Why did South Sudan Split from Sudan?

- Some of you may have heard about the split of the country of Sudan in 2011 when the southern part of Sudan chose to leave. That's nice and all but it brings up a question. Why did South Sudan leave Sudan? This video will explain why.

The real reason is money and power. Corrupted leaders from both sides took advantage of the differences as a way of creating war for their own gains, not for the people.

In all fairness the central government neglected and abused everyone (darfur for example). Which is why Omar Al Bashir was toppled by northerners.
South Sudan has no ports and very weak infrastructure which leaves it open to abuse by its neighbors despite its abundance of resources. Its been in a civil war since it became independent.
Nice video . I was talking about it today with a cab driver that was upset about. It sounds like the SUDAN is upset about it and the SOUTH SUDAN people are happy.

South Sudan broke from Sudan because Sudan is filled with Muslims and mixed people. South Sudan did not want their territory and cutlure to be obliterated so they split.

People in the north blame American and Israel for the split, but Americans and Israel only succeeded because of ignorant in the north to accept diversity in Sudanese society; and to make things worst, northern sudanese haven't learned anything from the split. They are still doing the same thing to southern kordufan , blue nile and darfur. they are not even Arabs, but they are black Africans with identity crisis. I am from the north and majority here are not Arab. It is just a propaganda to divide and rule. I am happy that the south left. The only people who are upset about the split are the northerners who upto these days refused to accept their roles in the separation but are quick to point fingers at outsiders. South may have their problem now , but they are happy to leave from where everything is tied to religions.

The main reason was our northern brothers were treating us the south Sudanese as their slaves despite the fact that all the wealth were coming from the south
