Im glad you brought up elevators!!! Its a good reminder to use the stairs when you can!! And use elevator etiquette!! Always let passengers off first before you barge on!!! Especially those with mobility issues!!! Thats my PSA for today!!

Great advice. I always tip my steward well and my favorite bartenders and then maybe someone who was extra nice. They do work hard for little money and always go the extra mile to show their appreciation!

Before I want on my first cruise I did a lot research on the ship I was going on the layout of the ship and the places we're going sail too.
Excellent !!! Smart to do your due diligence & homework to make sure your cruise was the best it could be !!!

I worked on a cruise ship. I was in a tiny room with 3 other guys. It was hard at times! It's a crazy lifestyle.
Very cool!! We give you a lot of props!!! On behalf of all the cruisers in the world, thank you for making our vacations wonderful. The staff always works so hard and at multiple jobs. It must be both exhausting, rewarding and fun all rolled into one!!!
Always be nice to the crew. They know the nightlife spots on the islands. Surprisingly they will renenber you too. Met a lovely young lady on RC Enchantment of the Seas in Oct 2011 and heard my name being called on RC Allure in July 2012 and it was the same lady Ms. Cindee.
You are so right !!! They ARE the backbone of the ship. We've had the same experience with several crew members remembering us 1-2 yrs later.....and even remembering the names of our friends who were with us years ago ! They are amazing !

We agree Kim. It's sad that we have to say don't be rude to the crew as one of our top 10's but we have seen, to often, people treating the crew like there personal slaves.
Hi! I just found your channel- have really been enjoying watching you both and hearing all your tips! My family and I have cruised 2x, both on NCL. Although we've really enjoyed the experience, I wanted to ask if you'd consider making a video on the different 'experiences' offered at the various cruise lines. For ex- NCL is known for their 'free style dining' where there isn't a specific dining room/time assigned to each guest. However, I think that we've missed on some great experiences bc I've heard other people talk about 'chocolate bar night' 'captain's night' etc. I'm wondering if it's time for us to try a different cruise line so we can enjoy those types of experiences. Thanks in advance for your advice- looking forward to more videos.

THANK YOU for commenting about courtesy toward crew. I refuse to cruise with some of my "friends" (friends of friends, really) as they treat restaurant staff like servants. FIRM PASS! Cruise crew are so hardworking and generally the sweetest people ever.

I actually liked the specialty restaurant, one day they had a set price which is great for a family of 6! 😁
The staff is usually wonderful and willing to help any way they can.

Sure...we'll try to get it on the November schedule.
Getting on ship can be a lot to figure baggage drop off and tipping the porter a dollar a bag.... But. Try to reduce your carry on bag to your sun screen charger cord and wallet with passport and license for I D...... They make up your ship. I'd card...and your done all set...took about 20 minutes tops....travel light when boarding ship but remember your bags will arrive to your room later...now set your time to vacation time and go enjoy...get started with a celebration drink.....just use your new ship card....👍

I am ex-crew member i worked for Princess cruises for 5 years Well ,what i am going to say we had our ways with rude passengers we were able to turn their vacation into a nightmare.I never did it but i have heard few stories.....
We hate nasty passengers !! The crew handles them so well !!
I usually don't do wrong things on a cruise ship but I went to the munster drill and got my card swiped on the NCL Epic and had a drink with me and no one said anything but it was at a restaurant. I only had it since the drinks were paid for and I will watch that next time. It would of been funny if they said no drinks and I would of chugged it right there lol.
A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do !! LOL
It just kinda surprised me that there was no drinks at the munster drill when some people been drinking for hours lol.

Not always Kylie. That practice seems to have gone to the wayside, as a lot of cruise lines no longer have the life jackets in the cruise cabins...but actually at the life boat stations.

No we will not be on that cruise. We never sailed on the NCL Epic so we really don't have an opinion of her. Sorry.
I have no problem with people missing free shows if they don't want to attend. My peeve is the people who come to the show and walk out in the middle. That is so rude. C'mon people where are you going? You can sit still for an hour and watch a show?
Totally agree 100 % !!! I hate when people walk in late, after the show starts, in the dark and expect people to jump out of their seats to let them slide through and THEN do the same thing, before the show even ends !!
Other show pet peeve: before each show, VERY clear announcements were made that children should not be sitting in the first two or three rows for their own safety and the safety of the performers. Every. Single. Show. Kids in the front few rows. To their credit, most of the kids were great and didn't cause any issues. At one of the shows, however, a kid was being noisy and distracting, so the performer (in a very professional way) basically told the kid to sit down, shut up, and go back and sit with his parent...who was sitting at least 20 rows behind the kid!!! Craziness! I believe the kid may have been sitting with extended family, but still.
Sailing NCL Sky in October.
1) Are the specialty restaurants open very late? I can’t make reservations on the app yet. Too early.
2) No shows listed yet. Don’t you have to reserve those, and can’t I do it way ahead of time on the app?
3) Who the hell takes a cruise and doesn’t know the dining options!? Those are some really stupid people we’re talking about here.
1) It depends on the specialty restaurant as to the hours. Most will do the last seating around 9 I believe. You won't be able to book reservations until at least 120 days prior to sailing and that will depend upon your status with the cruise line. Platinum Plus and above can book 120 days prior and Platinum and below can book 90 days prior to sailing.
2) You are sailing on NCL Sky. It is a smaller ship and does NOT require show reservations normally. If they are requiring them because of COVID then you will have to wait as they will become available to book with the same time frame as the above mentioned specialty restaurants.
3) To each his own I suppose.

.......different tips vary from cruise line to cruise line....but biggest take away is do not over pack.....could wear same shorts and t all week and no one would notice.....or care....just Set your time to vacation time and have some fun.....
What kind of card for muster drill?
your sail and sign card. Or Sea Pass. It is the card you get when you get on the ship.

The cruise line gives you a card on embarkation day (the day you board), It is used as your room key, identification and to access your onboard spending account. You need to keep it with you at all times!!! Frank and I will do a video on the sail and sign card so we can explain it more.
