You know, the local university/ colleges have great events from sports (obviously), to plays, art shows and orchestra concerts & concertos. All college events are usually very affordable, from donations to ($5- $20 depends on event/ size of production). Best to plan a few days in advance though.

When the rare moments of kid free time occurs, I always plan to work on my hobbies, give myself a mani/pedi, or organize my house, but I always end up taking a nap.

I am a childfree adult, following because you are hilarious and the recipes, and all I can say is we do basically, this. I am always drawing something, working out, or some random chore I have been ignoring. When my 25 year old stepson stayed with us a couple of months, it bent my whole reality.

My daughter left home a couple, or so, years back. But my 22 year old son is still here. He doesn’t like my music being up loud. So as soon as he hits the doorstep my music goes on full blast. Just like I did when they were little. Then I’ll either cook up a meal, go hammocking in the garden on a nice day, or read a book, uninterrupted. Freaking bliss.
Totally relatable! Homeschooled my teens for a year and then they decided to go back to school. I work from home, but now my house feels empty when they're at school.

I was so stoked when I sent my kid off to 1st grade this year. I had all the floors swept/mopped and the house dusted by 8:30am because I thought I'd be super mom this year. I sat down and made a daily cleaning checklist. So...that all went out the window as soon as my kid arrived home and my house returned to its normal state of functioning chaos. We're all fine with this and I've even taken a few naps 😊
The minute our girl was in school more than 3 hours, I knew EXACTLY what to do...I caught up on my sleep 😂! 😴😴😴 Hubby was so glad to come in from a project and find me napping at 12:30. I hadn't had more than about an hour of sleep at a time in like 4 years at the time. She was just sooo daayyammmnn active ALL THE TIME 😳.

As a childfree adult, I can confirm that the whipped cream straight into the mouth is a thing I do. Also, since I don't have to share, eating Nutella, peanut butter, and Cool Whip straight from the container is also a thing.

Man, my son started kindergarten 3 weeks ago and the entire first week I was a mess. I went from scared to worried, to tired, to anxious, to depressed, to Counting down the time until I could pick him up. And that was just the first 10 minutes or so! Last week I actually fell asleep and my first reaction was exactly what you did- I jumped up to check on him. After week 3 I'm a bit better and leaning hour to budget my time better and I'm figuring out who I am as a person, not just as a mom. I will say that our patenting styles are very similar. Your videos remind me that it's OK to parent in a way that works for us, and not to worry about how anyone else thinks I should parent. He's mine. I do know what works for him and what doesn't. It's maybe unconventional, but my little guy is a good kid. Thank you for being a voice for the parents who accept the weird and appreciate the crazy.

Lol accurate. I finally figure out something fun right before they return and don't get to do it. Takes me that long to discombobulate my parent brain and realize I'm a human in and of myself and have my own personality and likes.
Yup, the quiet is hard, but the screaming is worse.
Now that we have a quiet house, my husband and I are always so calm, and we can focus on us. Its a huge improvement.

I was wondering why it felt so odd a question to answer. It's because I had to keep busy with chores and stuff.
My husbands aunt has our daughter for a week while we figure out some things at home after my husband came home from surgery. Today is day 3. I found her stuffed bear she calls Lala in our bed last night and I cried and cuddled with it. This is the longest we’ve been without her! We FaceTimed her tonight and she cried and we cried. It was the most heart breaking thing to see your little one miss you. The original plan was to pick her up on Saturday. Can’t wait. I’m leaving in the morning to get her. Can’t believe I saw this video because an hour ago I was bawling my eyes out after we hung up the phone and then I saw this. Brought a little bit of comfort to me. And also it felt good to laugh and something so relatable.❤️
When my youngest brother started kindergarten, he was very worried about what our mom would do when he was in school (this brother was the youngest of 8, and I was the oldest, starting my junior year of college). I told him not to worry, that mom had been a mom for a long time, and she would find something to keep herself busy. Besides, it was a half day kindergarten, and he would be home by lunchtime.
This is me!!! I was kid free all last weekend.....and then the biggest crisis in life happened lol my phone stopped working like fully blank screen....... i literally sat in silence on the couch staring at the black tv screen......and realized i dont even know of a current TV show lol then went on the old desktop computer and stared at amazon wish shopping for like 2 straight days lol such a total waste of life but i dont even really regret it. LOL then I had an existential crisis when i started realized in a couple short years both my kids will be grown and leaving me forever then i cried uncontrollably lol. great weekend alone all n all.......#Motherhood
I rarely have even a single day when I don’t have my son and my boyfriend is gone too. And this is really accurate. On those rare times when it’s just me at home I have no idea how to function. I remember when my son was still a toddler and if he stayed at my parents I’d find myself watch paw patrol or bubble guppies and then I’d finally realize I’m an adult and I can watch something else.
The moment you realize no one cares that your napping.... priceless
Yesterday was my first day having both kids at full day school and it was a lot like this video. I'm so glad I finally found this channel today. My youngest just started kindergarten this year. The first day I walked around my house naked. It was amazing. I decided before she went that I would take that time for me and my interests. I'm getting back into dancing, I'm redoing my house and it's so much easier and faster when I don't have to stop every five minutes to get a drink or food. I'm working on putting myself out there on social media more and working on music and art more. The other day, I fell asleep after painting a wall and woke up in a panic thinking "S*it where's my youngest?!" Then remember she was at school and the alarm to get them hadn't gone off yet and I fell my happy a** right back to sleep. I didn't think sleep existed anymore. Anyways loved this video. Cheers🥂❤🌹🌸🏵

Kid free means ordering Chinese and watching the shows/movies you can't when they're around. It also includes pulling out the secret candy stash, and perhaps a nice, long, uninterrupted bath. And, of course, keeping the phone next to you at all times for the inevitable call and/or text from them, because if you don't answer, they're sure you're either: A. In the ER or B. Off to some amazing event and having fun without them.

I felt that way when I first became a SAHM. WHAT TO DO?! Now that my oldest is a Sophomore and no longer home schooled I'm very practiced! 🤣 I LOVE my alone time. Now that a have a 3mo I spend it napping though. 😜

Some ideas : 1. Close all drapes and lock all doors just in case you want to run around with it all hanging out. nap all day cuz I am worn out. Bubbly bath and facial treatments. Twilight saga marathon or other favorite movies harry potter, hunger games ,thornbirds, North and South , reruns of jerry springer. Chose wisely you don't want to be caught in the middle and not be able to see your shows to the end. Order grub hub for yourself ie anything you like that groses them out, like sushi, frog legs and chicken gizzards, and place a order for them, to be delivered whenever they are going to be back cuz they will be soooo hungry when they return. It's a good chance you will forget about the time. Set a timer for 15 minutes before they get back so you can be dressed and make it look like you did something while they were gone. Fluff pillows hide snacks and grub hub bags. If you do indulge in a few glasses of wine hide the evidence. You never know when you will get this chance again.
When I'm kid free, I just sit next to the bin of socks that need to be sorted (that I keep telling my husband I can sort once I'm kid free) and scroll Pinterest, Instagram, and CZcams.

Ok, we could think of way better things than that. My kids are adults now and with just 1 left home full time. My boyfriends adult son still comes over every other week for a week. I quite often find my self kidless now a days. Often boyfriendless when he leaves weekday evenings to play softball. I am never bored without them lol
That was fun, but when you started singing with the little guitar, you startled my cat, who was napping on the arm of the couch. She fell off, ran over to the desk, jumped up, and stood there glaring at you on my screen.
I live in effectively a 3-parent household. Mommy (10hr shifts 4 days a week), Daddy (8-hour shifts on weekend nights, effectively SAHP), and Uncle (mommy and daddy's best friend, works 48 hours Friday-Monday morning) There are only 2 days a month where all 3 of us are working and/or sleeping. Uncle takes the kids once a week to the big city. Uncles mom, Granny, will take the kids 1-2× a month on an adventure. For me, it's weirder being home with them WITHOUT another adult.

This is me when the kids are in the living room and I have the bedroom to myself I just chill cause I don't have to run every sec or share something with someone eat my own snacks watch my own shows last for 2-3hrs but best 3hrs plus my daughter will sit at the door until I let her in tired of being around the boys 😆 so sometime it's just me and my 2 yearold watching shows lol
Having an autistic son limits our child-free time due to needing a qualified carer. Before kids, I hiked mountains, kept my place tidy, shopped at the farmers market, grabbed sushi with friends…now I live on the opposite coast and have none of that available so my kid free time is spent studying (nursing school) or procrastinating chores I hate doing. And hubby isn’t much different lol
