a few weeks ago, 7 of us local knitters drove over 3 hrs to the Adk Wool & Arts fest in Greenwich, NY [formerly the southern Adk sheep & wool], which is similar in size to Vt S & W--but you had more interesting food [no apple cider donuts at Greenwich this year--shocking!], but we had a few very interesting distillers , and of course tons of beautiful yarn. G'wich is much closer for us than Rhinebeck, and we like the more manageable size. yes, knitting/wool festivals are so good!
also, your vest is excellent--i admit i was skeptical abt the colors all combined, but the 'painting' thing works so well!

I am so happy you three met. I watch all 3 podcasts, although I am a bit behind these days, and you are all wonderful knitters. Your vest is so sweet. As for intarsia, Suzanne Bryan has some good tutorials. I discovered them while working on my TKGA Masters which has a challenging intarsia assignment. Happy knitting!

The vest is great! I love the ‘painting’ of the vest, it looks really neat and like a watercolour. The gifts you each received and gave are very thoughtful and so suited to the person. Thank you for sharing your clean and jerk pics. It’s great to see women who are strong! And can knit too! Fantastic combination.

Oly lifting is exciting! I legit noticed calloused hands from lifting in a previous video but didn’t want to assume you actually lifted weights. She knits and lifts just like me 😊
I try to keep my hands presentable for the videos but you know how it is sometimes! I wonder how many other lifting knitters are out there, I think Marce from Hey Brownberry has posted on IG about lifting too 🥰
Mel, your vlogs are consistently packed with so so much good stuff! Loved the footage of getting ready, then with Selma and Megha at the cozy home and festival, and then That Vest! Styled to perfection and inspiring me to root through my stash for combinations that might become a similar painterly piece. (Btw, I wrote “That Best!” Instead of Vest…seems correct 😂🧶) Happy to see your other projects come to life - all the given, received and purchased skeins are gorgeous!

Western MA. has the Fiber Festival of New England at the Eastern States Exposition Nov. 4,5 it’s a really nice festival.
Ooo, I did see this on the calendar and I’ve never been to it… maybe this will be the year? Not like I need more yarn though, that’s for sure 😂

I loved seeing your lifts! That was my favorite part of going to gym when I went there was the Olympic lifts. The vest turned out wicked 👌🏻 I love your idea behind it with painting colours, plus the colour choices were beautiful. Always love seeing you! 🤗

I really enjoyed that you included little bits of your life in this like the weightlifting. It's not something I would have known beyond your passing mention and it's super cool to see you using your body in that way to achieve something you enjoy, in the same way it's cool to watch you using it to dye yarn. And that house you guys shared ❤❤

Massachusetts ya! I’m wondering if you have a favorite LYS? I’m in wilmington. I hear about great LYSs in western mass but not so much in the Boston suburbs.
Hey neighbor! I’m just north of Worcester so we’re sort of in the same boat. For workhorse yarns I’ve been going to Another Yarn in Burlington, but I agree there’s no-one stop LYS around here. I did make the trek to Circle of Stitches in Salem for the Harrisville yarn and it was amazing, but getting there was a huuuuuge pain. Have you been to WEBS in person?
No wonder your upper body has so much muscle. I actually saw someone wearing a and knit pullover sweater today. It was cute and well loved, worn a lot.
