  • www.roaringfiregear.com/produ... The Roaring Fire Slingshot Sling Bag is a well designed, purpose-driven sling bag. Many sling bags are just single strap daypacks and preform like the afterthought they are. The Roaring Fire Slingshot Sling Bag, on the other hand, is designed from the ground up as a sling bag and has all the bells and whistles that make a sling bag sing. An oriented organization. A zipper-limited main compartment. A sling designed for a human. And a water bottle pocket to die for.
Whether you use it as a Go Bag, an EDC, a Bug Out Bag, a Murse, a Get Home Bag, or just a general purpose Sling Bag, you won't go wrong with the Roaring Fire Slingshot Sling Bag.

I just purchased the utility molle pouch and the smaller brother. I was also considering this sling pack, but I wanted to watch a review. Thank you for the insight/review of this sling. I appreciate it very much. 👍

Looks pretty well made for the market segment. In my opinion sling bags are good for applications where it will primarily ride around in a vehicle but you might have to grab it and hump it a ways. Sling bags don't really carry well as backpacks for backpacking trips but they are fine for vehicle survival kits.

When I saw the Y-strap is was about write a rant about them stealing Maxpeditions design. Then I went to their website & FB to take a look at how much gear they have copied of Maxpedition.
And actually Roaring Fire is not just a copy, they give great ideas new life. I can see that 3-4 other compagnies have been used as inspiration !

    Nice Doc!
I guess the one strap thing would take some getting used to, although being a relatively small bag means
    limited shoulder strain.
My wife a physiotherapist and would probably beg to differ though heh.
I'm a geologist and I pack light usually. However, this changes quickly with the amount of rock samples I have to carry back.
I guess for some really light excursions this could be of use to me because us geologists tend to stop frequently look around for a hammer, notebook
snack, and this bag seems really easy to take off and put on.

We did an event a few weeks ago with a lot of young people. Many had a similar, albeit non-tactical, apparatus slung around their bodies. My initial thought, nice purse.

Hi Doc! Have you looked into the variety of bags that Vanquest and Mystery Ranch have? Any reviews on those bags would be awesome. Thanks for the videos.

The dsign of the Roaring Fire is clearly stolen from Maxpedition. I've got exactly the model they copied.

I imagine there is only so much new innovation you can do with a bag. At some point everything has been done before. I have a bunch of Vanquest stuff that took elements from others and made them better. I also have way overpriced Tadgear too. I have a Vanquest laptop bag that I wasn't entirely happy with. I went another route and went with non tactical company that makes professional bags. While not perfect my Tenba bag is the closest I have found. It's been to Europe twice and beyond. I am done looking. Oh I also have a bunch of MaxP stuff but haven't used in years. Not sure why I have a pile of bags in my closet I will probably never use again. It's hard getting rid of stuff i guess.

I consider it more a case of convergent evolution. The boxy design of the Maspedition was a common Forest Service pack shape that probably came from a combination of simple manufacturing processes, and from back when the packs were made of wood and literally boxes. Under close inspection, the packs differ quickly.

Dammit, Doc. I may have to unsubscribe - your last four videos have me spending my entire paycheck before I even get it!
This is a definite purchase, as is yesterday's tote. This slingbag looks like what I use daily (purchased from a military surplus store), but was inferior quality and is falling apart already...
You may well be the most interesting man in America - screw that Dos Equis guy.
