  • In this video, I talk about DO's, SO's and IO's! Don't know what those acronyms mean? Then you need to watch this.

This is a great guide. I'm a rich 50 that lvls with attuned enh, but sometimes I don't want to invest too much into a toon and what is talked about in the video is similar to what I do. I find the 5 enh from the p2w are enough to get you through to 20ish. I may slot 1 accuracy on each power. Then i look for accuracy set bonuses for lvling.
And I cannot stress the importance of slotting the 6 most powerful enh that should be in EVERY BUILD. The two defense set enh that reward resistance, the two resistance set enh that reward 3%def each and the 7.5%hp, and Panacea on health. Some of the perk enh are stronger than the power your putting them on.

These guides are awesome! I love your tone and the way you explain things. Will you be doing a video on Incarnate system? I'm level 41 and getting a little overwhelmed researching it for when I turn 50.

Thank you! I do want to do one eventually, but there's so much about it I don't know yet. I know the basics to get started however and can probably do one on that. Before that, I should do one on set bonuses :D

The successful merge of Origin Enhancements only gaining you 1 level doesn't seem like much, but given their short life, 6 levels 3 up 3 down, it's a nice bonus.

DOs for me until 32, then I slot the SOs until 50. At 50 I start making my IO sets. Sell recipes and salvage from 20 to 50 to buy everything.

i don't have 10s or 100s of millions of influence to burn through so i buy DOs until i hit level 22.
i then start to craft lvl 25 IOs. at that point i can trade in merits for the enhancement converters or boosters if i need to buy crafting material from the auction house.
i won't look into sets until i'm able to slot lvl 50 enhancements.

So if you do a single story art, you usually have enough INF to complete sets of IOs up through the teens. Your next story arc (which only takes you up to level 10 with triple xp from my experience on reunion) doubles that. Money really isn't an issue in this game, even super early on. Check out my video on that subject.
The problem with running SOs through those levels is that you really waste more money due to opportunity costs. You're getting through your teen levels slower because you're killing slower. That's hours tacked onto your leveling experience that you're not at level 50 where you make (generally at least) 1 mil INF/hour through kills alone - to speak nothing of the 3-10 mil INF/hour you make with higher level story arcs.
So by purchasing SO's early via the merit reward conversion method, you actually make more money in the long run -- more than enough to cover the higher cost by far.
Just as another example, last night I ran Freaklympics with a friend (level 29). We earned 57 merits in 2 hours - worth about 10 mil INF.
