From what I understand with the Apple ad, it's the insinuation that the iPad Pro can render various appliances defunct. Another way of looking at it is to imagine Netflix making an ad of them burning down a movie theater before the ashes consolidate into a membership gift card (not with people inside, of course). It's pretentious and makes it look like Apple is saying that their new device is so cool that musical instruments, paint, cameras and so on aren't necessary anymore because the iPad is apparently an amazing all-in-one device without any compromises. "You don't need your guitar or canvas anymore because our product offers both of what they have and more."

Basically Sony made it so you require to have a PSN account to play their games on PC such as helldivers 2. The problem arises with the fact that many countries don't have their consoles being sold which is the only way to create a PSN account. This obviously angered many people especially those who already bought the game and Sony on a post online said they would retract the idea due to player feedback. However many had noticed that the game wasn't available anymore in a lot of countries or they actually went through with the PSN requirement. I forget which of the two but you get the picture.

what I find most laughable about the twitter thing is that everything that elon has done has made it impossible for him to make money off of it, since if you report any kind of ads, it seems like they get permanantly blocked on your end which makes it incredibly unlikely for them to get monetization, also the literal lack of moderation makes it even more likely that ads get deleted with a bot, and the 42,000 per month for the API thing is just incredibly stupid, I mean that just kills your chances of having anything besides a website. i'm fine with the whole thing, i mean elon's conversion of twitter in links to X on the mobile version just enables scams so hard, so i'm not suprised that he can't make good monetization strategies for the life of him

@thebigblox4297 It's more than that. You see the major problem is the laws and server space. All the servers and clients have to play nice with each other. Sony and other companies actually _use to_ be digitally region unlocked, the problem is that as internet laws were added and changed domestic servers obviously had to be reprogrammed to operate by them. Not only that but some nations and sovereign governments (like the EU) are notorious for forcing any entity (including individual people) to comply with their laws so long as they have a digital presence in or make digital contact with, the sovereign state in question. Trying to reconcile all this in a practical and cost-effective way without negatively impacting the end-users is for the most part, impossible. Telling people to just use a VPN would be a slap in the face to the domestic governments.
      Sorry for the Ted talk.

OKAY REAL TALK, I bet the reason corporations keep shooting themselves in the foot is shareholders.
Like, the only people with the money to buy shares would be other big companies, and so I bet the ads would be of the companies who own the shares. The ads aren't for money, they're to strengthen their brand. They don't want to make a profitable game, profit was never the point. Branding is.
    That's my headcanon.

I support ads in videogames if AND ONLY if they are diegetic and unobtrusive.
Like say, a billboard with real product placement in a game like GTA, or maybe some ad on a screen in a sports game.
    Stuff you would expect IRL.
Just shoving an un-skippable ad in your face is a horrible idea. If you are gonna do it, at least do it right.

If you wear pieces of equipment with ads on them you get a small exp booster that stacks with the ones you already bought, on top of your battlepass boost. You get a big bonus for winning and performing a sponsored victory pose but there are small bonuses for sponsored death poses as well.
