sucks seeing CZcams channels slowly start turning their videos into subliminal adds for their products. It's like creators forget why people watch in the first place...
Yes, no one who operates a CZcams channel should ever make and demonstrate their own gear. Much better for large companies to sell us everything we want to buy, not small businesses or knowledgeable content creators.
You do know black scout survival started as a product sales company and is first and foremost. CZcams came much later. I’m not an”creator” or “influencer” but a business owner that just so happen to make CZcams videos.
@@brawndothethirstmutilator9848 Especially because people who actually practice survival will notice flaws in commercially available gear and improve upon them.
@@BlackScoutSurvival I think he was being sarcastic but it could be wrong if I'm wrong he was just being rude love your videos love what you do I need to put my money where my mouth is and buy some of your stuff
@@BlackScoutSurvival 🤣🤣🤣🤣 guessing he didn't know Jack!
Thank you for sharing this with me it's really inspired me to put together a small bug out bag I'm 72 years young so large bags is not really an option if i need to move quickly out of danger
Take care stay safe and may God bless you 🙋🏻♂️🇬🇧
Really nice set up. Have you ever thought about adding a silk sleeping bag liner to that mylar sleeping bag? The real silk ones are not that cheap, but man do they add serious warmth to that setup. When they say they add 12 to 15 degrees of warmth, they do, if not more. It makes a huge difference when using those mylar bags.
You should look into making a Black Scout silk bag liner, but a GOOD one. Use heavy silk like a 28 or 30 momme weight. That's just how many pounds a 45 inch by 100 yards bolt of silk weighs. So, 30 pounds per 100 yards is heavy duty silk and made to last and can handle real emergency shelter needs. Keep up the great work.
Personally, I like a larger bag for the smaller kit assembly to give me the flexibility of carrying the opportunistic find along the trek. The addition of a pack of lifeboat rations would be lightweight, but allow the flexibility of dealing with unexpected delays along the trek; that planned 1-2 day trek could become an unplanned week due to injuries, laying doggo from being hunted, etc.
That’s the philosophy MacGuyver had about why he carried a large, empty bag: “….it’s for what I can find along the way.”
You continually provide the best content on CZcams My whole family now carries very similar kits in thier cars with the addition of tier one first aid it has saved a couple of lives already during recent storms here in the free state of Florida I always have to thank you for your continued service Sir and now May I Have Another Sir👍
It would be nice if that bag you show. You could out together and sell for the people who need just that. Nice video... very informative! Thanks
I have the perfect bag for this. Cant wait to fill it 😂
Excellent demonstration coupled with sound counsel! I put a micro kit together more than 40 years ago at the urging of my father. And since that time I've never been without the bare essentials on any outing however seemingly benign. That fact likely saved my life twice. The first time I'd chalk up to getting myself into a predicament due to inexperience and youthful exuberance. The last time because we live in a world where things can go sideways without preview or forewarning. Great job on this video!
Liked your video. Personally I use a Haversack from Raging River. Custom built and easy to grab and go. Because I have a service dog with me, I have to use a 64oz stainless steel water bottle. Just so both of us have water.
My multi tool is a custom made Leatherman surge for bushcraft.
Energy for us is MTN OPS greens in power individual packets, with caffeine.
Attached to the bottom is a 3x3 DD Tarp. Quick basic med kit is an absolute must.
Thanks for the video
I wish the viewers would listen
carefully and pay heed to what
is said here.
Bug out/SHTF/get home isn't
about camping and bushcrafty
skills and primitive trapping and
fishing. It's about getting home
or to your safe place and not
cooking and firefights and B&E
skills. E&E your way to safety in
one piece with no extra holes.
I'm glad to see a video without
all the high speed low drag camping
and combat stuff.
This man gets it
Essential for everytime and everywhere. Like a belt with survival kit rollable. Merry Christmas Richard and good 2023.
My first bugout kit required a mule...🤣🤷♂️
I've learned that it's not a "camping" kit, but a move now bag. I do still use a 5.11 rush 24, which is too much honestly. It's what I had!
Is the only thing you had/have really too much? It's not like you have to load a larger bag all the way full. You do the best you have with what you've got. Way too much can turn into not enough pretty quick in some situations.
@@crw4372 it's a figue of speech. The excess room can be used to gather supplies along the way.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Same to you!
Been following you for a while. Over time you release more and greater content, great stuff Jack. I really enjoy your gear line (looking to get more stuff soon). God Bless and best of luck.
Everyone prepares, but they call you crazy if you prepare for the big things as well as the little.
I have my Winter (snow) prepare kit I keep in my car. 0° sleeping bag, rock salt, cat litter, window deicer, Halo power supply. Where I live you may or may not have cell service to call for help, so if I have to wait on help I'm going to be comfortable.
You read my mind brother. I've been downsizing... putting together a small edc/BOB in a Haversack is on my list for this week. Getting older, bag weight matters. Thanks
Hi Jack you ever thought about making these ready- made and offer them for sale ?
Great info as always! Quick inexpensive go bag to address your basic needs. Your location will dictate what else you may want to add to aid in your goal obviously urban situations are different than people who live out in the north forty. For all the people complaining about what about this or that you can set up caches along your route to help with other items. Thanks BSS. Be well and stay safe!🙏
Many women cannot carry the full backpack bugout bag. This is perfect
Good kit, solid reasoning for items. And the kit et al. Just getting from point A to point B.
Great kit for a get out of dodge kit and the style camping I do thanks for posting
Good stuff Jack, I made a similar kit the centerline systems canteen carrier is perfect for ir
I like the idea of a small kit like that. Thanks for the upload!
Love it! I made a simular set up with the Helikon Tex essentials bag. Awesome!!!!
Great information as always. Thank you 😊. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Add a mora knife, small first aid kit, envelope of cash.
I'm not sure if cash will be King during SHTF, however, you are right! I've got Constitutional silver in my bag, {heavy yes} extra mags & my IFAK. I'd add more food, because it's going to take me a few days to go 400 miles, and right now, THAT'S the only plan I've got...
I keep cash in my wallet. And gold and silver bouillon in my concealment belt that’s on me at all times.
A hack saw blade and some electrical tape are always very Handy, put strips of tape on the tooth side to keep from chaffing bag and contents, I recommend a non black color electric tape as the colors glue does leave sticky black residue everywhere.
Really glad you did this video. Really enjoy your shorts .
Thankyou for the information, Jack! Very much appreciated 🎄🎄🎄
Very simple and yet very practical amazing concept Jacks
Wrap some gorilla tape on the bic.
Cheap snap blade razor knife.
A few hard candies, no nutrients but some calories, and good for moral, never expires.
200 lb test Kevlar string, very compact, great for snares, shelter, trip wires, big fish!
I wouldn't really plan on cooking much with a go bag that size, just use some gel energy packs like the bicycle people eat during a race. Or go without eating for a few days, our ancestors did it all the time during hunts, and exploration.
Nice set up,.. I would just throw a single charge battery bank in addition to that kit
God Bless and Merry Christmas
I like it. Point A to point B. Always here a plan.
Supposedly your EDC covers the cutting tools and edge sharpening and weaponry... Good kit
I have a 511 rush moab sling bag that would be perfect for this!
Nice! Did you get the 6 or 10? I just picked up the rapid sling 10L
@@jonathancamps9853 I went with the 6..Its what I bring and keep with me on my forklift..its not so big to draw attention so it's just right
Mike Bryant, That looks like a nice bag. I just don’t like slings. I keep a small kit in a Rush 12. Basically my EDC bag. My sleep system can attach to the bottom and a tool pouch to the side then it’s my Get Home Bag. 5.11 bags will last for ages of hard use.
Great Kit, great video..ty Jack 👍
Nice kit, one thing i always wondered, do you start with the canteen full of water, I always do that as in the desert it might be a while before i find water but water is also a bit heavy.
Awesome videos, great info , I always keep one in my truck , and one for the house
Great setup, keep up the great work.
This kit is similar enough to my kits so that I don’t need to go into any more detail than to add a quality fixed-blade knife that must be accessible at all times. I wear camo coveralls a lot, so I accordingly carry a strap to keep the aforementioned blade accessible. But, in the name of efficiency, I have a kit for the truck; a kit for big-game; a kit for small game; and a kit for just walking around with the possibility of running an errand. And I carry lined fishhooks in my wallet (along with other things) so I’m as fully prepared as I possibly can be. A merry Christmas to you all, and may the Lord be enjoyed by you, and may He enjoy you!
Great little kit!
I like adding nutritional flavor packs to treated water. You’re right, it tastes nasty. I have the GCC, BSS flashlight and your survival kit. The only thing I would add is a small saw.
Nice little kit you have built.
Good kit. It would be handy. I have a bug out bag I take everywhere I go but a smaller kit would be good idea. May have to move fast.
@aDrive... haha
Need a small zip-lock bag of GORP, maybe with some MMs mixed in the GORP to lift your spirits a tad
Thanks, Jack!
Great mean and lean kit
I urge those that may not be experienced in fire making to check out Paul Harrell's channel specifically his last episode on fire making. Covers the ins and outs and reasons for redundancy.
Nice video Jack! 👍
Great idea, I have something similar. Always wondered why some think they need a huge BOB to get somewhere fast
Because bad things happen fast, so a larger BOB gives you a lot more possibilities, especially more food and water. My lady can walk (with crutches) but not carry more than maybe 10-15 pounds (depending on terrain), and if you figure about 10 pounds for a filled 1-quart canteen, with metal cup and fire kit, a good poncho, maybe a snack, that's it for her! As her man, I will happily carry more to help keep the burden of her! If you're bugging out to a BOL, for example, and when you get there, it is no longer viable, whether from damage, others occupying it, whatever, that larger BOB will help get you to the next BOL, which hopefully you already has preplanned and stocked!
Quality kit!! I'd just replace the Leatherman with a Victorinox Swisstool, but that's a personal preference.
That's a great idea. It's not as bulky as a bug out bag.
Love your short vids, too
Keep it going brother
Water food and tools...good stuff.
great kit. I got the green blanket from you. But I have not opened it , because I won't know how to fold it back up. I would have to video or photograph the steps and practice unfolding a couple folds at a time. May still mess it up
That looks like a handy little kit
Outstanding kit. With that said, you're missing a minimal 1st Aid kit.
Got this covered, need one more kid for my car.
I'll take 2! Surprised the BSS-5 didn't make the kit.
Would it be smart to use a bushcraft set up and 72 hour set up and blend together for a sustainment load?
Nice kit. Does it have room to winterize it? Also, what canteen pack is that?
Jack I built one of these for my work truck awhile back just for my work truck…I dont work outside the county very often and made it to get home in a few hours to a day or so…
What canteen pouch were you using in the video? I want one.
Go small if you can is the best idea! I would add more food packets, and ammo. Lots of ammo... Also my IFAK.
Love the kit do you ship out of the us?
Grabby bag 👍 keep it by your door.
The same company that makes your bivy bag, also makes one in OD green. Forgive me if I missed it, but do you have any cordage? Sawyer mini water filter is smaller and more versatile. Just my thoughts anyway.
I guess leerning about sun dials can help determine time without a watch. To purify water.
Would a 15ltr messanger bag also work in this setup?
How well does the titanium mess kit work?
I love this type of video
I have a dpm British army gas mask bag I'm nothing with I think I'm gonna make it into a light weight kit like this. Good thing is it has a haversack carry strap and belt attachment I use with a military belt it hangs like a butt pack👌
I like these type of kits Jack ....sometimes you can't carry a 65L bag you gotta move .... cheers man
Absolutely brother
@@BlackScoutSurvival looking at the BlackScout Canteen Setup on the Website killer deal for titanium....I may need to splurge ....happy holidays!
Thank goodness there was no fuel tab stove. Those are a joke when you live at elevation
Awesome pack I wish I could afford something like that too. I think you'll get a lot of resources for it.🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
You have the mug with the canteen, ditch the pan you don't need it for short term carry
What's your opinion on a camel pack in a bug out bag? I know it's that $hitty plastic but a stainless bottle on the go isn't exactly ideal .. Thoughts & opinions please Jack & The Tribe?
Good kit
.. total weight of this gear -(in comparison to your body weight)?? Also, what about that shoe polish tin fire can - could be a useful addition..!?! Thanks!
Jack, do you sell the micro bug out kit as a whole?
Do you offer this all loaded up like you have it
Nice compact pack. 👍
I have a similar bag, I carry a couple emergency water packets along with the filter/tablets so I can stay hydrated until I find water. They are small and don't take up much room.
I used to carry those as well, but dropped them for a couple regular 20oz. bottles of water. They were less than 5oz. of water each, and once opened, I didn't see any use for the packets. With a water bottle, I have a REAL useable amount of water that I can dump in my canteen, and then refill the bottles when I find a water source, and have around 72 ounces of water. Plus, I know I would NEVER open those small packets of water for rotation, but bottled water.....pffff, that's nothing to rotate as often as you want, for little cost compared to those packets of water.
The only reason I didn't use the bottles was space limitations, but otherwise I agree with you.
@@tahoeblaze7023 If space is a problem now, those limitations aren't going away when you eventually find water, unless you find the VERY rare compact water somewhere...lol Seriously though, only ONCE have I ever ran out of water, and it was almost a full day of hiking in the heat without water until I found some....NEVER AGAIN will I make that mistake. Then again, you might be surrounded by water and it's not an issue. You know what's best for you.
I carry the collapsible water bottles that can be secured to the pack when deployed. The water packs are just for emergency incase I don't find water right away. I agree with you and understand what you are saying. 👍
What is this?! A bugout kit for ants?!
Terrific 😍👍 I'd like to see a reflector blanket as all of the apocalypse movies I have watched they hunt survivors with thermal imaging! They also Use Gas or smoke to kill them off inside of dwellings so a gas mask of some sort?
I this kit I can put something like this together and keep it simple.
Got anything for solar coronal mass ejections gearing up for solar mininova next year in tandem with geomagnetic pole shift, followed by abrupt global crustal displacement and boiling rains and oceans with 200' tidal waves preceding 700' muddy flood waters until the polar ice caps refreeze in their new locations, all forecast in space weather news from Suspicious Observers, Wages World, The Real BP Earthwatch, MaverickStar, MRBBB333, and others?
On that note go check out "bright insight" latest upload. Its on atlantis, and where they think it most likely was. The area is surrounded by evidence of massive flood waters rushing through the whole area around 1100-1300 years ago. Most likely this is the last time this event happend. The oceans are heating up a lot!!
The same people that gripe about this being expensive are the same ones that pay 300$ for air pod ear buds… bet. Just that canteen set alone at SRO Canterbury are 45-50$
So it’s a micro bug out bag sponsored by BSS. Better than mine, I don’t have one at all. So nice!
what watch are you wearing
Excellent video! Thank you!👍😊🙏🏻✝️🇺🇸
Where u get kit
Anyone know the name of the backpack please I really want to get it. I can’t find it anywhere or the name of it.
Your BBSv4 flashlight was used and abused on Puerto Rico during Huracán Fiona last September. IT WAS GREAT.
Awesome to hear 💪💪
Nice, lightweight kit Jack. Being mobile as possible in a SHTF situation is key in humble opinion.
I like these more compact type kits. I recently put together a small urban grab bag that lives in my EDC/gym backpack. Gonna add a couple more fire and water filtration options to it.
I agree w your humble opinion 💪🏻💪🏻
@@landscapingspecialist 😁 Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
Couldn't find that in the store
Well done Jack and a little something for the haters saying “you don’t do anything on survival anymore”. We should all know this but for something the left can’t understand. God bless and Merry Christmas y’all!!!👍🏼🍻👊🏼💯😁
I love your content
