Very clear and concise explanation without waffling on and telling us his life story, well done Kevin.
One of the best tutorials I have seen. You answered all of the questions that I had. Okay I going to try this, after viewing the film I am certain I will not have my problems. Thanks
I think that this might just be the very best tutorial video I have ever seen. Kevin, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Thank you Kevin for your clear instructions and step-by-steps. You made me feel confident I could do this and I accomplished the task. Your tutorial made it a breeze. My only critique (and this was my fault) was when you transferred files of course (as a demo) it went by very quickly. My files with lots of pictures and videos took almost two hours. Good spokesman!

Awesome! Thanks for the comment. We're glad to see our video was helpful.
Great video! This method comes in handy when you definitely have an older computer that you want to transfer key information to your new computer before wiping the old machine clean. 😊
Great tutorial - very clear and easy to follow.
you can also use a portble hdd, not as fast probably but yeah, transfer to hdd then from hdd to other laptop
Thanks for reaching out to us. iTunes music files can be transferred over like other files, and should be in your music folder. If you have playlists, they must be exported before they can be transferred. Click File > Library > Export Playlist to export. Click here to view some official information from Apple: support.apple.com/guide/itunes/save-a-copy-of-your-playlists-itns2998/12.9/windows/10. We hope this helps!
Don't want to put down this guys product, but it's fairly simple to transfer your files over a network these days!!
This guy couldn't have been any clearer on his explanation. Well done!
does a simpler cable exists that lets me simply view the second computer on my first computer as if it was an Android phone or any Normal usb stick
This does not clone your old hard drive. All programs will be needed to installed on the new PC. This only transfers files.
TOTALLYYYYYYY NOT LIKE THEY SAID “How to transfer files”. Look at the title before commenting.
Bro I have gta v crack I want share it with my brothers laptop how can I transfer that with male to male cable
Your teaching style is great.. Thanks. 🌹
Thank you, Kevin, you are a wonderful teacher. I wish you could do every instruction video on youtube. Of course, you would never get home.
Thanks for reaching out to us about this, and for the kind words. That could be fun, but quite busy. It was really fun to put this video together, and we're glad that you liked it!
What if old computer is running windows 8 and new one is running 10 will it still transfer
Thank you for reaching out to us! Yes, you can transfer data from Windows 8 to Windows 10. The Bravura Easy Computer Sync software will work with Windows XP through Windows 11. If you have any other questions e-mail us directly via support@plugable.com
@@Plugable can I use the same CD to install the software for both computers?
@@newlevelgamer5879 Yes. You can use the same disc, cable, and Product Key on both computers. But, if possible, we would suggest to download the latest version of the software from our driver page: plugable.com/pages/usb-easy-transfer-cable-software. This version of the software is newer than the one on the disc, and improves connection and stability!
Wow thanks so much for being so clear. Iam 62 & dont understand much but you make it easy. Thanks
We're glad to see that was helpful for you. Please let us know if anything comes up, and we'll be here to help you!
Can I transfer each file one by one so that I can make sure each thing works?
Your instructional demonstration was most excellent...clear, concise, thorough and fully informative...leaving no guess-work or confusion The best youtube instruction yet! Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback! We're really glad to see that our video was helpful for you. Feel free to reach out to us directly at: plugable.com/pages/support/ if you need any help!
Excellent presentation. I decided to order the cable. Thank you for the clear and detailed explanation.
Thanks for reaching out to us about this! Awesome! We're glad to see our video was helpful, and are sure you'll get a lot of good use from the Transfer Cable.
Thanks for reaching out to us about this! Unfortunately not. User profiles, settings, passwords, or other personal adjustments cannot be transferred over, and must be made on the new/other computer. On a side note, you may want to use a password manager app which can be a big help! Feel free to reach out to us directly if you have further questions about our Transfer Cables: plugable.com/pages/support/.
You could be a negotiator for the police department how calm you are(😃)
It was a nice clear speaking video. :)
I have minecraft on my old potato PC and just got a new one any idea how I can get it on my new one without paying for it
I bought a double ended usb on amazon.. it didnt come with instructions or a disk. how can i transfer from one computer to another?
I am currently searching for methods to move files from old Windows computers (Vista, Win7, etc., towers, laptops, netbooks) to a new Win 10 tower. This is the only product I have found, so far, that will permit multiple transfers between computers with a USB cable (and an included auto-transfer program), AND provides a demonstration video to show the user how it is done, AND provides user support. I ordered my 2.0 version from Amazon and waiting for it now. I have tried two other USB cable products that I could not get to work between my Win 7 and Win 10 Dell tower computers. If it works a easy as the instructional video shows, this "get out of Windows 7" process will be a snap. and much cheaper than the price quoted by the Geek Squad.
Hello David,
Thanks for reaching out to us! Glad to see you're interested in our Transfer Cables. I would imagine a lot of folks are in the middle of, or planning a transfer from Windows 7. Our USB 2.0, and 3.0 Transfer Cables come with everything you need, and provide unlimited access for installation, and transfer usage. I hope it will be useful to you!
We also have a written article that goes along with the video, it has other helpful information you might want to check out: plugable.com/2019/12/13/plugable-usb-transfer-cables-step-by-step-instructions/. Feel to reach out to us directly at: support@plugable.com with questions or support needs!

what do u do if ur computer has no cd port can i download it from somewhere else?
Thanks for reaching out to us about this. Yes, the software can be downloaded and installed! We'd suggest to install the downloadable version onto both computers as it is newer, instead of using the disc. You can download the new version from this link: plugable.com/pages/usb-easy-transfer-cable-software.
Excellent, clear, concise, calm instructions. Thank you. :)
Simple and explained with clarity. Hope I've got it??
Great video! Instructions are clear, concise and very easy to follow.

Awesome explanation.👍
how is it not possible to transfer files between win10 devices with anything other than BLUETOOTH. what is this the year 2006 or what?!
Very helpful, very descriptive and very understandable thank you so much
top notch very clear Thanks Kev
That was simple. clear. and great video. Thank you
Thanks for the comment! We're glad to see this was helpful for you.
Hi Your video is very informative and clearly understandable. I couldn't get an original cable, this one I could purchase is a Chinese product, I didn't know if it needed a software or a product key before using it. It became clear to me after watching your video. I have already torn its plastic cover. I had thought it must have its manufacturers address or website inside the plastic but that is not therein. I can't return it as the packed plastic is torn. Pls suggest me what should I do. Though I'm thinking to go to the shop where I purchased that yesterday, I'm pretty sure it is not going to happen. Pls help me.
Thank you brilliant worked fantastic best £30.00 spent
What happens if I encounter duplicate file names? That is, I'm moving a file to the new computer, but that computer already has a file by that name?
goood question
Rename file first or possibly during
Well done video, but Plugable invites questions i.e. "If you have any questions please comment below..." yet they dont bother to answer them. That is very worrisome.
yeah most of these vloggers are that way as if they have a busy life when all their doing is sitting in gram gram's basement being a douche troll its the only way they can get girls to look at them
Best tutorial , I think I've ever seen . Great job
We're glad to help!
Great video presentation. This video is the reason I just ordered one for myself.
Thanks for the comment! That's great! It was a fun video for us to work on, and we're glad to see you liked it.
Very good instructions. Very well communicated. Thank you!
Thanks for the great comment! We're glad to see you liked our video.
Nice job!
Very nice videro! Good job.
Appreciated much of the presentation. Would have appreciated clarity/more detail on a few points. (1) How to determine if you have 2.0 or 3.0 USB; which type to order if you remain unsure; (2) Would have appreciated a quick demo on each of the 4 types of transfer data techniques since you're here to showcase the product; (3) Why is "My Computer" unchecked for the data transfer?; (4) Glossed over the "...but there were errors" and VIEW LOG. What is to be done about those files?; (5) you noted that files transfer to the same location on the new computer; is that with all 4 of the transfer types of just the file transfer type you used? Here is what I appreciated from your presentation: the clarity for details that were provided; the product key information (particularly zeroes; not letter Os); highlighting that data is copied and not moved; noting several times (and yet someone missed it) that programs are not copied; those need to be done manually; and where exactly to find the download link for systems without a cd tray. Overall a great presentation, thanks.

Hi Bill, thanks for reaching out to us about this. Were really glad to see that this was helpful for you!
is it possible to transfer like big games setup file that has actually iso file
What if both computers have disk drives
Very clear and helpful.
Hello, Kevin, It seems can't transfer the APP, do you have some mothod for transfer APP? Thank you very much!
Thank you so much for this very useful explanation.
i was wondering how do i change the destination of where i want my files from my old computer to go on my new one? i want to put files in my D drive instead of the C drive.
Drag and drop
Marvelous explanation.
Thank you! We're hope our video was helpful.
I have about 5 copies of each photo in my "Photos" file. Will it transfer all or can I make sure to only copy one of each photo and video?
Will it transfer all my ITunes songs?
Nice detail😊
What if neither the old nor new pc doesn’t have a disk drive? Which is my case.
@2:39 he explains that the software can be downloaded. Seems like it doesn't matter how the program gets into your computer, either through download or disc install.
great, easy to understand tutorial.
Awesome! Thanks for the comment. We're glad to see our video was helpful.
Will I lose the files on my other pc
In short: no. It’s kind of like what happens when you take a stamp and ink and stamp down on a sheet of paper. It’s just a copy of the original. Hope that makes sense.
Thank you so much
Thank you. Very nice instructional video
You're welcome! We're glad this was helpful to you.
Well explained along with great demonstration.
Excellent instructions. I wish more CZcams instruction videos were like this. Can you transfer Windows10 files to a Windows 11 computer?
Thanks for the comment. We're glad to see our video was helpful for you! Yes, you can transfer back and forth between Windows 10 and 11, or between any compatible versions of Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8.x, 10, 11) for that matter.
Wow, this comments... People are still living in the past...
Great explanation
Thanks for the comment! Glad to see our video was useful.
Ordered and received but i'm returning it because "IT DOES NOT DETECT THE "USERS" FOLDER".
Seems easy enough but my problem is, the old laptops disk drive doesn't. Can i do downloadable version for both the old and new?
Yes, if both computers have access to the internet you don't need the CD.
Will it transfer downloads and apps on your old laptop to a PC monitor?
If you mean desktop, yes. Just you have to download the original install files to install the apps. Other documents will be transfered
@@Rvlo412 naaaaaaaaaah i think he is stupid like some of my family members and thinks that a PC can be only a monitor (not including the all in one)
What is the maximum length of the transfer cable ?
Will all my emails be transferred? My computers (old and new) both have dvd drives...use the set-up disc on old AND new? The demo showed using the set-up disc on the old computer only because the new one didn’t have a dvd drive.
No it will not transfer your emails, because they are in the program folder of your e-mail program.
If you export your e-mails as files, you can copy them like any other file.
If you have a disk drive on each of your computers, you can use the disk on both.
This takes the guesswork out of the transfer. I just need to know if all music will transfer into iTunes since the program is on both computers.
What's the reason for entering special codes? It's more convienient to buy a transfer cable, which is ready to work immediately after connecting. I use Dynex.
I went to the Dynex website. All their transfer cables are discontinued. 🙁
amazing video
Windows XP only transfers 10 files or folders at a time.
1-Can PLUGABLE manage to transfer an entire My Documents folder without having to
go back an forth?
2- Can I transfer files from computer 1 to computer 2 but have them transferred to an
external drive instead of the main drive?
Hello, and thanks for reaching out to us!
Sorry for any trouble that you've had with the Transfer Cable! The Transfer Cable can definitely transfer entire folders and large amounts, so it is puzzling that you've had this trouble.
The software can be set to account for multiple drives, by using the Add Folder feature. Please feel free to reach out to us directly for support at: support@plugable.com, and we'll be here to help you troubleshoot.
Thank you,
Kevin
Plugable Support
This was a very good explanation and tutorial , altho my computer uses usb 2.0 and the new computer uses usb 3.0 . What do i do ?
New computer will probably have both usb 2.0 and usb 3.0, so you should be able to use the usb 2.0 version of the Plugable product. That is what I needed to do when I transferred files from my older Dell laptop to a more modern machine. It worked just fine.
very clear.
Great tutorial. One question, tho: I noticed when the transfer was complete, the message said:
"Transfer was completed, but there were errors copying some files."
What kind of errors and how do you correct them? Thanks.
Probably protected stuff u don't want or need anyways
I have a problem. The instruction was clear, however your links to where to buy the cable and set up disc take me to Amazon whicH says they are out of it and do not know when they will receive more. What do I do now? Kitty
Can u transfer games
What about 32 and 64 bits winrR
My old computer do not have a ddv drive, but the new one does, can I use an internal drive, then remove the disk and and put in the new computer to do the same installation?
Very good video and explanation. Right to the point. I have one question though. My old laptop has 1 SSD drive for everything. My new computer, an AIO, has both a SSD as the primary- C- and a second HHD-D- as the secondary. The SSD is 256 GB and the HHD is 1 TB. How do I differentiate what to put on each? I know I want videos, pictures & music, my 3 largest files (folders) on D to not use up space on the C drive. Also, HOW do I divide them up? Do I transfer everything to the new computer, then move them to the appropriate disk? Thanks for any help.
You may want to use the Drag & Drop mode which is manual, and let's you drag and drop individual files and folders over. This mode automatically shows all available hard drives (In the Transfer and Sync Modes, you need to click the button to Add Folder to access other drives). This could help you with organizing things. Typically people will leave the SSD for Windows and other applications, and use the larger drive for pictures, music, and other files. It may be easiest to transfer files to the large drive first, and then manually move things around later.
Late but also for anyone still wondering if you would select ssd you want to transfer and click the properties button and then you. An choose the drive it will be copied too
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you
Hi Casey! Great! We're glad this was helpful for you.
What about steam you download games from that is popular is that a program.
wow! nice. does this transfer settings and passwords too?
When it says "Transfer Data To New Computer" , you say "copy". Do you mean it will extract from your old PC, leaving it empty OR actually make a copy of the old on the new, keeping the data on the old PC also?
Thanks for asking! The data will be copied from your old machine to your new device and all files will be available on both. If you have further questions, please send a message to support@plugable.com and we'd be happy to help!
Great video, clear communication!
I just take tge hard drive out and use a external cable and hook up to the other laptop and download the doc pics and music
Hi Kevin! At about 5 minutes you describe a product key to enter. Is there an accessible way for blind and visually impaired folks like me to get this key? 😎 If not, it would be nice if the software could register itself based on weather the cable is plugged in? Perhaps using the "Vendor" and "Device" IDs? That would help me, and have the nice side effect that nobody would have to enter a key, just plug in the cable and BOOM! I'd like to get this cable, but want to make sure I can use it first, so thank you for any help you can give. I have been using your folding keyboards for years, and when I needed to upgrade my SSD, I got an NVME to USB device by Plugable. I've rarely found products as well built, even my 2017 Macbook with the messed up keyboard 😎. Thanks for your vids and time. P.S. A lesson I learned very painfully is that the small CDs won't work in drives that don't have a tray, IE apple Mac and Super Drives. Go directly to the download link, do not pass go, ... I understand the software is windows based, but thought I'd throw it out there for users ov Bootcamp or VMs. HTH.
Hi Jason, thanks for reaching out to us about this, and for the feedback! Would you be able to reach out to us directly? Here's a link to our contact info: plugable.com/pages/support/. That way, we can chat directly to see how we might be able to help you!
this doesnt tell you all features arent available unless you buy it. you cn only use one transfer at a time
