It’s hard to believe The Boys season 2 is over already! It seems like we were just getting started with things like Butcher ramming a whale with a boat and now we’re at the end and Victoria Neuman is popping heads left and right! The point is, the world of the Boys is such a big place and so much stuff happens, that it’s sometimes hard to keep track of everything and everyone.
But that’s what we’re here for! Today’s video is all about the supes in the Boys and breaking down everyone’s powers, abilities and weaknesses. Like obviously there’s the big guns like Black Noir with his pain tolerance/ability paired with his crippling tree nut allergy, or Homelander with his god-like powers coupled with a few deep insecurities, but this video will also break down all the other supes we’ve seen on the show that aren’t just in the Seven, like Mesmer with his mind reading abilities and Doppelganger with his powers of shapeshifting! Every main supe will be on this list!

the eardrum is essentially just a flap of skin it's not rocket science to repair as long as the inner ear structure is intact
imagine having a disability, being injected with a compound and given superpowers to overcome it, training your entire life to become one of the greatest heroes in the world despite your disability, coming before your idol, only for him to put all the time and effort you spent to gain his respect to waste by shattering your eardrums and making your only power completely useless. poor kid, he didn't deserve that.

I don't think Stormfront can resist to Homelander's laser eyes. I think Homelander can regulate their strength, so that's why he just burnt her. And it's pretty obvious because we see his lasers cut people and planes in half, but also only heating the small milk bottle.
He wasn't heating her up to smash that booty. It's safe to say he wanted to hurt her maybe not kill her.

Most underrated is Starlight even if she dosen't have her blinding light powers she is still strong and durable: an upgrade from lamplighter. LL got afrade of a gun Frenchie was pointing at him so I naturally assumed his durability was normal and ofcourse Starlight still can burn or blast opponents. Just wait till she becomes more skillfull

I love how Shawn Ashmore went from playing a superhero with cryokinetic abilities to a guy with pyrokinetic abilities. So he went from being Iceman to basically become Pyro with a different name

i'm sure most people already noticed but I find it ironic how the actor who played Iceman is playing Lamplighter, who is basically Pyro.

I liked seeing Homelander slowly realise that while he reigns supreme over humans, there are defintely supes who could take him out under the right circumtances. He has rarely ever had to test his powers or had to fight to survive. Put him up against Soldier Boy or a suped up Butcher and fighting ability starts to play a part.

She will go after everyone she feels went against her (The Super 7, the Scooby Doo Anti-Hero group, and the kid). In the end, Sups (including Captain Superego) and the muggles will need to join forces as again to take her down permanently.

Homelander alone can destroy her, and even Frenchie came up with weapons to take her down, she's not that much of a threat.
I very seriously doubt that she will come back in any meaningful way. We've seen that she can regenerate, but do not have evidence that this happens very quickly. If it did, we would see her immediately start to heal from the kid's attack on her. Instead, we see no evidence of even her burns _beginning_ to heal at the end of season 2. Also, even if she did come back, we last saw her babbling German nonsense, indicating some major permanent brain damage.

if she has regenration, then any physical harm to her brain will be fixed, and any emotional problems could be healed by therapy.
Lamplighters weakness was illustrated pretty well with the guy who pukes acid who accidentally kills himself 10 seconds into his first fight.

15:54 - You forgot to mention that Gekko feels little to no pain.... I mean, some guy spent like a solid couple of minutes just hacking away at the dude's arm, and Gekko didn't ever react in any way to it, he did not even so much as flinch. Also, I'm pretty sure Blindspot's dead... he lost a LOT of blood from Homelander's attack!

I think we all missed something, something amazing. Homelanders son is (Stronger) He blast her with heat vision and literally cuts her apart with one blast. Maybe its the rattle snake affect where he can't really control his abilities and put to much power into it. But she was getting burned by Homelander for kicks with on real effect.
Homelander was definitely holding back from going full powered laser on her breast.

Doppelganger is not dead. Shape shifter 101 says that when a shape shifter dies they revert to their original form. Since he didn't do that after Homelander "killed" him, he is still alive. He probably faked his death to get out from under Homelander's thumb.

Shape shifting is always a weird one. If he can reform his body, then why can't he reform into a healed state? I'd agree he probably wasn't dead, but who knows what the show has planned. Headcannon if he never gets mentioned again is that he's still alive.

I think it’s interesting that the baby has blue laser eyes instead of red. Homelander and by extension Ryan have red and the color is probably effected by the way their eyes create the laser. Lets say they work like Star Wars blasters where the energetic potency of the gas being compressed effects the power and color of the blast with yellowish orange being the weakest and green being the strongest. I wonder if they’re going for something similar which eludes to that baby having stronger powers than both homelander and Ryan
I think it's similar to stars. red stars are the coolest, and blue stars are the hottest. maybe it has to do with the heat.

My favorite part of the boys is it feels like no one's powers are completely fleshed out. It feels like everyone has the ability to do more and be more. Like they can still learn and adept to new powers and skills. Like homelander. All I can think of bis like super strong. Flight. Lasers. And indestructible. But like maybe he has got more to him that he doesn't know or chooses not to use anymore...

A-Train apparently also has the super ability of suppressing noise. He is seemingly somehow able to move faster than the speed of sound, yet we never hear a sonic boom and also, despite the absolute clatter his footsteps would make when he is running through a room fast enough that you can't see him, somehow no one ever hears him either.
Also, Translucent's power doesn't add up. If it is just his skin that turns into a carbon meta-material that bends light then shouldn't we still be able to see all of his hair (on his head and his body), the front of his eyes (unless he constantly keeps his eyes closed), his teeth and tongue and the inside of his mouth whenever he opens it, and even his finger and toe nails floating around?

If I had to guess, I'd say it's probably all the organic material somehow... just because of the fact that he had to take off his clothes. If you think about it, none of their powers add up. There is no evidence that getting shot in the eye would even damage her eye. Starlight is one of the only characters in this who fights that never bleeds.

homelander wasnt trying to kill stormfront with his laser he was controlling it and using a weaker laser. ryan on the other hand has never controlled his laser power so he just went full blast

Ryan's still pretty young so doubt he's anywhere near it yet but still shows just how strong laser eyes are considering stormfront is still pretty durable and he easily cut through her.

I think that, if she absorbs alot of electricity, her powers will get upgraded (stronger, more resistant, shoot light beams from her eyes and hands, stronger light blasts... and also fly).

his personality is more like Hyperion, a lesser known Marvel villain, who thinks he's a god and a hero, even tho he's actually a bad villain.
Belal Abu Sultan I agree with you. Tony Stark’s personality, though misled and self-centered at times, has the best intentions behind it. Homelander does not. He thrives off of being praised no matter what evil actions he’s done in the shadows. He would never be the self-sacrificing hero Tony is and was.

Been avoiding it mainly because I just don't really enjoy gritty superhero deconstructions. Sorta the whole concept of superhero stories is that they're meant to be lighthearted fun you shouldn't take too seriously.

I think all the powered up people have increased strength and durability it's just that each one of them are increased based on their powersets. The Deep for example is a lame powered individual but he can fight and is stronger than the average person. Starlight for whatever reason may just be physically stronger than The Deep. Neither of their powers are strictly physical strength though. The reason Homelander and Black Noir are that durable is because their powersets are set to be that way and include increased physical strength and durability. As we saw in the current season of The Boyz, the superheroes were created not born so when making formula's to create them possibly they gave out different powersets to different people with higher durability, strength etc. For example, If A-Train just had super speed he'd die running through a wall or objects or into people so he has to have durability too to use his superspeed AND he has to have boost to his reflexes like Black Noir has because he has to see where he's running to dodge and navigate, so he can't just have superspeed.
They can’t control the V nor the powers it gives. It’s a crap shoot. Strength and durability just comes down to luck of the draw. And yes certain skills yield better results and strengths for abilities placing some above others.
The plothole that I noticed with powers is how Starlight was useless aginst Stormfront when she could just absorb her electricity and blast her to smithereens with all of that power.
Stormfront has power over plasma. It still doesn't make complete sense, but it's not just electricity that stormfront uses:

Plasma is a state of matter that is of sufficiently high energy that the electrons are no longer tightly bound to the atom the way that they are in a solid, liquid, or gas, but are instead free flowing throughout the system.
When we talk about electricity, I assume you mean what we draw from outlets in walls to power various devices by creating an electric current. In this case, electrons move through a substance, such as a wire, based on a charge gradient, which is commonly referred to as the voltage. However, these electrons are not free of the substance through which they flow, which is why they encounter resistance and creates some heat.
Distilled water does not conduct electricity for this reason; there is no carrier.
Plasma is a carrier... One with a lot more pressured energy - might be difficult to manipulate/adsorb.
The less tightly bound the electrons are (as well as some other properties of the substance), the easier it is for electrons to flow, resulting in less resistance. Hence why a plasma will readily conduct electricity. As an interesting demonstration of this, the CZcamsr Veritasium showed how fire (which is a plasma) is able to conduct electricity. So it might be easier just to imagine stormfront is shooting fire... High amounts of destructive energy.
Similarly, starlight couldn't start a car, while nearly everything around us has some electricity - at least Goku was thaught to use the spirit bomb on this principle xD
