This is wonderful. The Lord has been speaking to me in prayer about the book of Micah. So I have been praying , reading and listening about Micah. I love the that you pinpointed that God called these prophets, not that they were taught , like some claim to be able to do.

As always, outstanding work, Kendra! Your John MacArthur-esque view on the concept of modern day prophets is not going to endear you to certain camps. Welcome to the club! 😎 You also pointed out something I never noticed before. The OT prophets hardly ever preached prosperity. It was usually the false prophets (much like today) who did!

Thank you for helping me to understand more where I was a little confused.
I liked how in this chapter you mention how the false prophets predict good, but the prophets of good prophecy the judgment of God. I am so with you on this. Then you go and talk about how there are people today running around doing the same thing. I belong to a group to unmask the NAR, which is one group who holds schools to teach people how to prophecy. Doreen Virtue, while interviewing Lindsay Davis, a former member of Bethel church, commented on Lindsay's first class of prophecy, saying, "That's like a cold read. I used to teach new psychics to do the same thing." You are so right. You cannot teach prophecy. The Holy Spirit calls you. As this is mentioned in 1st Corinthians 12 as one of the gifts of the Spirit, there's no reason to believe that He still does not utilize this gift. It may take on a different form, and it's sure not going to be something people can get by specific training. Also the word "prophecy" has 2 meanings. One is foretelling, which we see very little of except as a counterfeit, the other is forth-telling, that is delivering the Truth of God's Word in the Spirit it is meant to be delivered. It is my opinion that the latter is the Gift of Prophecy mentioned by Paul.

Oh wow,where have you been all this time.I came across your video when looking for something extra on Micah chapter 2 yesterday ,I am now doing three and loving it.I just had a quick pointer about prophets,I believe according to scripture we still have prophecy,in the five fold ministry and people that hold that office are prophets,prophecy is also a gift of the Spirit ,and saints can have that gift in church.Prophecy according to Paul is an important gift (as it edifies the church) when compared to tongues which edifies only the person unless there is an interprator.I still believe prophets are there,their job description has changed a little bit,from what they did in the OT, to encouraging,exhorting and comforting saints(there is a verse that talks of what prophecy does.
I love how you encourage us to grab our bibles to make it feel like we are having bible study together with you. I just found your channel and I like what you are doing. God bless and may you walk in Gods strength forever and ever.
