I almost passed on this, and dude when I saw the molded in deco with the callback to the original stickers I lost it. And those ratchets. Come on bro amazing
I've dreamed of this ever since my childhood. There's no way I was going to pass on this one.
The molded and painted deco is what pushed me over the line on getting one. I figured it’s a one-time purchase of something I’ve pretty much wanted for my whole life.

I love this figure. I went back and forth, but finally ordered one. I had to go with the C-01 over the C-02 animated version. If those decals details are going to be molded, I wanted to get the full advantage of seeing them in their painted glory, instead of just painted over with red, blue, or gray.
Also, I always liked the way the G1 toy looked with his blue face and yellow eyes, and always wished the cartoon looked more like the toy instead of hoping the toy looked more like the cartoon.

Shoutout to bbts! Just got mine off the pile o loot! This is amazing as a reissue and properly done! Only thing I wished was the trailer was more metallic like but overall! I love it
Love this review! My C01 Convoy just shipped, but hearing the joy in your voice while going through the transformation and the additional articulation already tell me everything I need to know about this new and improved G1 Prime.

I was thinking of that scene! Great review so far! I received my Takara Tomy Transformers C-01 Missing Link Optimus Prime with Trailer in the last week of March 2024--you're in for a TREAT! The new iteration of Mr. Prime makes the original G1 look like a brick!!!!!
Because this version is so awesome, I'm going to get C-02!

Just coming back from overseas, so I'm playing catch up with CZcams. But this Prime is beyond fantastic! I got it just before I left, and haven't put it down since I've been back! I feel like a giddy 5 -year old playing with him! And yes, I'd be very surprised if Takara doesn't put out a Megatron in this line.
Welcome back! I love C-01. When I get a new toy that I love, it sets on my nightstand until I add it to the collection shelf. This Optimus took down Wheeljack, who took down s.h.figuarts second form Frieza, who reigned for over six months. I think it might beat MOTU classics castle Grayskull record of one year!
Got the C-02 (anime version). Wow. Impressed. A 40+ year old toy rebirth. Amazing how and what they did to bring Optimus Prime to current toy articulation. I compared him with my original G1 and except for the headlights, you wouldn't see a difference (unless you really look at it). And after 40 years, they finally fixed his gun so he can hold it correctly! And no extra hands to lose too!
I would never have believed that in 1984 that they would still be making generation one Transformers with articulation in 2024. Just wow.

They really knocked it out of the park and hit me on my 10 yo head. I have 2 and getting a third to just stay in the box. Hope they have more to come

@@80sTransfromersFan Yeah. I have a tendency to do that with my TF collecting. If I really like the mold and it strikes the right iconic poses, I often get several of the same character and pose them in all the various dope poses I could get out of it. That’s why I have 5 MP Prowls and 1 MP Bluestreak. It’s something about that mold that was able to pull off the poses that I thought was the essence of Transformers when I saw them in 84. It looks like dope TF box art come to life.
Good video brother. Good analysis and in overall in depth. I was disappointed with the catalog of maybe incoming transformers to come especially the autobots. I ordered 2 of each😮 hit my wallet pretty hard. Good video

I wish they had went with metal plates inside the trailer instead of the stickers that Hasbro changed them to back in the early 80's. I have this figure as well.
I don't think we will ever see metal plates again.
yeah bro I didn't get greedy either I got C-01. I saw a review of C-02 and I had to get one. C-02 is more cartoon accurate and beautiful.

Megatron is my favorite Decepticon of all time. But it's always so many loop holes to make him because of his gun mode.
That I have little hope.
They want him in silly colors as a gun for safety reasons.
Or he's always a tank.
@@treysolo925 Takara has reissued G1 Megatron at least 5 times since 2001 . They're not bound by the same laws as the US.

That's was my gripe last year when Hasbro released a couple of the original characters from the movie last year.
I was like "how are you going to do that if you can't release the main villain from the 1st 2 seasons?"
I liked the painted on parts of Starscream so you don't have to worry about putting on stickers that come off fade over time or fade. And the cartoon red optic color was a nice touch.
But then the silliness begun.
The giant null rays and long missles that came with most of the original Seekers, reissues.
I grew up in that timeline.
Almost every guy child at that time had either Transformers or Gobots.
And not one of them were putting out an eye from the Transformers accessories weapons.
Children safety is extremely important.
But these safety laws treat children like their comprehensive levels are at the level of that of an extremely dumb cartoon character.
He really is perfect isn’t he. I have both versions and C02 has cartoon colored matrix with light piping. I keep my trailer version in box and transform animation version all the time

After opening this one, I've decided to buy the C-02 off Bigbadtoystore so I can have one to play with and one to keep minty.
I checked he be 200 bucks after tax any shipping Canadian so I just goin to have to wait until I get a ko G1 Prime . Congrats on living ever 80s kid dream but me jealous a heck you went down on my like meter from 4 star to 3 plus 90% of one haha

Lack of a launcher is pretty much a deal breaker.
As flexible as this toy is it would only been easier for me to accidentally break as a boy.😂
Definitely, I'm so used to the limitations of the original toy that I thought I broke it 4-5 times during the video.
