I miss when Assassin's Creed was historically accurate. Like Leonardo De Vinci making tanks and stuff for Assassins or when George Washington became a mad king and tried using the apple of Eden to conquer America. Don't forget a proto assassin facing off against a literal god.

Assasins Creed was never historically accurate. It takes historical elements and cranks it up to 11 for entertainment.
Leonardo De Vinci designed tanks and other gadgets sure, but he never actually built them. Was Leonardo De Vinci really this genius inventor ahead of his time? Not really. But its cool to use his designs in game.
Same with this. Was the black Samurai actually a real "Samurai"? Probably not. Was he a real badass person from history and would it be cool to see him being badass in game? Definitely.

My big thing about the new Assassins Creed is that they took way too damn long to go to Japan, because now that they've taken as long as they did, I have no reason to play Shadows because Ghost of Tsushima exists. Seriously, that game is just Assassins Creed but by competent developers, go play that

I agree. I've wanted AC Japan for a long time, never got it. GoT comes out, is a really good game. So I've no reason to look at AC for Japan now.
I don't agree with this. GoT does not have the parkour system from AC and its story is about as bland as it gets. It's basically a glorified Ubisoft game that's not made by Ubisoft. All I really wanted is for Shadows to be good and not be political--but of course you can't expect that from modern-day Ubisoft.

for yasuke the thing is "retainer" isn't an accurate representation of the title he had, he was a "Kosho",Kosho usually came from samurai family that's why some people think it makes him automatically a samurai, however, Kosho could become samurai if they weren't already throught service.. So we don't know for sure if he became one or not... But he could have, people being upset because "He was 100%" and because "He wasn't 100%" are both equally wrong and dumb for making such a mess about the topic

Also he was depicted as a samurai in Nioh 2 and Samurai Warriors 5 and nobody complained. I think the problem with Yasuke in Asses-greed is that he is put into a prominent role of a protagonist and it ruins some Japanese purists' immersion. In Nioh 2 he is just a npc and in SW5 he is just a playable and a side character, not playing too much of a significant role in the plot or the history of the Sengoku era as a whole, so people are ok with that.

For AC, the issue is that Ubi, as well as game journalists, state that he was one IRL and that's why he is one in game, so that makes people upset
Rayman and the Mario + Rabbids games are the only things that peaks my interests from Ubisoft, but Rayman has been in dormant since 2013 excluding the DLC in Sparks of Hope

He is recorded as fighting at Nijo with a katana. He was given a "stipend" (in this context, the world stipend was only ever used to refer to a Samruai's wages. The wages for non samurai were referred as "gifts"). He carried Nobunaga's blade, and had a blade of his own. He was a Samurai.
Was he as prolific a warrior as this game presents him as? Probably not. But he did fight on the battlefield at least once, and the rest of his story is so unknown that there's room to fill in the blanks where the devs want to.

Yasuke is a bait and switch. The true problem is pricing this game at $130 dollars, and Ubisoft can take away your ability to play the game at any time.

I wouldn't really mind if Yasuke is a samurai in AC instead of a retainer. I mean in this same game series you go back in time to relive your ancestors memmories which are somehow passed through your genes, the same series where the old Greek/Roman gods were actually the advanced people from a long time ago, this isn't a 100% historically accourate series, sometimes they play around with it a bit, like Leonardo's tanks and such, yeah he designed something similar IRL but he drew the gears backwards so that if somebody were to make it the thing would lock and be unusable.
My main issue comes from the people that go to the wiki page of an actual person in history and change it to align with their views.
Like imagine if people were to edit the wiki page of the real Pocahontas to make it align with the Disney adaptation.

Yasuke is only one of two playable characters, the other one does appear to be a classic ninja.
My issue is that they never had a character from History as the main lead at all until now, because for the past few Assassin's Creeds, we've had Fictional Characters set in eras with historical accurcy, hell my Favourite Assassins are Byek (An Ancient Egyptian) and Connor (A Half Native American, Half Englishman), both of whom I found more interesting that most of the White Main Characters, heck we already had a Female JAPANESE ASSASSIN that they could have used... but they used someone from history and gender bent another.
Also, Yasuke was a Honory Samurai, not a real Samurai, so he never really saw much leadership roles.
So yeah, my issue is that they really just didn't want to make a Japanese Assassin because they wanted brownie points and used a historical person to prop it up, but it's backfiring BADLY from the Majority of Japanese gamers, there are a Minority defending Ubisoft but a lot of those people are either Born in the West or thing Joe Biden is a "Good President".
Also it's a shit game, we all know it's going to be shit

What is a samurai and what is a retainer changed a lot in the course of Japanese history. For the time Yasuke definetely absolutely was one though, as part of the standing army of Nobunaga + being his most trusted soldier.

tbh the PS5 should of been backwards compatable from the start, XBOX's been doing it for so long it pretty much it should be expected, im guessing theyd make the PS2 games run on it Digitally instead of Disk but we'd just have to wait and see, though in my opinion id like to see them work on it for all PS3 titles.

Cleopatra's main issue is that it claimed to be a documentary which... It was more than enough for Egypt to sue them for falsifying history. AC Shadows does have the benefit of being fictional. Although having Yasuke be a side character would've likely been far more favorable to anyone to avoid backlash I think?

The thing about Ghost of Tsushima that makes it so different from helldivers is that due to pre-orders being canned for non-psn regions and Sony still restricting sales people from there can't complain on the steam reviews and people who would be angry about the whole PSN implementation would just, not buy the game. We didn't know why the Pre-orders and sales were canned on non-psn regions but now I think we know. Its to stop people from voicing their complaints and for Sony to have full authority on PSN implementation which will inevitably continue.

Retainer's can be samurai, but depending on the skill set some were, some weren't. From what few records we have, it's likely the "black samurai" was just a really loyal servant given retainer as likely a mixture of a reward, and insurance that his plans continue was planned.

Yasuke was taken to Japan as a slave, and freed by a lord, he then became the lord's retainer, retainers are more like specialized bodyguards, samurai are like the knights of japan, nobles who dress up in fancy armor and brag about their sword training, or in some cases they actually did earn the title.

Far as I know, Hell Divers 2 is still region locked, even though it no longer requires a PSN account, people in regions where it was bricked before STILL can't play it. First of all, the target isn't Charlie's himself.
Alot of people have gotten this point wrong, as the red represents the fire and blood spilled in the name of King/Queen and County.
While his uniform and background is covered in red, his face is clean and pure, representing the fact that he's a new face for the firm.
He has so much potential to change the path of what the Royal Family will be known for, to the British public.
This hope for change, and a new legacy Charlie's can forge for the Royal is symbolized with a delicate small butterfly.
Charlie's is probably one of the first Royal who has been vocal on issues like Climate Change, but it shows how even if he's serious on these issue, it shows how daunting it is to forge this new path for the firm.
The prostrate, yes, isn't the most flattering, but it's an picture of Charlie's reality.

That's the thing though it has never been about historical accuracy. This is the most implemented tactic they have used on black people for ages. The government named the black panther party a terrorist organization. It is very simple, masking the racism in what some believe to be a valid concern which would give them an argument which can later be used to influence an outsider. You know what is the funny part. This game will probably suck and the best thing about it would probably be the story.
