I have been asked to make a video for a long time. It puts my mind at ease now that I can teach and show you how to make a texture hammer.

[ GUIDE ]
The nitric acid (etching solution) used in the video is diluted with 80% water and is not very dangerous. It's relatively safe because it's as acidic as the vinegar we eat, and it's okay to lightly smear it on your hands.

Beautifully built texture hammer! Didn't know nail polish would work as resist on 20% HNO3 but worked perfectly and the etch was deep enough to make quality patterns. The Cocobolo was stunning and adding the brass pins was a nice touch! Thank you for showing this technique and another artisan tool fabrication!! A real treat for the soul.
Thank you for recognizing and praising my efforts to create good content.

I loved watching this process. I am going to try this. Is there something other then nail polish that protects the metal also. Thank you, I would love one of your hammers.
Besides nail polish, you can also use enamel paint, vinyl masking tape, etc.
thanks~
Hey, I'm from Brazil! I came across your channel by chance, and I'm in love with your work! You are an inspiration for me!
What are the benefits of camellia oil on metal?
Camellia oil is vegan oil.
The reason for applying oil is to delay
and protect the oxidation of the silver surface.
A very thin oil film protects the surface.
After applying the oil, clean it again to finish.
The camellia oil that I use is safe to eat.
It is a very good natural oil that is harmless to the human body even
when the ring is worn on the hand.
This is the part that a lot of people are curious about.
Since my work does not have a special finish after completion,
As a minimum surface protection, it is often finished by applying natural vegetable oil and wiping it.
Although it is not shown in the video, it is sometimes coated with natural beeswax (honeycomb).
Beeswax melts easily even at low temperatures (approximately 60-80 degrees) by applying slight heat to it and coating the entire work.
Since what I am aiming for is nature-friendly as it is, it can be viewed as a minimum protection work.
Interesting choice with the .45 caliber casings, a lovely piece as always though! I can't tell if the rain I heard was from the music you added, or if that was genuinely present the day you filmed, but it was a great touch either way!
Your ears are very sensitive and high performance.
It actually rained a lot. to hear that...
In Korea, where I live, there is a large annual temperature difference.
It is a very hot, humid and rainy season these days.
Thank you very much for watching my video~
👏👏
Hi, love your work, thank you for sharing so much knowledge and amazing craftsmanship. Could I please ask - what is the purpose of the brass pegs you put into each end. It looks to me that when you put the hammer head on you would have drilled right through it at that end? Wondering if it is some sort of strengthening for the timber or just cosmetic? Thank you again for sharing.
The brass cover serves two purposes.
One, it acts like the head of a nail.
The two are designed like bullet casings and serve as beautiful decorations.
Thanks~
I'm not a metal worker so I half expected that for making these hammers one would need regular tools and to cut into the metal.
Using the acid is such a simple and genius idea.
Also I really like the background music you put in this video.
Kinda curious, what was that electric screwdriver you used?
The electric screwdriver I used can be easily purchased from a global tool sales site. Search.
The one I used in the video was bought by my friend for me.
If you have one, it will be relatively inexpensive and useful.
Thank you for supporting me a lot and I will try to show you better videos. thanks~
Hammer Art...
Thank you for subscribing to my channel for a long time and praising the video.
gracias ~
Cool looking meat tenderizer😂

Thank you for giving me a good review of my work and video.
Fantastic work an beautiful results, the little nut an bolt, that you used too hold the handle on with.
What are they called an we’re did you source them from please.
A set of charging drivers?
I don't know the exact name. sorry.
Thank you for giving me a good review of my work and video.
try searching for Chicago screws.
The screw type is called a "Torx", they were designed as "anti-tamper" screws for electrical items but that became pointless once the driver was commonly available to public.
Good night! I love your work so full of inspiration for me, thank you.
I would like to know if i can use another acid for this job of build this hammer. From Brazil . Thank you, master.
I don't know if another acid is available.
I have been using sulfuric acid for over 30 years and it works perfectly.
😊
HI S.M :) Great work and well done for your videos :) i was wondering where did you buy the original hammer head ? i can't find it in internet, could you share a link ?
The hammer head was made by an acquaintance of mine who works with iron. It is not purchased.
Sorry for not being able to help.
Wow. I wish I could sand that fast. 😬
What type of pneumatic rotary tool do you use?
You make everything look so damn easy.

It’s an ordinary wooden lathe. Thank you~

Thank you very much again for another inspiring video. Unfortunately in Germany we can't buy the acid HNO3 20%. Is there another acid, that I can use?
Stay safe and have a good time.
Greetings from Germany
It can also corrode by immersion in a ferric chloride solution.
Thank you for giving me a good review of my work and video.
Thank you very much for your soon answer, I'll give them a try:)
Maybe it can be useful, I (when I didn't have the possibility to buy any acids) used a simple solution of salt and vinegar and a 9 volt battery for shallower etchings (I had to etch a pattern from a 16th century armour).
@@roccoautelitano7330 Thank you very much for the help😁
Greetings from Germany
Enable playback on other websites please. We'd like to post his on our homemade tools forum.
I do not want to post it on other websites.
@@SilverMeister Understood, thanks. We've never heard that before.
Ferric chloride is probably a bit easier to get, and will eat up steel just as nice as the nitric acid
Ferric chloride is also used.
Each worker has a different application method.
This video only shows the use of nitric acid.
In some cases, acetic acid is used, and sometimes sulfuric acid is used.
Where did you get the hammer head?
It was made by an acquaintance of mine.

where can i buy this hammer
This is not a hammer made for sale.
This is a video to help several people make their own hammers.
Do you sell these Hammers
This hammer is not for sale. Sorry
The finishing touches you do, like the bevels on top with the file are precious.
Your idea of using a Chicago screw to secure hammer head to handle is fantastic. I wonder if this would hold up with the forces experienced by a carpenter’s hammer or forging hammer.
Where did you get those special Chicago screws, they are beautiful.
Oh, one more thing. You drilled that hole by hand. I would be too worried about alignment of the two ends. Those things must be centered. But you just did it by hand. Sign of a true master.
The brass rods at the ends are beautiful.
Videos cannot show the entire process.
Try to work as precisely as possible.
Thanks~
Smash some silver with it please
I don't know what it means.
The hummer for 1000$?
no.
I just made it myself for my own use.
Thank you very much for the contribution, I learned a lot. Excellent idea and workmanship, thank you very much. Please, what kind of steel is used and what is the heat treatment, what is the hardness?
The iron applied to the hammer head is carbon steel with a hardness of about 58.
For me, the strength of the iron and heat treatment are not important.
This is because a hammer is used exclusively for working with non-ferrous metals such as silver, gold and copper.
@@SilverMeister Many thanks for the quick response and professionalism. I remain a loyal follower of yours.
