  • The word 'Benedictines' originates from a man called Benedict, born in 480 in Nursia, Italy. As a hermit he created rules for monks that became the most important inspiration for monastic life in the next 15 centuries. The St.Paulus abbey in Oosterhout and the Sint Willibrordus abbey in Doetinchem, which still live according to his rules, are pictured in this episode.
