lbs but they don't fall apart
What are the little orange studs under the top step?
I was 3D printing some different ideas - ultimately the ones they come with work better than my stupid ideas
@@HuntUrban Thanks. Which stealth strips fit the best?
@@HuntUrban 3D printed huh? That's funny they look identical to the new ones they are shipping. What else are you lying about?
@srt saddle hunter - so I print something that’s orange, respond about it, and then when Tethrd also happens to have a pin that’s completely different than mine, you call me a liar? Cool dude. Troll on.
Yes you are a liar. Your obviously lying about something. Now you either 3d printed those pins which I highly doubt and tethrd liked what you did and copied them or tethed sent you those orange pins to try as well. Also the stock pins are crap and now everyone knows about it. Probably why someone would try to print there own better version. Either way you're a liar.
U look really cute in this video. I really like the beard. Very very nice
bro?
Gaydar alert
@@79brumley don't be like that, me and alot of people like me watch these hunting based videos bcs the men are stunning. We want real men, and these hunting guys tend to fort the bill, and I was just pointing out how nice and soft his beard looks... Looks great on him
Over priced, weak design. Won’t last more than two seasons with that rivet. Also the foot spacing from the tree is one of the worst on the market. Hope you like standing on your toes.
Oh and those studs won’t last either, there are already reports of them breaking off within a half season of use. Did I mention the price?
For a guy whose 6'3" and using 4 sticks with a 5 step aider and he's ONLY getting 18 feet. Ridiculous.
ALRIGHT, lets start from the beginning. shikar which are 1.5 lbs are 85 dollars a stick. lwcg which are also 1.5 per stick is also 95 dollars a stick. also both are 2 inches longer. which is 8 inches over 4 sticks. negligible. so i heard people bitch over and over again about the standoff distance, my hawk heliums are the exact same as these i went and climbed them again the other day before ordering the stick and you know what? i dont need any more standoff. it would be pointless you pigeon toe going up the tree anyway. so that complaint is so stupid its idiotic, nobody complained the last 3 years about any hawk standoff why now? especially on a 1 lb stick. also. with a knaider to the bottom of my platform with these sticks ill sit at a minimum of 22 feet. i sit 23 with my hawk heliums at 20 inches on a normal day. ALSO ITS NOT A RIVET. its a CHEMICAL WELD, WITH A GRADE 8 ROLL PIN PUT THROUGH THE CENTER, the chemical weld alone is strong enough to last forever. the roll pin just insures it. ALSO THEY CHANGED THE DESIGN OF THE STACKING PINS BEFORE SHIPPING OUT FOR THE MARKET. theyve said it 50000 times. your an idiot, a pessimist and a hater my guy. ANY WAY YOU CUT IT, theyre still a top 3 stick on the market. timber ninjas standoff is the exact same distance. catalyst is going to drop one with a larger standoff but their first carbon stick WAS NEVER IN STOCK.
This has been debunked on David Toms channel. He measures lone wolf, hunting beast, hawk helium’s, and lone wolf customs side by side. Stop talking out of your ass.
@@BWB-vb9xb 3 sticks and a 1 step aider my platform is at 20 ft - same as 4 cut down XOP sticks, and the step spacing on these is roughly 1 inch larger in these than it is my XOP 3 step cut down to 2. I’m 5’8 for reference
