She did good, but she was dropped into the Olympics of actors, and you just can’t beat Rachel M. I still appreciate that B. showed up and did a respectable job. Nothing to be ashamed of.
She did pretty good for a green, non-trained-actress. But yes, McAdams was clearly way beyond.. And she’s also an actual actress 🤷♂️

She was playing a sweater version of the character, she did amazing is just that she was running against Rachel McAdams.

What was so positively shocking about this is that the media always painted her out to be this HORRIBLE actress and she even won numerous razzies (most likely due to the bad press she was receiving), so this proves that she isn't bad, especially for an untrained actress and that the media overreacted regarding her acting abilities
She's just so talented. I didn't know that she can act lol.
By the way, you had such good observations about her acting skills, strength and weakness at the same time. Because let's be honest, we have both of them.
She started off acting as a kid with Disney. Sometimes when you grow up, you become more self-conscious I think that’s what happened to Brit.

Britney didn't do a bad job at all. But I feel like she rushed through her lines.
Even though it was just the audition, I just saw Britney reading the lines... not Allie. She didn't transform into the character, in my opinion.
Britney is a good actress but Rachel is a full time actress, that isnt known for anything but acting.. rachel is best but britney still made me cry
Don’t agree with the lip thing.. Rachel did it several times in her audition. I think you’re nitpicking. I’m not a Britany fan however I do think she did great for someone with no training.
Thanks for the comment! You are correct in saying that Rachel also does a lip thing. Watch them both back again and you’ll notice Britney’s is an actor thing and Rachel’s is a character thing that happens in the moment. Also I would agree, most people could not have accomplished what Britney was able to.
Rachel McAdams had a really good reader.
They had the same reader, Ryan Gosling.
You are comparing Rachel who got the role and her character to Britneys acting. I don't think it's right cause they are different persons. Britney couldn't act like her she did her own way. People are licking their lips and look away.. It's a natural things to do. And she wasn't partial there she was fully there right from the start and ending shows how she come out from the role she was playing. Yes maybe she didn't know that she should continue to stop but that doesn't mean anything..
She did a great job as did Rachel.
And you have to note big points: 1) Rachel was an actress with filming experience 2) Taking Britney was too risky. She was loved but mostly she was the most hated person at that time. And movie makers could easily be scared of that.
again they both were great with their own narrative of character
If you watch both auditions, I think it clear that it is really unfair as Rachel had the other part interacting with her, prompting her more natural emotional responses while Britney played the role on her own, simply making some silence where the male part speaks and then speak again... I truly believe that Britney would've made a much better job if she had had those same conditions
I think also shes rushing it, your leaving that out. Rachel took her time with the scene. Britney is very self conscious where Rachel seemed present

I get your points but considering her limited acting career I think she did amazing here and if she were given more training I think she can be phenomenal. I do love Rachel Mcadams though. To me she's the greatest actress in Hollywood.

Please do more audition tape reviews maybe in more detail. I work in the industry but not as an actor. However I want to become an actor and I’m grateful for being able to work around very successful actors and seeing what makes them tick but these videos are helpful and would like to see more even more detailed critique! Read an article: "Scarlett Johansson, Claire Danes, Kate Bosworth, Amy Adams, Jamie King and Mandy Moore auditioned for this role. Britney beat out all of them." So yeah, Rachel beat them all, after all.
A few things about this she is definitely not an actress first but I think a lot of these things like breaking before she really needs to and stuff like that also comes from one obviously not experience with not being an actor in that way but also partially in with doing music videos and Performing they have different breaks and cuts so I think by default since that is her realm she defaults to that we also have to remember that Rachel McAdams While She Was Made for This role clearly she is obviously an actor first and foremost so you would expect there to be a far higher level of perfection compared to Britney Spears however I dare say if Rachel McAdams had to go to try to be a singer and the dancer it would be far worse off than the other way around I'm not saying the actin is easy but I do feel like you can be a bad actor and you can get better more so than you just happen to have the vocal capabilities and whatnot to be a singer into the same extent a dancer Rachel McAdams Talent she's obviously a better actor it is her main job after all so I wouldn't expect that I would compare Britney Spears more to somebody like Jennifer Lopez I think would be even more fair because she does kind of both but that would be a better comparison or somebody that is a newer actor just breaking into the business that's only has a few movies under their belt a handful of a really good movies already but either way this is far better than I expected Britney Spears to do

I have an acting degree and I don't see Britney doing a "bad" job here. You have to remember that we're seeing her read with another person, but the other person's voice and reactions have been deleted and just not seen/heard by us at all. I can see the moments that you refer to as non-specific (and I understand why you're pointing them out as such -- the looking around and pausing, etc.), but to me those moments don't signal "fluff I'm acting emotional here/not really playing actions" so much as they signal that she's possibly waiting/listening for the reader's response. It really depends what was going on with the other person (which we cannot see), so we can really only judge as to whether she's fighting to get somewhere, and I can see objective from what she's doing.
well this scene is actually a monologue so no one is reading with her… but still I think she did a reasonably good job

*This video would've been much better if you had spent more time talking about the positives of Britney Spears' performance (because there were some good stuff there) instead of constanly bringing up Rachel McAdams for the hundreth time. All you did was talk about the cons, but not enough about the pros. Her performance is not as bad as you're making it out to be.*

@@alexandervelez9507 Crossroads did okay at the box office, not so much respectively. Just being in a film doesn’t make Britney an actress, especially if she’s auditioning for a Cassavetes project
